This is a decent Damage sword, but since it drops of the random week bosses, it is probably not worth the effort Bloodcaller and Azuresong Mageblade are much better alternatives.

since 1.8 all items are misreported in thottbot as + X mana every 0 seconds,

it's every five seconds, just as it always was.

Personally, as a lock, I wouldn't bid on it, a good lock has full Stam and/or + damage gear, and personally, I'd take something with stamina over this. Besides, with life tap for long boss fights, who needs + Mana over time?

PS: I am a staff lock, so I may not fully understand the appeal of this.

Thanks to righteous fury, we hold aggro with holy damage, not physical attack. The more + spell damage you got, the better aggro you secude.

paladin DO benefit from the +spell damage on the weapon, more so than strengh actually.

Paladins can make use of spell damage, why do you think judgment has a whole bunch of it?

This is a nice sword for the people doing ZG, but if you are doing any other instances there are better weapons out there. Personally I use the azuresong mageblade on my paladin
