They really should've used art that was even slightly lion-themed for something with this name.

Or, if this is supposed to be a shield traditionally used by High Elves, (This possibility deduced from the Silvermoon Motif and it being a faction reward from the Alliance Vanguard), named something that more directly discusses it's high-elven heritage.

That said, this shield compares well to and is better than many TBC Badge Epics and is a good intermediary to Naxx-sourced epics.

Even though this is a pretty solid shield, its flaw is that you can only get it from 78 and up. In Violet Hold drops the Riot Shield which isn't only wearable from 75 and up, but also by a large margin better.

Violet Hold is in Dalaran and drops other great tanking items like Screeching Cape, so you propably will be running the instance a couple of times while leveling to 78 and will propably have the shield before you ding.

It's a shame it didn't use this model, which is only used on two quest rewards, in Wetlands and Nagrand.
