With the help of a couple limited invulnerability potions (to live to sprint past the guys who can see through stealth), and vanish it is possible to stealth to Skarthis as a rogue on heroic mode to pick this quest up and turn it in.

The quest reward isnt an object or a key of any sort. It is simply permanent attunement to Serpentshrine Caverns similiar to the Naxx attunement.

Just solo'd this as a druid.

Had a warlock friend SS me and bought a stack of Limited Invulnerability Potions. Stealthed to the first set of sentries. De-stealthed when I was at a distance to not aggro them when I wasn't ready (to the right side of the ramp to avoid the pat), then ran up to them and chugged the pot when they aggro'd. Didn't even need to shift and dash, died well enough away to SS without worry.

Stealthed up to the second pat and scouted for a bit to make sure the pat on the broken bridge (the one you jump off of) was on its way down the right side. When the sentry pat turned around, I ran up to them, chugged the pot on aggro, shifted into cat form, and dashed off the bridge to the left side.

Easy as pie.

I soloed the turn-in as a demonology warlock, with the help of soulstone, invisibility pots and swiftness pots. I also found someone with a saved Slave Pens instance to invite me to their group, to eliminate the first boss.

I soulstoned myself before going into the instance, and ninjaed past the crab dudes. Just run on one side when they're on the other. I drank an invis pot to make it through the hallway. You can then ninja past the patrol in the open room by going to the right and then to the left. Hide behind the lightpost at the far left side of the island in the middle of the room until both three-packs are clear, and then run across and behind to the two Defenders. I set my imp on them and drank a swiftness potion. This is tricky, but you should be able to get far enough down the hallways to not aggro when you pop your SS.

Wait til your SS is back up and SS yourself again. Use the next invis pot to run up the first ramp. Summon your voidwalker. Then wait until your swiftness pot cooldown is up. When the three pack patrol walks by run the opposite way up the next ramp. When you see the two pack patrol, set your voidwalker on them, and drink a swiftness potion. When he's about to die, or you're about to run into the next defender pack (whichever comes first), sac your voidwalker for the shield. This should put you in a position to pop SS out of aggro from the defenders when they pat back to the ramp you were just on. Wait until your next invis pot is up and pop SS. Immediately drink your invis pot and run around the next ramp and jump off into the water. Jump onto the ledge to the left and ninja past the next three-pack, and the NPC is right there.

I also had the 12 spell dmg + minor run speed meta gem while doing this, that may have helped a bit.

for rogue and sub this is cake to solo to get/turn in the quest. can just shadowstep 2nd boss (avoid the ambush =D) otherwise get this done before patch since they nerfing limited inv pot i believe(correct me if i'm wrong).

Quite easy as a moonkin druid, don't need the pots, but you do need a soulstone. What I did at the first two guardians who see through stealth - get fairly close to them in caster form, and pop barkskin, then cast Force of Nature (love them trees) in between them, kitty form and sprint for the hills in between them. I failed the first time I tried, simply because I casted the trees then barkskinned, then cat form - that extra 1.5 seconds is all they need to kill off your trees and two shot you really fast. So rez up after that, and continue on, making sure not to aggro the boss as he pats up the ramp that splits up to the forking bridges. Once there, pick a side. Here is where it gets tricky: you |MUST| be patient and time the walking pat and the patrolling guardians that see through stealth at the top. As the guardians are moving away, while the pats are going through the top, you can skootch while stealthed on the inside of the two pats, so you are at the very top of the platform, watching the guardians move away from you. Once there, Barkskin then catform-sprint the hell past them, and jump off the side - they will evade and the quest mob is right there. Good luck!

Okay, I just did this on my rogue without pots/soulstone.

The trick is to sprint+evasion and be out of "aggro-sight" when u vanish from the stealth detection mobs.

Very easy I must say, got 4 points in MoD if that matters.

well, im an affliction warlock. I just spent about half an hour trying to get in there and solo this, but the farthest i got even with a soulstone healthstone and sacrificed voidwalker was the hallway, and not even far enough in to wait for the pats to go past me. My problem was that i was getting hit REALLY hard if i popped out of invisibility or ran past a slavehandler, so i didnt even have time to really do anything before i died. Just a heads up, this is no walk in the park.

One of the items drops off Gruul and the other off Nightbane in Karazhan. Can be done in one night if you have a good guild :)

With today's annoucement by Blizzard that there will now be no attunement required to enter Serpentshrine Cavern, it is no longer necessary to do this quest:

Just a heads up, if you abandon the quest you lose the quest items. I had abandoned the quest at one point and couldn't find either of the signets in my bank where i kept them till I got a SP run.

any rogue worth their salt can stealth to this guy without any silly "invuln pots" or the like.

sprint + evasion past the first two stealth seers; vanishing at the end of that hallway. then make your way up the ramp behind Mennu. wait for evasion and vanish to cool down and get up to the top of the "horseshoe ramp" with the patrolling technicians. i was able to distract the next two stealth detectors, and the whole next group (one naga and two slave looking guys), in one move, then evasion sprint past them, not getting hit once, and vanish during the fall down to the water below.

This is required (along with the 3 Naaru quests from A'dal in Shattrath) to obtain the title "Champion of the Naaru".

This means you have to hand in the 3 Trial quests (Shadow Labs, Steamvault Heroic, Shattered Halls Heroic and Magtheridon) and also this quest which requires you to get the items from Nightbane and Gruul, to obtain the title "Champion of the Naaru".

If you spec Shadowspec (as a rogue) you can simply go into the water and Shadowstep to the boss and walk over to the quest giver.

Even though attunement for SSC isn't required anymore, you can still pick up this quest, collect the quest items, complete the quest and hand-in the quest...

How to Solo as a Rogue using NO POTIONS IN UNDER 5 MINS!

1) Spec Shs
2) Enter the instance, go straight across the water below where that lobster boss patrols.
3) When he pats back, Shs up to one of the smaller lobster men.(If you aggro just vanish)
4) Proceed to the right(Not towards all the Naga in the open cave area, go into the tunnel guarded by two Nagas)
5) Once you exit the tunnel he should be directly to your left. Turn in and spend that gold respeccing back to combat...

I did this using no cooldowns, you can blow sprint if you want just to run faster, but there is no essential use. If you're not Shs, dont bother using this method. The turn in isn't worth the money to respec.

I turned in this quest solo in a fresh instance as a 70 hunter using Misdirection to my pet and Feign Death.

I had a grp for Slave Pens heroic, we started whiping alot after we had cleared 2 crab packs. The group decided to quit it but me (warlock) and a rogue went on, we ran past some packs, on safe distance ofc. Came to the water that you are able to see Rokmar The Crackler from. In that pool on the southern point, edge of the boss platform there is a wall that is kinda "askance" like this -> /
You can only jump this wall if you know how to walljump in the newest patches.
The rogue couldnt do it so i logged his account and did it after some tries.
When i was up there i placed my imp on the edge of the wall, its possible to get on top of it in the most southern corner of that area.
When i had done that i made my imp shoot the mobs and they got "evade" since my imp was in a "unreachable" spot. I ran past the mobs that was "evade" and down the tunnel. Right after the tunnel end turn left and you should see the sucker in a cage there.

PS: you cant stealth past em. take a friend with you and range him from the edge and "evade" the packs for eachother. If something goes wrong jump back into the water and do the jumping again:)

Any rogue / hunter can do this without wall jumping. After you get into the first main room in the instance where you would go to Menu the Betrayer, you can pull those two guards on either side of the door then wait for them to be close enough to you so as not to hit you but will still follow you... sprint / eva around the pole there and go inside the hall then vanish. Even though they can see through stealth they will still drop aggro if you are far enough away and you will leave combat. Hunters for this part control your pet - have it pull them away from the door while you stand close to the door. Once pet is dead you run in and feign - gtg ^^.

Just get up to the top part where you can look down on Rockmar and use some noggenfoggers or a slow fall cape (I think there are a few) or anything that gives you slow fall. Jump off the bridge and slow fall down. Aim for the body of water in the BACK of Rockmar's area.

For those rogues of you who want to get this quest solo; the mentioned tactic with shadowstep works perfectly! I respecced to have shadowstep because I wanted to test and do this myself : stand under the ledge below Rockmar in the water, turn him to you with distract en shadowstep. It worked on my 2nd try. Had to use a vanish to escape Rockmar (I somehow pulled him) and then just walked through tunnel to quest giver. Dont know if it will still work tomorrow (2.1 patch) thats why I did it today. Of course, you can also always just go in a group and get the quest .. but noone in my guild wanted to go :( so I tried this :)

He is simple 2 find. After 1st boss run up ramp, jump into the water and after clearing the mobs on the left u will find Skar'this the Heretic in a cage. This quest is no longer needed 4 the ssc key, but gives 24g reward.

I did this completely by myself and starting in a fresh dungeon with all adds, first of all you must be a rogue and must have the shadowstep ability, stealth to the pool in front of rockmar, i tried walljumping but I suck at it, anyways, go to the far left of the pool near the tunnel rockmar comes out, distract him so he faces you, then spam shadowstep all around the ledge, it will port you behind him, walk past the crabs and go into the tunnel strait ahead of you, the guards here could not see me in stealth, whoever the guards at the first tunnel can, anyways stealth past them and on the left is a cage with the quest giver in it.

The earthen signet is held by Gruul the Dragonkiller. Gruul can be found inside his lair in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

The second signet is the blazing heart of a creature known as Nightbane. This mythical beast is said to reside in the hallowed halls of the prophet, Medivh.
