Introduced in patch 3.1, as the Crusader's Coliseum was being built during the Ulduar tier of content.

Champion's Seals can be earned from various one-time quests to introduce players to the Coliseum, as well as numerous repeatable daily quests, and runs of Heroic Trial of the Champion.

Unlike other currency systems that were removed in patch 4.0.1, Champion's Seals remain, being required to purchase the various cosmetic city-faction rewards the Coliseum offers, as well as item-level 200 Rare-to-Epic gear, and Heirloom items (a handy alternative to using Justice Points).

I'm in two minds about these seals now...

On one hand i feel blizzard should lower the price of their rewards because no one realistically will be using that ilvl 200 axe anymore.

But on the other, i know that i love my hippogryph and pets and that if they did lower them then it would cheapen them so to speak.

Should be noted that, at this time, these are unattainable for Worgens and Goblins.

Although a GM has told me they're working on it... so should be fixed in the next year or two ;P

Champion's Seal may be obtained through two means.

One) Complete the Daily Heroic Trial Of The Champion (one drops of each boss, total of three can be obtained per instance)

Two) Complete the Daily Quests.

In order to unlock the daily quests at the Argent Tournament Grounds you most first complete "The Aspirant's Challenge." This quest however takes a few days of annoying dailies to complete (3 days of three quests, i believe) These dailies can be obtained by the NPCs that stand to the left and right of "Magister Edien Sunhollow"

Once the "The Aspirant's Challenge" has been completed you are now known as an Aspirant (note: this isn't a title) and have access to the dailies brought forth by your factions.

Note: As goblins and worgens are new races brought out by Cataclysm and the Argent Tournament does not include these factions (as it is pre-cata) , So the only way, for the time being, of obtaining Champion's Seals is through Heroic TOC.
So if you want gear or BoAs (like me) do NOT do a faction change to goblin or worgen unless you are happy to only obtain 3 Champion's Seals per day.

Always in a Champion's purse nowadays. Decent option to obtain heirlooms if ya don't want to spend Justice points on em.

The total amount of Champions seals you can get in one day:

3 dailies in your faction tent = 3 Seals
4 dailies in the most western tent = 5 Seals (Threat From Above rewards 2 seals)
4 Seals from Champion's Purse (one of the choices you get after completing the dailies named above this one)
2 dailies that are unlocked after attaining the Crusader title. (rewarding one seal each)
3 Seals from doing Trial of the Champion

Totalling 17 seals a day. (14 purely with dailies)

For convenience you can buy the Argent Crusader's Tabard for 50 seals to be able to teleport to the Tournament grounds every 30 minutes.

Also to buy all the mounts that are sold at the Argent tournament, of which there are fourteen, you will need to earn 1025 seals . This equals to 73 days of dailies, 61 if you do Trial of the Crusader every day. Additionally you can also buy the pets (if you have bad luck with Satchel of Exotic Mysteries and get none of these pets). There are six pets which cost 40 seals each, so a total of 240 seals. This equals to 18 days of dailies, 15 if you do Trial of the Champion.

Since the addition of the Toy Box, people will probably want the banners as well. Per faction there are 5 available banners and 1 neutral banner. All of them cost 15 seals, making it 90 seals for the banners alone. (Learning a banner for one faction will automatically learn the corresponding banner of the other faction, i.e. stormwind = orgrimmar)

Grand total: 1025 + 240 + 50 + 90 = 1405 seals

This will take 101 days of dailies or 83 if you do Trial of the Champion every next to the dailies. (Since this comment, Trial of the Champion is very easy to solo at level 90, so even easier at 100)

If you have guild level 23 perk Bountiful Bags you have a chance to get more then one seal out of your bag. Over the last week I have gotten 3 extra seals. It's not much but its something.
Also it may be just luck but every bag I have opened has had atleast 1 seal.

Got all my tournament pets in wotlk, but still missing some mounts so started to do tournament dailies again.

There are 10 daily quests available per day: 8 random + 1 Threat From Above + 1 Among the Champions
4 of those quests gives Champion's Purse - which 100% contains 1 champion's seal each (was looking for them while opening bags but there's no more item called "champion's seal" you can see those only in chat as green text and in "currency" section, that's the reason i doubt it can be affected by Bountiful Bags).
Threat From Above is group quest level 80 with 2 champion's as the quest reward.

So you can get 14 seals from daily quests, and 3 from toc hc 5, total 17 per day.
*Actually amount of quests depends on your silver covenant reputation + reputation with cities + how close are you to A Silver Confidant. As you remember there are some prequests you have to do before actual daily quests will start.
*When you will have Get Kraken! (1 of random Hrothgar's landing quests - isle to the north from tournament grounds) after killing Kraken you have a chance (unsure if it's 100%) to obtain an item Kraken Tooth - which starts a quest (counts as daily), you have to just return it, reward is 13g,27 but no champion's seal (sadly)

Even at level 85 this daily quests will give you some real gold (around 150g), Champion's Purse's money-loot goes as "looted gold" so counts for achievement Got My Mind On My Money.
*For level 85 - each quest gives 13g,27, except Rescue at Sea - 9g,93. Also you will get 4 Champion's Purse which contains 10g each (+13g,27 from Identifying the Remains)

I don't understand, to gain access to the heirlooms do you have to do the quests for Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Undercity, Trolls and Silvermoon? before it unlocks?

I got "Champion of Orgrimmar" and then the 4 other factions opened up...

I'm not sure if something has changed or not but I never get a Champion's Seal in any of my Champion's Purses. The only thing that I get in the purses are 10 gold each.

You can buy a lot of mounts with this emblem. Also pets and banners.

I confirm this can be obtained from Champion's Purse in WotLK Classic, rate seems to be low tho since opened a bunch (~40) and just got 1 so far.

As in phase 2 we can get a maximum of 5 marks per day from dailies?

Note that back in the day when this was retail the Champion's Purse always gave a seal. In classic it only has a chance to give a seal. As such you are guaranteed 10 a day from quests. Plus three from TOC. If you are lucky you can get additional from the Purses but the most I have ever gotten from the four is two.
