You are more likely to see this on a rogue or warrior because of the attack power bonus, that and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=18713 is better for a hunter

DON'T judge every hunter, because you've met some greedy ones, we're one of the most popular classes, and thereby have ALOT of idiots playing hunters. The rest of us, actually know when to pass items on to classes, that can put it to better use, and know something about grouping with others.
This bow is worse than the epic quest reward bow, I would personally not use it, if I had the quest bow already.
But ranged weapons, is just as important to a hunter, as a melee weapon is to rogues/warriors etc. And should/will go to a hunter by default, unless the person has better.
I don't know if all of you rogues/warriors claiming ranged weapons, is being sarcastic, or just greedy. Never the less, you will NEVER get your hands on such a weapon with that attitude, you would simply be unwanted by a serious raid group - since you making such comments would be enough proof to show, that you care about your own abilities, rather than your groups.
Not saying that you can be tracked here - blahblahblah, but if you start complaining about a hunter getting a blastershot, while already having a strikers mark or equal, you will get into trouble, since ranged weapons it a hunters priviledge within a group, just like rogues, get's first dibs on daggers etc.
Stop moaning/complaining/whining about greedy hunters, if you judge the class that way you won't ever get further than ubrs/stratholme/scholomance.

the +24 attack power DOES add to ranged dmg. heres how that stuff works: buffs such as battle shout and Blessing of might adds attack power, and those "buffs" only add to mele. +attack power to weapons/armor, like on this bow will increase ranged DMG. what class uses bows, many do, rogues, warriors, hunters, but what class uses nothing BUT ranged? Hunters of course! 95% of all the dmg i do is ranged. case closed, and i look down apon the warrior/rogue who won this over a hunter. shame on you.

this would be good for anyone who could use it. hunters would obviously benifit from the damage and the attack power+agility, but so would any other class. The only reason i wouldn't see a hunter using this, is teh fact that they can get Rhok'Delar. It has the same dps, and it gives +1 to crit. this bow does have +more attack power, but i would rather have Rhok' Delar.

Rhok'Delar blows this &*!@ out of the water. End of Story. Obviously Cross-bow of Smiting does, too.

I would never spend DKP on this. (or use it over Rhok)

Considering the guild that downs him once, then most probably has the boss on "farm" mode after that (i.e. they can kill him with few wipes, then almsot blindfolded after that).

This bow will go the way of most tier 1 epic armour.

Disenchanted to shards as everyone already has the bow, or has something better allready.

Most hunters going in here will probably already have their epic quest bow, and it will be the warriors/rouges who would use this as an upgrade anyway.

1/ Rhokdelar adds +1% crit amongst attack power. With a 0.3 speed difference, even with patch 1.10 nerfs, it will still blow Heartstriker out of the water.

2/ This bow is only for hunters who don't have Rhokdelar. Why would a rogue/warrior spend DKP on +20 power? Striker's Mark/Blasertshot with +1% hit +1% crit are much better! If it wasn't for the cool looks, no rogue/warrior will bother to post here.

3/ "Wait for Athjere'thu..."? Whatever. The drop rate for crossbow and difficulty of Chrom puts this bow far more likely to get than the crossbow.

It would be really nice if all the arguements about these ranged weapons being automatic hunter weapons or not would stop. Everyone keeps posting stuff but most people say either something stupid, or something that has already been said.

Here are three main situations. Read them and then stop fighting about it for good:

1. Ok, so obviously hunters need a good range weapon for damage. There is the hunter-only bow that many people get, and this is the main cause of arguements. "Oh, you don't need this ranged weapon because you can get Rhok" is something you'll hear a lot. If a hunter does have Rhok, or can easily get Rhok, then if a slightly better ranged weapon drops, I would say that it's a judgement call for those involved. There will always be a grey area that people will fight over. Just deal with the situation in your group. There are no general statements that you can make on message baords because there are too many factors involved in this case... so STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.

2. If a ranged weapon that is a fair amount better than Rhok (not a whole lot of them at the moment) then the hunter should have priority.

3. If for some reason a good epic ranged weapon drops and the hunter does not have Rhok or 'easy' access to it, then the hunter should have priority. So you know where I'm coming from, I'm a PvP hunter with little desire to do instances. I'll get any decent epic ranged weapon that I can get, and then I wouldn't try to get another one. I have a Bloodseeker and I am now trying to get something better. If that ends up being Rhok, so be it, but I would prefer something else. I think it's pretty lame that most end-game hunters walk around with the same weapons. I'd prefer something a little less cliche.

(also, just to touch upon the melee weapon discussion: That is also based completely on the situation and group that you're in, so it's pointless to argue in generalizations about it. Facts are, hunters CAN melee fairly well if they are survialist, and if they do PvP they will melee a good amount. For PvP, slow weapons with agility, crit, attack power, and stam are very good for hunters. When discussing in your groups, take that into account and decide accordingly).

Not to have everyone cry on my shoulder or anything, but Petrified Leaves don�t fall out of Azshara. I know that the guild I'm in doesn't even go to MC because they are so into BWL, Aq40, and starting in Nax. I don't have Rhok yet, and I probably won't for a while unless I run with another guild.

This bow would probably just hold me over till Rhok...and you know what? That's just fine. How many weapons do rogues rock? "Oh, I need this mace for SS crits" and "I need these daggers for back stab crits". I don't care about that. Take any of the weapons you want, I'm happy with my Ashkandi (Yeah, Hunter with Brotherhood). I myself have only done BWL once, and that was a summon to the final boss (where I picked up said sword). I'm still using a blue item bow and I've been to places like Aq20, Aq40, ZG, BWL, and Molten Core (where at the end, the eye dropped). It is ridiculous to think that any one would roll over a hunter for this, purely on the thought that they would get something better. Yeah, we probably will...but you know what? It'll take time to get something better, just as it took time to replace your daggers, or swords, or maces, or whatever (Pointing to both parties now, Warriors and Rogues). Rhok is an awesome bow, but just because it is an epic item that is specifically made for hunters, it doesn't mean we should stop there.

If you guys are so hardcore about taking this thing, rock on. If a hunter wants it, you shut your mouth because I can bet you dollars to donuts that he/she isn't going to roll on the Dragonflight sword, or even the Tempered Sword. Any dagger/sword/2handed sword that a hunter has that isn�t normally associated with hunters doesn�t mean he ninjaed it. I got my sword because no one wanted the thing they were going to DE it. People need to whine less when you see a hunter with a Core Hound Tooth and Fang of the Faceless, because it�s just retarded of you guys to assume that there was a raid full of people who �should� have these instead of being the only hunter in ZG/Aq20 that would like it (I�ve run ZG two times being the only hunter. Win win win. Wasn�t even a rogue in the raid.)

Get off your high horses and follow the situation. If someone posts that it�s a hunter weapon�let them! They probably aren�t even in a raid guild, so it doesn�t even matter. Hunters are just as tired of being placed with a few of the people that are �greedy� as much as Rogues and Warriors are of accusing and seeing hunters step a little out of �line�. I love having my two handed sword, and I�ve got plenty of tells calling me a noob, ninja or whatever. I stopped explaining what happened and just started to call them jealous. If you want a weapon so bad, join a raiding guild�don�t ^&*!@ on Thott.

I got this bow tonight (60 troll rogue)
Haven't really had the chance to use it much yet, but I love it. All of the hunters in my guild have Rhok, so this was going to a melee class. Also got bloodfang belt tonight.

A bow like this should defenitley be hunter prio, we do like 95% of our damage with ranged weapons, and rouges/warriors does 1% of it with ranged weapons, yeah i know that AP, and Stamina is nice, but still we would benefit this item 10times more than you guys, that's like a hunter getting Claw of the frost wyrm over a rouge!

It will probably go to rogues and warriors in most circumstances. Fact of the matter is if you are clearing BWL, every one of your hunters will have their quest bow which is superior.

In regards to priority, if a hunter wanted it, they'd have to pay the full DKP value and would most likely get it. Rogues and Warriors on the other hand will wait for the secondary value so they don't lose a ton of DKP on a ranged weapon.

DKP works really well. Most people who are saying "OMG HUNTERS USED RANGED" probably won't see this drop ever. If you were a hunter currently running MC, BWL, and beyond, you wouldn't even want this.

Lol. to all the noobs here that keep saying this is a hunter weapon and it shouldent go to melee class's or blah blah blah. Lol i bet you arnt even in a raid guild because this bow would be great for any melee OR ranged class. its just on who ever wins it can use it as he or she pleases

oh definetly well give it to melle classes cuz it has AP. Oh and then us hunters will just ninja all of the melle weapons because it has something useless liek defense rating definetly. i will make sure to roll on emerald ripper and malchezeen next time im running kara just to piss off the melee classes

So let me get this strait. I'm a warrior, and want a bow for pulling. If I simply have this equipped in the ranged wep slot, will it give me the buffs even if I'm not weilding it?

Rhok'dolar is far better than this (imo). If you have Rhok with 2 agil enchanted Dawn's or agil enchanted Dal'rends, that would be the best combination. And, since Mature Black Dragon Sinew is a 100% drop and the Leaf is 50%, every hunter should have it eventually. Knowing this, this makes Heartstiker a Rogue/Warrior weapon. This is very upsetting, because I don't see any 1-handers with crit to ranged and plenty of agility or 2-handers with 2% crit and 30+ agility. If warriors/rogues get a ranged... where's the hunter melee weapon(s) from BWL?

Not if you already have a ton of crit. As a fury warrior with 27 crit easily, without even trying for crit, I'll say that this is a minimal upgrade from my riphook, but it's there. Strikers mark is -still- the ideal melee bow, then crossbow of imminent doom.

It's more raw dps than rohk'delar, if i had both, i would use rohk in staff form and this. That way i get the crit chance, more dps/ap, and also te great stat benefits of lohk delar. Though, only having a dwarven hand cannon at this point,damn good all i can say is i would most certainly not complain using this, or using rohk delar. Anyways, nice bow blizzard, give us higher dps guns now (aside from grand marshal weaponry)

Warrior here and I would definately roll on this bow. Pay attention and look at the stats, +9 sta (tank) +24 AP (note its AP not RP, of no use to hunters), not to mention the fact that the MT will be pulling to keep hate up. IMO this weapon is FAR more suited for the tank in the group than a hunter, only allow a hunter to roll if the tank already has one.

Thats because it is. This is quite obviously a hunters weapon, as all warriors will agree. So why is it that we have to put up with pathetic hunters posting all over our weapons simply because they have a measly 1% to crit or +9agi? Do your part and keep your kind off the warrior items.

The truth is spoken in one of these posts and verified by myself. 1.8 version of the game allows hunters to have both Bow + Staff which makes that weapon combo far superior to this bow, alltho i do have to admit i like the look of this one :)

Edit: the combo i'm talking about is Rhok + Lhok

This bow is awesome. Great DPS, great design, great in just about everything. Not to mention the fact that this is a drop, versus Rhok and the (somewhat) extensive quest.

While you Warriors and Rogues are spitting out some arguments and others are doing some lil' "IMO" comparisons, I think I'm gunna take the time to dish out my own opinion.

Now, les'say that I'm in BWL, without Rhok. Blahblahblahimpossible---It's hypothetical. Now les'say this bad boy drops. Would I roll? With every aspect so tempting? Never.

While this is very tasty to the eyes, Rhok is just more......more......Accompished.

Which one is better; Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood? Or Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros?

Would you rather have a purple you got at level 20, or a green, just as good, at level 40?

Rhok is Sulfuras, As Heartstiker is Ashkandi.

Rhok is much more special. The work it took with your gear back then. The work it took with the gear to be able to get this. A little different. It's not the gear and it's performance. It's not how fast you can do it.

this is the best bow included in wow (for rogues and warriors). i like its 24 attack power bonus and it has a good dps! the bow from honor gives you ranged attack that is good.. just for hunters. agil enchant on it.

In all honesty, looking at Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers and than looking at this makes me wonder, which a hunter would rather have? Looking at heartstriker as a damage warrior I'd definately get a boost out of the bow, but I'd never take a bow out of the hands of a primary ranged dps class.

In all honesty I think the only way a Hunter would get this would be if they didnt have the Rhok or anything better. BUT with that said it is still a Hunter weapon, if a Hunter wants it then he gets first dibs.

Personally though I wouldn't waste my DKP on this, although it is a very nice looking bow, I have my Rhok'delar and the Heartstriker is nothing in comparison. However this is just my opinion.

This weapon should go to hunters that have Rhok as a second weapon for raids (ex fight against nef who breaks your bow) Other classes shouldn’t be allowed to roll on hunter items like this. There are much better ranged weapons they can have that benefit them more. That goes for Xbow as well.

troll hunters may benefit more from heart striker than the chrommag xbow with the +5 bow skillz
