Excited to see armor crafting professions having a form of stable income that's not reliant of sheer RNG. Also, it's about time that scribes get something to sell that isn't just glyphs and contracts.

Have some mixed feelings on needing to use an "optional" item to boost the ilvl at creation, instead of having an item that you use to upgrade your legendary at a later date (though I'd have to see just how expensive or rare all the reagents are going to be before I start complaining).

So do we keep upgrading one legendary piece throughout the expansion, or will we have to craft new legendaries each tier to match the increasing ilevels? I'm wondering how easy it will be to maintain legendaries for classes that play dual spec (or more), or even for those who enjoy pve and pvp, since it looks like each of those would likely prefer different legendary powers.

Seriously? How high the % drop chance of Stoffa Ammantata from mobs? Because I though it would be forever curse of endless grinding and only low chance to get both Stoffa Ammantata and Seta Oscura Incantata. And each of the cloth ranks must be crafted to reach rank 4, really? I hope it could be lessen the rank/ lower the sum of material.

From what i understand, you basically need to craft 10x a rank 1, then 20x a rank 2, then 20x a rank 3 item to learn how to craft a rank 4. That's 190k gold worth of Orboreal shard (sold by merchants). Per item.

1 520 000 gold in Orboreal shards to learn all eight recipes at rank 4.

And that's without taking into consideration actual materials like ores, cloth and leathers. And enchanters-enhanced cloth/ore/leathers.
Some will regret spending every penny they had on the longboi xD.

I can't see a Grim-Veiled Cape in the Base Items crafted by Tailors - is it not added or am I missing something?

I wonder... what if, let's say, I pick the wrong stats for my legendary or I decide to switch spec and I have this defensive legendary that I still want to use but it has the wrong stats... do I have to craft the legendary from zero or there is a way to simply change the stats?

Nice, Alchemy gets the shaft....again. Also, thank God for transmog because the leather set is hideous. Drop the fins on the gloves and boots...and what's with all the crowny helms?

I did not see this answered here so I tested it out myself. You do not need to start from the lower ilvl legendary base item to craft a higher base item legendary. As long as you have the soul ash that is necessary for that ilvl base item, you can craft that item.

so ive crafted a few pieces but it looks like currently you cannot transmog this appearance unless you have the item equipped, so the armor "sets" can't really be re-created as of now... do you have to collect 1 of each slot to do so, or is this just something in a future patch/season to look forward to?

Can you farm the same level over and over in the hopes a legendary power will eventually drop for you? i.e without going to the next level... make the farming easier... Or are you better off increasing your chances by running a 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 etc 5 chances that the legendary will drop verus you doing a single 7 not gettin it and now you've exhausted the lower chances you might have had to get it?

last chapter: 'Shadowlands Legendary Transmogs: Maw Raid Sets' sounds missleading. i would go for: 'Shadowlands Legendary Untransmogable Appearances of the Maw Sets' and skip any mentioning of raids on this one.

This is the amount of time it will take for you to get your legendary from 190 to 235, its a bit mesy cuz i don't know how to really use wowhead reply system.
But i hope it will be to ur help anyway.

Legendary Upgrade cost;
190 > 210: 750
210 > 225: 1200
225 > 235: 1950
Weekly full Clear: 1140 soulash

Weeks it takes to upgrade ur legenadry if u do them on reset:

If you do the weekly quests to unlock twisting corridors with the weekly reset

You also have the legendary sidequest thats available once a week which gives you ash to unlock the third instance. (The Catchup System affects this)
As of the 3rd Feburary, they hotfixed it so these can be done in all the different layers, you were only locked to the specified layers previously, the quest info can be wrong and will work even if it is.

Does anyone know....do you have to start at the lowest rank for the base and level it up or can you buy one of the highest ranks for your base and just craft that? The mats involved are insane. I guess I'm looking for a shortcut.

soul ash
an 'elementary' source - once invested , does not disappear. so it is never a waste to make a legendary item that you know you will wear or that you will replace or upgrade. the addon WEAKKEYS has a simple calculator for keeping an eye on things.

the gold cost of the pieces can be quite high and take weeks to accumulate for snap-purchases. the soul ash & soul cinder cost as well take weeks to accumulate.

gather what you can, weekly. upgrade what you need for the week if it is reasonable enough! the *effect* of runecarving will not be adjusted in tiers with upgrades, so begin measuring the impact of your legendary effect as soon as it occurs to you to do so

i recommend favoriting the AH listings for several item levels of several slots for your armor type, and, rings & necks & cloaks . the price drops will happen that will blow your mind and it is OK to store them in your bank for later on . sometimes you can spend 5 gold on a 210 item for a future legendary that will be worth crafting.

If you want to go straight to the 291 crafted legendary, you'll need 2000 Cosmic Flux + 1650 Soul Cinders + 5150 Soul Ash per legendary. You can purchase the ash/cinders for alts from Bonesmith Heirmir in Korthia for Ash/Cinders (with a cut for the seller, of course... 250 cinders purchased with 300 cinders). You can then send the box of mats to your alt.
