Interestingly, it seems the bag will not drop if you have a Disgusting Oozeling pet summoned. That or I just have the worst possible luck (3 hours of straight killing without a single drop).

I kill some more and see what happens, and post update in a few days.

Apparently you can send these to another character and the contents will change. So if you open one up and there isn't a pet inside, send it to an alt and open it up on that char and you may get lucky.

I can say with a large degree of certainly that Oozing Bags do NOT drop in Western Plaguelands anymore. This is after 4 hours of farming the slimes without a single bag drop (yet three Nature Protection Recipes from the behemoths in that time.)

Felwood is the only place where these definitely drop from what I can tell.

I believe they drop from the level 30 or so slimes in Wetlands too, the ones you kill to finish https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=470 Digging Through the Ooze, seems to be much easier to kill those I would say

This dropped to me today from felwood slimes, had 17s and an aquamarine in it.

Well.. atleast its not a broken shoe or an arrowhead :)

Dropped from tainted in Felwood.

I killed around 2,000 - 3,000 oozes in that area since the patch was added. Today after the 1.9.1 patch the oozling dropped for me. I have only been killing oozes for the past week.

There isn't really any trick to this, kill oozes till the bag drops, hope you get lucky. For me it was 157 bags. A bag will drop about every 5 to 15 times a specific ooze is killed.

There are about 16 oozes near the lake that the road crosses, then about 7 on the river, then another dozen in the 2 pools south of the river (the pools which have Tainted oozes)

I got a purple world drop(hurricane), many greens. The greens and junk loot sold for about 250g to vendors. I probably would have traded the gold and the hurrican for the pet but none were ever for sale.

You may get lucky and get it in your first bag.

as of tonight i'm at 1225 tainted ooze kills...
127 greys, 15 greens, 1 blue, and 2 epics have dropped...

and still no disgusting oozeling.

oh well. keep on grindin.

i killed bout 30 of em a i got 5 bags and 1 green, but no pets. :^(

Farmed for 3 hours, Tainted Ooze, Felwood. Not a single bag drop.

Edit: 4 hours now, still not a single bag drop. Has this been changed? All i get is silver, broken weapons and the odd lifeless skull. Nothing else

Try switching the kind of ooze...sometime it drops more

1st bag- 20ish silver stranglekelp MAILED 20ish silver and swiftthistle
2nd bag- 20ish silver MAILED nothing happend
3rd bag- 20ish silver MAILED healing pots
4th bag- 20ish silver MAILED golden samstram
...
about the 20th bag 20ish silver MAILED disgusting oozeling!
(mailing may change the amout of silver in a bag also)

if my calculations are correct... you would have to kill 1250 of the highest percent of bag dropping oozes, its an 8% drop...

then you would gt about 100 bags... so hopefully one of them will contain an Oozling :)

Edit: if you don't want to farm a rare spawn all day... the highest percent drop rate is from the Living Decay :)

Hmm so far ive killed 162 tainted ooze and got 7 bags
No oozeling yet =/
but im going to keep trying!

Hiya. I am a lvl 60 trying to get an oozeling for my daughter. I have killed over 500 in felwood with no luck. I Just wanted to wish all of you good luck and say dont give up! Just work for your oozeling a litle while longer and when you get it , it will be so worth it!

I got one, here's the trick.

Do it while you are leveling. Every time you cross the spawns locations of these guy take a few extra steps to kill a few, but don't stop to farm you will have tons of chances.

First in felwood as you are running in and out of the village in the west.

Then to ungoro killing primal oozes (LET THEM CLONE!) the clone's can drop the bag (where I got mine). And on the west side of ungoro everytime you pass a 51 or higher kill it.

The same story goes for WPL and EPL don't just stand there and farm, odds are if you work these spawn points into your leveling paths you will kill a good 1000+ slimes between the levels of 49-57. If this doesn't work, finish leveling to 70 then come back and just wreck shop in EPL or WPL (highest spawn densities).

The ooze is very cool, although I hope you like the bubbling squishy noise you hear at the base of undercity or when fighting oozes because you will be hearing a LOT of it with this pet out. Note how the aura can make your mount look really cool too, if you have a purple mount it will turn this sick color of greenish black.

i'm surprised to get the drop rate im getting now in WPL. i have yet to see one, and ive been farming for living breastplate for a long time now. but the first day of 1.9, i got 3 or 4 in a row in felwood randomly. i thought these had a very high drop rate since then, and attributed these low %'s to the fact that its a new item that only started dropping recently on mobs that had been farmed for 1000's of kills prior to 1.9

i got like 8 so far in Felwood most have about 20 - 25 silver, one gave me a greeen bow and another gave me the enchant fomula for superior stamina

7,045 Kills To Get This Pet Drop. Either the drop rates are beyond inaccurate or my luck was extremely bad. Probably both. Screw every single slime in the game. (3,049 Vile Slime / 1,974 Devouring Ooze / 2,022 Tainted Ooze)
