Where is the quest for these, I have like 10 of them and i know they'll disappear if i leave the BG.

I have asked around and no one knew.

The soldier's medals you can turn in at the gryphon guy, but the higher ranking ones, I have been unable to figure out

look here for other medal
there its said that u have to do a quest to turn the medals in
think i was looking for nearly all guys at ally-side - but no npc has a quest for me for this medals.
but maybe he is hide in a secret place? :)

You have to escort a Wing Commander back to base and then he'll ask for medals. There are 3 commanders for the alliance (captured in the horde bases) and 3 commanders for the horde (captured in alliance bases). They each ask for a different medal.

as far as i found out for now the 3 commanders for the alliance are :
1) for the soldiers medals
in the horde tower half the way from iceblood graveyard to frostwolf graveyard
2) for the leutenant medals
in the outer courtyard of the horde hq in the second tent to the right, right after you enter through the main entrance
3) for the commanders medal
in the inner courtyard of the horde base in one of the 2 towers (i think it was the eastern one)

they all can be spoken to and once anyone on your team does this, this npcs will try to run back from theire position to the alliance hq where they will stop at the 2 gryphons (south end of the allied hq). so be sure to tell your team to wait with speaking to them until the way back is save, if theese npcs die you missed the only chance to turn in the medals.

To be able to deliver the medals you need to free the commanders. I have ony seen one of them next to to the south bunker by the griffins in Dun Baldar.

Every time I get to let a bird out... But not deliver the Frostwolf Soldier's Medal. Happed two times in the same game.

You need more than 75 of these medals for him to come out...and yes..sometimes i like to just farm insignias, I escorted Slid back and i turned in 75 of the medals and he didnt give me the option for the beacon.

When he has all the medals he needs - I'm not sure how many he needs, does anyone know? - there is a dialogue option to speak to him and ask for a beacon. Place the beacon in one of the two craters on the central battleground, with the scarred earth. I believe Slidore's beacon is to be placed at the eatern crater, farthest from the Snowfall graveyard. The two cartrs are not that far apart actually.

The other wing commanders also give beacons: one is to be placed in the other crater, and one on top of the mountain of Snowfall Graveyard, just south of the flag.

If there are two or more wing commanders that have beacons ready, do NOT take more than one beacon. After placing one there is a 30 minute cooldown before you can place another beacon. Have someone else take the other beacon!
