For those interested in the lore, this weapon is actually the broken hilt of a death knight's runeblade. Marduk Blackpool fought an unnamed dwarven captain at Corrin's Crossing, and his runeblade broke on the dwarf's enchanted shield. Most of the blade sank into the earth, creating the "Infectus Scar".

Marduk, who is now a tutor in Scholomance, still bears the hilt. Technically, this is a runeblade, or part of one.

From a gameplay standpoint, it's very rare to see him drop this - or drop anything at all, for that matter.

Drop rate is just very low.

good sword if u cant get dal rends or krol etc,
proc just about kills it for use by a rogue

the proc doesn't 'kill it for us rogues' IMO. its only 3 seconds, so you can wait a lil' while to gouge/blind etc... I haven't seen it proc yet, but just got it tonight when someone did the quest there. And on Kilrogg,everybody loves scholo! lol 'everybody hates scholo' I totally disagree. So much good loot :D

i would think that this sword is amazing for a rogue, with quick attack speed and this in the main hand, it would proc often, and since it dosent last a long period of time, it wont break a rogue's gouge or blind, at least not very often

If it is the same sword he uses it looks cool as hell.<edit> It's not the same sword he uses but I submitted a picture and it still looks cool as hell hope it pops up for you guys to see.

The easiest way to kill Marduk Blackpool is to get dawns gambit and use it in the viewing room it turns the school kids into AoEable skellies.
It also frees up Vectus so you can try and get him to drop his nice cloth caster pants.

You get dawns gambit by doing the entire eggsciloscope questline (including the part from Winterspring) started in Burning Steppes then you can reuse the dawns gambit by getting it from Bettina in Lights Hope Chapel.

Marduk usually drops next to nothing, but with the large sum of scholomance runs he is too easy to pass up.

FINALLY GOT THE SWORD! Took me so freaking long, i killed him like 35 times or more. Wasnt that lucky but im glad i did him so many times, i got so much exp

Hmmm, this or bonechill hammer? for mainhand..
this is higher ss dmg, bonechill is higher damage from normal attacks, bonechill looks better imo and dosent have that annoying dot proc that would break blind/gouge.. i dunno, guess i'll go for this

I killed Mardruk 15 times, luckily i got his death knight sabatons but no freaking sword. I got his boots twice and its 4% why cant i freaking find the sword!
