You can grab the registry from outside the building. Jump up on the ledge of the western wing, and search the wall left of the center with your mouse for the action-wheel. The elves are rather annoying, so this is the best way to solo this one. Good luck!

WHAT AN UNLUCKY QUEST !!! I'm trying this quest from an hour and still can't manage to solo it. Die 5-6 times from two mobs who protect the registry (60lvl).... except this there has two 60 lvl patrol mobs :) When you kill the protectors they automaticly respawn in the same time :) If you don't like difficult quest this definitely is not your one ... have fun :)

this quest is realy a pain... but i managed to do it as a 56 fure mage... almost.. when i was in the house and near the book a 70 priest runed by and help me .. :)

As a 57 Demo Lock, I am really hating this Q. The respawn is way to fast to easily solo this Q

You have to jump on to the outer ledge, you can do this at the front of the building. The exact loc for the book is 52,18.

If you're a priest and you're having trouble getting the book through the wall, use Mind Vision on one of the Protectors as you're standing just outside against the wall (you can use the Tab key to target them). Assuming you're close enough to the book, you should be able to click on it and grab it while using Mind Vision.

I wasn't able to get the gear to pop up for me through the wall until I did this.

killed everything up the path... leave the 4 man patrol alone at the top. kill the two rangers, 60/59 and grab it through the wall. run like hell.

As of Tuesday, June 27th 2006, Patch 1.11 the wall trick is still firmly in place.

As a 57 warrior, i died my way in, got into position on the edge (you cannot be standing on the ground, you have to get up on the edge from the little hill next to the building) and rezzed, and looted the book, no hassle at all.

Registry is in the building right wing. The guards are called Quel'Lithien Protectors so they can't be mistaken. There are two of them guarding the registry on top of a bench.

Entrance of camp is at 51,24.

Btw the Protectors have short respawn timer

Just face the door.. Go to the right hall which your mouse look for the regist and do the loot for out side of the house.. Easy ;)

If you're going to get the registry from outside the building, make sure you're on the ledge of the building or you can't reach it. Got the registry at 52,18. The respawn are short. Maybe only about a minute or so. So be ready. Stealth FTW.

tried to loot the register through the wall today, did not have luck with that ~ so I just solo'd the 2 60 guards ... took a sec to clear the path but sapped one and worked them over -easy that way

This was pretty hard to solo as a 57 rogue. Once you get up to the crossed shaped house which has the book in it, you'll notice 3 patrolling guards, and 2 outside of the cross shaped house. Note the tree to the right of the + shaped house, go towards the tree and pull 1 guard guarding the entrance, kill, and do the same for the other. Wait until (or stealth if you are a rogue)the 3 patrolling guards pass, when they do, walk on the right rail to go on the ledge of the house. Put on walk by hitting "/" on the numerical key side of your keyboard, and walk down the ledge, staying along the wall. While doing this, hover over the wall until you either see the 2 guards (they will be 60) or if your cursor goes over the book. Once you find the book, walk into the green ledge, you'll automatically get up on it, right click, and there ya go! You've got it! Don't try to attempting getting it from inside the house... I've tried so many times to do so, but these guys respawn so fast. Ended up with a 3g armor repair doing it that way, and still didn't get it until I hovered the wall outside :)

where do u hand in the quest after completeing it?

The lodge is up north, in about the top-middle of the map. If you go all the way up the N road you go through a portal into the Ghostlands, so you have to go off the road to the left and either hump it over the hills to get to the lodge from the right side (facing the lodge), or go up the path to the left side. The left side necessitates killing more guards, but you have to kill them anyway for the quest. Be careful for a patrol of 3 guards in back who use a circular patrol route (just like in the classic western "For A Few Dollars More"). There is a similar patrol inside the lodge. Good luck!

something wierd: theese guys have a very high aggro range and I pulled them with only my Hunter's mark so be careful... happy hunting

After the new patch that came out on May 22nd... wall hack is ineffective, can't even get the grey gear to show up through the wall... just going to duke it out!

The wall "trick" seems to have been fixed in 2.1. Doesn't work for me, at least.

Yep, found it also in the west wing of the building. Soloed it as 59 hunter, but you have to move fast as the mobs respawn quickly. I also snuck around the back by the eastern wing, used the pet to pull the two stationary guards out, dealt with them and went back for the roving pair of elves. The rest was easy.

impressive dec 4 06 the through the wall trick still works. just press v to find the mobs in the west wing, stand outside the wall and get the book. trying to solo in the building is suiside for a lone warrior

Soloed this as a lvl 59 warrior. Something about those elves that make them wana dodge me a lot, which helped. But more than that, this place is great practice for pulling...no one runs, only one ranged mob(good for LOS pulls) in 4 types in area, and they have steady patrols. Walk in the front door and whatch for a sec, then kill them all...damn elves...

The registry was in the West wing for me, but i couldn't do it solo (lvl 58 warrior), it's to many guys running around in there!

Found it in the west wing, guarded by the two static spawned protectors. They pop quickly, so don't hang around after you pick it up.

Solo'd as a 58 rogue. The elves have killer stealth detection, though.

The registry was on a bench in the south wing of the lodge guarded by two level 60 Quel'Lithien Protectors.

I finished this quest but was not given the option for the two follow-on quests. Is there another prereq to get the next quests? Do I need to finish all of Nathanos original quests to get the next ones? There is an early quest to kill noxious plaguebats from him that I didn't do. Would I need to finish that first in order to get the Duskwing and Corpulent quests?

60 Priest, through the wall was the only way I could get it to work, still works as of 11/06 surprisingly.

Registry is guarded by 2 lvl 60 Quel Protector's. It's at the west wing inside the lodge on a table around 51,19 if your facing it.

Tried going at the back of the lodge and started pulling mobs from there. Just charge both protectors, retal and took em down.

This is the suckiest Quest I've ever done in the Plaguelands! I tried to do it at 59 (Hunter) but I couldn't do it! I died 2 times and my pet even more cuz they are crawling like ants all over the place and spwaning like rabbits breed! AND there was a lvl 60 rare craphole there wandering around inside the lodge, so I couldn't manage to kill the protectors and ninja the scroll cuz I got a whole raid of adds all the time! I can't believe those things will be the new Horde race (except they will be Blood Elves, but elves anyway :P )...

I will be back at lvl 60 and totally slaughter all of them...

lvl 60 shammy ... no problems. Just try to avoid pats while engaged and it's easy.

Did it as a 60 warlock/affliction spec. with a VW up for pet. Nice that nothing runs as it dies, one thing though the respawn rate is fairly fast here. There was a lvl.60 rare up in lodge which made it a bit tricky, he is a mobil pat., and there is another 2 mob patrol workin the inside as well. It took a couple tries, finally pulled stationary mobs as pats went to either end of the lodge. Then after opening up the middle part I sent VW in on Rare and let 2 mob patrol agro on VW as well, DoT'd everything and used VW's AoE fear to hold agro. on him as the rare died. Health Funeled VW for a bit, re-DoT'd mobs and dropped 2nd pat. Again thank god they don't run. After that getting to book is easy, only 2 mobs in front of registry that is on a table between the 2 book cases.

Wow that was way easy, for a hunter anyway... to get up to the lodge WITHOUT going through the uh long path on the west side of the lodge full with those blood elves, go on the east side where the road is blocked off by a bunch of logs. If you have a mount or something, you should be able to climb up a rough ledge (it's not even a road) but it leads up to the east side of the lodge itself. Once you get there, you'll see two blood elves. Pull them and kill them without aggroing the 3 man patrol outside.

After that's done head to the east side of the lodge, WITHOUT GOING INTO THE LODGE through the main door, it's plain suicide. The main path into the lodge is guarded by two elves obviously, just try to pull the one on the left without aggroing the patrols. Best if you go all the way to the east side of the lodge.

Once you are on the east, pass under the part where part of the building just sticks out, there's no aggroing so no worries. That'll lead you to the west wing of the lodge.

Now here's the easy part for hunters. If you have your pet, USE IT. Once the two-man patrol begins to head to the eastern wing, send your pet to the two Quel'blabla Protectors. Immediately having sending it, NINJA THE DAMN REGISTRY. If your pet dies, Feign Death or just run... but it seems like there's no where to run really. I chose FD.

The easiest way to do this is to sneak around the back side of the west wing, killing a couple of dudes, and then pulling out the 2 other dudes in front of the bench. That way you don't have to mess with the 3-man patrol walking around in there. Just jump over the railing when the patrol goes to the other side and ninja the book.

As of March 1st 2007 the wall trick still works. Minimal killing, especially if you're a warlock. Eye of Kilrogg works great for scoping out pats.

They have quite awful names. I suggest Quel'Lithien Pathstrider, Quel'Lithien Ranger, Quel'Lithien Woodsman.

You cannot interact with the Registry through the wall which means you'll either have to kill everything, or find some way to distract the guards.

Probably one of the worst areas in the game classic wow wise. Rivals wolves in Badlands.Bring a friend or group if you can. It's soloable, but ridiculous aggro ranges, spawns, and unnecessary pats make this hell. One would think Blizzard just kind of said "*!@# YOU" when they made this area.

The Protector mobs hit a lot weaker at ranged. If you are a hybrid class, try getting them to use their bows and retaliate with spells. Helped me even as an Enhancement Shaman

It can be soloed as a mage on classic. Climb the edge on the west side on the building and carefully walk to the front, facing the guards. Wait for patrol to go right, them polymorph one guard and use cooldowns to kill the other guard. You should be able to loot it before the patrol comes back.

Very soloable on hardcore if you're a little careful, and can handle the 2 level 60 Quel'lithien protectors. Climb up from the eastern side of the lodge, where there should be a path guarded by 2 mobs. These can be pulled back one at a time, but make sure you don't pull the 3-man patrol with them. When both are dead, wait for the 3-man patrol to pass by, then run to the left, and pull the closest entrance guard to the eastern side of the lodge. There should be no spawns on the eastern side, so this is a safe spot. In the eastern part of the inside of the lodge, there are 2 guards that can be pulled separately. Peek around the corner, and pull them outside when the patrol has moved to the far end of the lodge. When these are dead, you should wait for the patrol and kill them. The guards in the middle of the lodge can also be pulled one at a time, just use LOS to make them come to you. Finally you need to kill the 2 protectors, and this is the "hardest" part of the quest, since they do quite a bit of damage and can interrupt, but just use your cooldowns and you should be fine.

If at any point you pull more than you intended, jump down and run away immediately (don't jump if your health is already low). Rogues should note that some of the mobs use Faerie Fire.
