Their main base of operations and biggest settlement is the Stormspire, but they can be found at Midrealm Post, the Aeris Landing, within the Mana Tombs of Auchindoun and various other places.

For Honored -> Revered -> Exalted, you can farm Zaxxis Insignia's off Zaxxis Raiders and Stalkers at the Heap south of Area 52 in the Netherstorm.

10 Insignias nets you 250 rep when turned in to the Ethereal in front of the inn in Area 52.

There are quite a few Consortium quests available in Netherstorm: in Stormspire (44, 35), at a camp before the bridge to Manaforge Ara (35, 37), and a larger camp north of Manaforge Ultris (59, 31). Most quests grant 250 rep when completed, some grant more.

The rewards for higher forms of reputations with the Consortium are gems sent to you in the mail on a monthly basis.

* At Friendly you'll recieve a few green gems.
* At Honored there isn't much change from friendly - I have heard one case of receiving a rare gem however.
* At Revered you get a much better chance to receive the rare gems (Talasite, Nightseye, Dawnstone, Star of Elune, Living Ruby, Noble Topaz).
* At Exalted you have the chance to receive metagems and epic gems.

Once you turn friendly with the consortium, one of the quest givers in Aeris Landing in Nagrand has a quest for you - he tells you that they send their allies gems and that your standing with them portrais the quality of these gems.

He also sais that he will send you new gems each month - they probably dont come around midnight, but more like 4 am or such, to releave the stress on the servers.

Here's some advice for those grinding consortium rep at 70:

Don't bother with Mana Tombs or the quests. There are some easy quests in Netherstorm, but later on they involve flying back and forth all over the zone.

I can reliably farm 50+ Obsidian War Beads per hour, which is 1250+ rep/hour... getting that much on a consistent basis from quests or Mana Tombs runs(until honored) didn't happen for me.

Just like the posters above said, there are ( except leftover quests) 2 repeatable quests. The Ogre Warbeads and the Zaxxis Insignas.

But there is also another way, you can go Mana Tombs heroic too. You will get about 2500 rep per run. You can do such run in about 2 hours, but you need a decent party for it, especially the last boss can be a pain.

I like this alot cause it's a welcome interruption while grinding the repeatable quest items. Also your effeciency on grinding rep can be better when doing instances for non dps classes

I found that I could easily farm Consortium rep while grinding Kurenai rep. Just collect Kurenai off of Ogre kill exp and save the beads for Consortium. Grinding the requisite mob rep for Kurenai will generate enough beads to get way into Revered for Consortium.

Someone mentioned it just above, but Mana Tombs on heroic is excellent for rep. As well as the last boss being a pain, you might want to get a tank with good shadow res gear for the first boss, he can be very tricky without it.

I will farming ogres for my rep. Not only do they drop the war beads, but you also get 10 Mag'har rep per kill and the turn in for Haala Research Tokens.

I will also be doing Ogres for rep. +10 to Nagrand faction, plus the Research Token drops, plus there's a tremendous amount of Ogres with a fast respawn. I usually start at the base of the Warmaul camp and work my way up to the Chief. I then jump down, go outside, and fly back to the base and start it all over again. Easily 80+ warbeads an hour, not to mention TONS of Netherweave and greens.

You'll have less downtime since they're very easy level 66 mobs, and for the most part come one at a time each pull, unlike the mobs at The Heap in Netherstorm.

As of 2.1 PTR the Monthly gems you get from them *is* working again. You have to go to Nagrand and speak with Gezhe (31,57) to get them. At exalted rep i got 2 blue gems and 3 green gems.

Since the "Black Temple" patch 2.1, there are now two more repeatable quests, in the Ethereum Prison quest chain. Start with Protectorate Advisor Raheem https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=22899 (optional) in the Stormspire, or at Commander Ameer https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=20448 at Protectorate Watch.

Quest 3, "Ethereum Prison ID" (not found on Wowhead 2007 May 27) is repeatable for 250 rep, plus the above-average drops from the killed mob.

Quest 6, "Purging the Chambers of Bash'ir" is repeatable for 500 rep.

Both of these require considerable farming of Ethereum Prison Keys https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29460, which have a low drop rate (especially in Netherstorm - drop rate seems better in Bash'ir Landing) (btw, I think these are dropped by ALL ethereals in the Ethereum Staging Grounds and Bash'ir Landing)

Once you reach the repeatable quest in the ethereum staging grounds to collect prisoner tags, the mobs that drop zaxxis insignias in the heap, south of area 52, can also drop ethereum prison keys. Grinding here is the fastest way of gaining consortium rep.

From what I have seen the Ogre's are much easier. Yes the drop rate is like 31%. I have killed a ridiculous amount of them and have mob info 2 mod. So I can scroll over them easily and found out. I have never done Mana Tombs and barely have done any consortium Quests. Grinding is much more rewarding. I have grinded all the Ogres in Negrand for about a total of 8 days /played. Longest time I grinded straight through including... Having to repair, Having to sell grey/white Items, Buying Ammo, Mailing out Netherweave (40% drop rate or so usually more than 1 at a time),Trading in Oshu'gun Crystal Powder Samples x20 for like 3 gold 30 silver and a Halaa Research Token (Horrible drop rate on the powders and they need to add some gear higher than LVL 66 that you don't need to do PvP to get), Mailing out Greens (About 1 drop an hour minimum shows as 3-5% depending on what I scroll over) or Disenchanted Mats, Mailing out Blues (like 1% drop Have had like 6 drops 1 card, 5 gear items = LVL 66) was 15 hours. Most of my grind sessions are for like 6 hours average. I have had over 1800 drop. As well as making between 8 and 9 gold an hour from drops as well.

If you goto the cave just north of Halaa just below one of the graveyards and farm there for a while their re-spawn rate improves after a few clears and the pace picks up and you can farm much faster and more efficiently. I do a figure 8 between inside and outside the cave no matter if there is a spawn or not to keep them from spawning onto me.

My issue is I am maxed out (999/1000 Exalted) with Kurenei and I am in revered 4000/21000 (After another turn in) with Consortium do to all the grinding and beads. I plan on maxing Consortium out by grinding. After it is all 999/1000 Exalted what do I get for the beads I get from helping others grind or are they totally worthless? I haven't tried to turn in any to Kurenei yet because I don't want to wast good Consortium rep on that. Can anyone tell me an answer. I'm sure someone has maxed both by now.

If you are a well geared mage, it is possible to aoe 7-9 zaxxis raiders at a time. Mobs are in clusters and it's easy to pull a few different clusters to you, especially running past them on your mount. At this rate you can farm around 2 Zaxxis insignia's per minute.

To make it easy, we'll say: 50 minutes aoe farming = 100 Insignias = 2500 rep.

I did revered to exalt in 2 days like this. If you can manage this, this is definately the fastest way to earn rep. I kept thinking if i had a healer with me we could probably clear near the whole Zaxxis camp=D Cause it would have been easy to pull more, just around 9-10 I take too much dmg. However, i am a deep fire mage. A deep ice mage could probably solo this spot even more effectively, since they can pretty much avoid taking any dmg. 10 was highest number of mobs for me.

im a mage arcane frost and i take about 5-6 at a time more with a healer i get more i got maybe5 per minute i say fire is better for aoe grinding but im 280 marks away from exalted

Personally i agree with the Zaxxis insignia method of getting rep. even from early on, its more efficient than mana-tombs, as they yield 7 rep per mob not including boss, whereas the insignias are equivalent of 25 each insignia, and they have a very high drop rate. i found the raiders to drop more insignias, but thats just me.

My friends and I were making about 7,000 rep an hour using this method.

When exalted you can go grab a bag of gem each month at the Nagrand outpost (31,52). Our first bag had 4 blue and 2 green gems.

You need the following group:

1 tank with 200+ arcane resist
1 healer
2-3 dps (works better if melee or hunter)

Here's how:

Go to mana-tombs heroic with your group.
You have to clear your way to the first room where the boss is standing.
Kill everything except for 2 of the Ethereal Sorcerer.

Now, when you enter that room, on your left there is a big chunk of floor that is going up, like a ramp. Get your tank to grab the 2 sorcerers and tank the behind that big ramp, so that their spells won't affect the rest of the party.
But the tank needs to be in LoS from the healer standing on the other side.
Once the tank has enough initial aggro, he has to un-equip his weapon and spam Demo shout.

What happens is that the sorcerers will summon 2 small adds about every 10-15 seconds. The healer will get aggro from theses adds and they will come toward him, thats where the dps takes them down, they have very little hp, something like 4k. Be careful as they AoE explode for quite a bit and the bad part.. they aoe silence.. Thats why dps has to intercept them before they get to the healer.

You can all exit the instance if the hp of the sorcerers gets too low in order to reset them to 100%

Each add gives 15 consortium rep. 4 of them spawn each 10-15 seconds.

As of 2.3, new quests will be availible yielding Consortium Reputation. These are daily quest targeting random instances. Rewards different things depending on whether you do it on Heroic or Normal. You can get 2 Consortium Daily Quests per day, one for Heroic and one for Normal.

Reward (Normal): Ethereum Prison Key, Gold and Consortium Reputation.
Reward (Heroic): 2x Badge of Justice, Gold and Consortium Reputation.

New daily quests are available in the Lower City for 5 man heroic and non-heroic dungeons
(Once at a time, a bit like battlegroundw weekends, each day you will get quests for a different
dungeons). The following non-heroic dungeons are concerned : Shattered Halls, Steamvault,
Shadow Labyrinth, Black Morass, Botanica, Mechanar, and Arcatraz. All dungeons will get
quests in Heroic mode. If you're getting the non-heroic and the heroic quest on the same day
for the same dungeon, you can complete both by running it in heroic mode once.

Non heroic quests will reward you with a Ethereum Prison Key (various reputation), gold,
and reputation with the Consortium.

Heroic quests will give you 2 Badges of Justice, gold, and reputation with the Consortium.

Just to futher confirm - The zaxxis insignia's that can easily be farmed off the mobs south of area 52 is MUCH MUCH better reputation/hr than anything else.

As a warlock I am able to clear an entire camp (20+ mobs) in one pull, making this absolutely insane farming. I reached exalted in 4 days, going from mid friendly, and not farmning that hard.

Just a quick note - this faction is terrible for warriors and alchemists and i'm both. Even for most other classes/professions, these suck. The only reason to get exalted is to get the better gems from the monthly gift bag. The weapons are terrible, the recipes/schematics are so-so and the "epic" trinkets are little more than blues in disguise.

I wouldn't bother farming the rep - just do it passively by running instances or doing the new dungeon dailies.

Well, i just did the ENTIRE honored to revered by grinding Zaxxis Raiders and Stalkers.. I did do two quests for 750 rep total

over 520 total kills, a good 3/4 to 4/5 of them Raiders.
300 Insignias turned in.
7 keys dropped, 7 I.D.s turned in

Done in a few hours of playing on a 70 Enh Sham

Definately the best way to gain rep, but now i never wanna see another insignia... EVER

Consortium is a great faction for jewelcrafter, as it has a lot of recipes but its a pain to gain level.

The best way i found was to do the ivory quest (repeatable) to gain friendly, sometimes you find those tusks in AH fairly cheap.

Mana tombs about 4 times will get you to honored, so its important if u levelling to get a grp u will get xp and consortium rep as possibly some gear.

At honored u should be up to netherstorm where there's an easy 12000 rep worth of quests. And you should be able to do this as you level up to 70. i was able to get to honored at 70 with all the netherstorm quests to do.

As far as MT it mean you have to be in queue all the time once you reach 63/64.

My style of levelling is to do alot of instances so if you rather quest it might want to adjust to your play style.

I must be unlucky or something, but still Zaxxis insignias drop rate for me is like 1 out of 4-5 mobs, so I prefered doing ogres in Nagrand, at least there the drop rate is 33% for sure. BTW, you can turn in Warbeads up to Exalted and if you want even afterwards.

Yes it is Mana Tombs that gives consortium rep although I would suggest doing all the quests first and the dailies thru revered then do the Heroic Dungeons that give more rep then regular dungeon thru exalted. I wish they gave more quests because personnally I can never find groups for dungeons seeing as how I am in a low pop server and I hate grinding rep.

The Consortium vendors all live in the Eco-domes in Netherstorm (45,25 - 45,56). In addition to the rep-based stuff theres a guy who sells lots of pets (the lvl 1, just for show type).

- You can turn in Crystals and wild elekk tusks to get from neutral to friendly.

- You turn in Mag'Har beads to get rep in Nagrand

- You turn in Heap of Ethereals to Nether-Stalker Khay'Ji in Area 52 (Netherstorm, (32,64))

The trick is to not do any Consortium quests in Nagrand or Netherstorm, and just re-run Mana-Tombs until honored, then do all the quests. that will get you very close to Revered. then it's beads or crystals to grind up.

if your a jewelcrafter your gonna need to get revered with the consortium, they have a vendor inside karazhan who sells designs for some powerful meta gems, one of which has 26 healing, yes 26, and 2% threat reduction and thats the design that requires revered so everyone will be wanting it

I've gone well into Revered in the course of farming those Zaxxis mobs for netherweave cloth (they may not have best drop rate, but they're really close to a town that has a bank). No matter where you get your rep from, though, you're in for a pretty mindless grind. I suggest just doing it for an hour or two each day, or until you get bored. What's also nice about the Zaxxis guys is that they don't hit very hard, unlike the ogres. And they're all melee.

I have done both. I recommend the Northern Nagrand Ogres myself (locks and warriors). Especially if you mine. The Zaxxis are difficult to attack without drawing bunches in the fray. The patches seem to have a tad better drop rate but with the Orges I never have to heal myself, they drop a ton of Netherweave, 4 or 5 Adamantite nodes consistently appear in that area. Ogres also drop a lot more Healing pots than Zaxxis it seems. Plus you get Maghar rep for the kills and beads for Consortium. Perfect place IMO. Also get creative. I tell questers I will help them take down their elite quests if they let me pick up all the Warbeads on the way up and back. You pick up warbeads fast that way. However, if you have someone helping for strictly for rep then go Zaxxis in Netherstorm for the drop rate.

friendly is very easy to get without trying by doing the quests at aeris landing, it also helps if you ran mana tombs around lvl 65. at honored i farmed ogre war beads in nagrand, the drop rate is lower than zaxxis insignias and if your farming at level 70 its just as easy to kill the zaxxis ethereals so i would do that. also now that the new quests have come out in the last patch, zaxxis etherals have the chance to drop ethereum prison keys, ive been farming for a couple hours and gotten 5 keys already.

10 insignias = 250 rep
40 insignias = 1k rep
1 prison key = 250 rep
4 prison key = 1k rep

also farming humanoids such as ethereals gives huge amounts of netherweave cloth to sell which is typically 4 or 5 gold on my server at the AH. also of the 5 prison keys i used, 3 of the monsters freed dropped blue items

if you have the means, then Nstorm is so much greater than nagrand

Yes to see the prison keys you must complete a quest first in northern netherstorm. Any etheral can drop the prison keys even in blades edge, but everyone farms the heap as you can get the insignias too for rep grind.
Also, you can look for group for tempest keep instances while you grind, and you are close to area 52 for repairs and vendoring and turning in the insignias. Keys drop at different intervals, from 1 in every 50 to one in every 20. As a prot warrior I pull 3-4 at a time, kill them, loot, heal, and pull more.
Consortium has nothing for a prot warrior but the rep is good for the monthly bag of gems you get from the npc in nagrand for "Benefits reward" repeatable quest.

i just got exalted and got the relentless earthstorm diamond meta for my JC, i was wondering when do the gem bags become available again? the last time i was honored and got 3 of the lower green gems, i'm not sure when they restart and can get them again, i'm thinking a month later the gems become available again and hopefully now that i'm exalted i'll get some blues that i can make into stuff and sell for good $$, i still have to go to kara to get the healing meta i'm a holy pally so that will come in handy =) good luck farming all, i grinded to honored doing a few mana tombs runs combined with farming warbeads, then did netherstorm quests with a friend of mine got me almost to revered then just grinded insignias and keys to exalted, grinding keys and insignias is definitely the best and most profitable way to go, got very sizeable amount of greens from the zaxxis guys as well as a ton of greens and occasional blues from the keys, not to mention 500 rep with various other factions, on top of the netherweave cloths and 15-20s per mob. i just get the greens de'd from a friend i have about 8 stacks of arcane dust and 4 stacks of greater planar essence just from this not including any other quest, i also got an extremely rare and valuable LW recipe to drop (Pattern: Windslayer Wraps - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29728/pattern-windslayer-wraps) to drop from one of these guys on my last days of farming =) cheers!

As of patch 9.1, you can farm Nexus-Prince Shaffar in Mana-Tombs on heroic difficulty up to Exalted. I pulled the boss and let him spawn Ethereal Beacon's that after some time turn into Ethereal Apprentices. These apprentices give 25 or 26 rep per kill (with Darkmoon Faire buff) or 21 rep without DMF buff. I even left during the fight w/out killing him and headed back to the DMF in order to reapply my buff. He spawns them quite regularly and I am getting a consistent 1,000 rep every 10 minutes. Make sure you don't accidentally kill him but this should get you exalted without having to farm Warbeads or do quests.

From 0 Revered to Exalted, if you're getting around 1,000 rep every 10 minutes. You'll need 210 minutes in order to reach exalted.
