well unfortunately, given the required mats it's not looking like it will get your engineering to 375... Assuming it will be added in the next patch as well.

but why? i believe every other profession has a 28 slotter...the ways of Blizzard are unknown.

Because there's just not enough even non-useful stuff in Engineering to warant a 28 slot bag.

It's sad, but Blizzard completely lost the "path" for Engineering.
Engineering was: Powerful, but highly unreliable. Versatile, but a PITA to construct with all the diverse mats.
Engineering *is*: Epic goggles. Rocket Launcher for Goblins. (that's it)

The problem really is that they discontinued all the great ideas in engineering, without ever upgrading them.
Death Rays, Shrink Rays, Bomb Dispensers, Explosive Sheep, Net-O-Matics, Invisibility Cloak, all those things are *cool* to use. And they got downsides, backfires, all the stuff which defines typical engineering "work".

And in TBC, it's reduced to 2 types of grenades (the Goblin ones are too weak compared to the normal ones to warrant their horrible costs, the flameturret is a joke), only 1 useful trinket (Rocket Launcher - Chicken Ray doesn't work where it could be useful, in the arena), and only 1 useful gearitem (Goggles).

are you kidding me? I have a Fel Iron toolbox, and I have about 20 slots filled with useful items, and there are some items I still want to get. If these toolboxes were still in existence, I would have absolutely no problem filling it up.

The thing I love about engineering is when you make something, theres a good chance you are going to use it through the whole game. At level 66, I still carry around a gnomish cloaking device for example. I have a gnomish net-matic-projector that still comes in handy. I keep a parachute cloak handy. Another thing I've done, is as a goblin engineer there are some gnomish engineer items that can only be created by gnomish engineers, but can be used by any type of engineer (net-o-matic projector for example). Most of the backfires you'll find are within goblin engineering. there are a few outside of it, for example all the ultrasafe transporters in gnomish engineering have a possiblity of backfiring, but even then the backfire isn't anything drastic. The dimensional ripper: everlook's backfires are when you teleport to the place, theres a chance you'll be turned into a murloc and not be able to move for about 8 seconds, that you'll set on fire and take some damage, or gain a debuff called "evil twin" where a warlock can not summon you for an hour. All the backfires are very minor when they do occur, and occur very seldom. With my Goblin Dragon Gun, I wouldn't be surprised if the backfire happened less than a tenth of all uses. Also, you did mention the Goblin Rocket Launcher. I have that thing, and it's amazing. Against enemies my own level(level 66), I take away about 20% of their health from one blast. This thing only has a 2 minute cooldown, which I think is ridiculously low for what it does, but hell, I'm not complaining. It also gives a pretty nice boost to your stamina, +16.

Also, my personal opinion is that if you are a tank, engineering is amazing for you. I'm a prot specced paladin, and I love when I'm tanking for an instance and there are about 5 or so enemies on me, to just throw down a grenade or something. By the way, there are actually 4 types of useful grenades. Adamantite Grenades, Arcane Bombs(caster killer, silences all it hits for 5 seconds, drains about on average 900 mana, and does half of that as health damage), frost grenades(good for escaping any situation), and The Bigger One.

Engineering is my favorite profession. To me it is the most enjoyable, the best, and despite what you say, for the individual player the most useful. Ya, it's not like it's enchanting or anything, but I don't choose a profession unless it offers endgame benefits that only people who are of that profession have access to. I would never be an enchanter, and I would never be an alchemist.

The Rocket Launcher's Stamina bonus is +45, not +16.

I'd also like to point out that the beauty of engineering, and thus the shame in removing this bag, is that it provides us with a wide variety of situational advantages, which is where having a larger bag comes in. Not every engineered item is useful in every scenario, so the bag provides an easy storage place, as all bags should. I myself have 2 Fel Iron Toolboxes in my bank, and I STILL need more room sometimes. Trinkets alone can fill almost an entire bag, and consumables/explosives easily top off the rest of the space.

It seems this item and some others have been given mat lists and the picture/mouse over description is changed to that as if it were in game. Was this added or is this in the PTR or something? Thanks if anyone can let us know.

I'd like to point out that every other profession has some good resale value, some thing that everyone needs (enchants, gems, spellthreads, etc).
It's just another example of engineers getting screwed over.

I carry a fel iron toolbox on me, as well as one in the bank, and they're always full, if not almost full. With stuff like flying machines and shell/arrow machines out with the release of 2.3, as well as engineering toolboxes now being able to contain primal air, fire or earth, I don't see why they wouldn't have something like this. I'd sure like having a couple myself.

I would also like to add that motes will be moved to your toolbox by default, even if you already have a stack of them in another bag. It can be a little confusing!

Also, engineering isnt going to give you the I win items, but you cannot say it doesnt have A LOT of benefits, from making your own bullets to your own flying machine. You cannot underestimate the trinkets such as the rocket launcher and poultryizer and the epic goggles and the teleportation trinkets and the mind control hat and the death ray, etc etc etc.

Above all else, engineering is just plain fun and blizzard has supplied us engineers with alot of toys to enjoy :-) So cheer up, its not so bad!

yes this should be put into the game as the items i tend to carry are goblin jumpercablesxl, regualrgoblin jumpercables, gnomish cloaking device, the everlook transporter,the area52 transporter, goblin rocket launcher, plus all the bombs and parts i make along the way ,all the bombs, flying mount my bs hammer and the wrench plus all the motes that drop so yeah i have 2-24slots toolboxes in my bank and one equipped at all times

If you want a 28 slot bag just for storing motes and primals u can use Spellfire Bag.

anyone know when it was removed from the game??

i am looking at the auction house right now while here at he sight and trying to figure out if the person help on to the toolbox this long or if someone is smoking crack but there is 2 toolboxes in the Auction on 5/14/08
