These axes rock. I have 2 of em on my shammy. The only thing I have found is that the +14 axe skill bonus is actually only +4. I put a ticket into Blizzard and they said they were aware of it but gave no mention of when if ever to expect a fix. 04-07-07

After seeing this in the AH for about 100-120g, I thought that I never get this, but today, I found it with only 12g. I have no idea why it was so cheap, but of course, I bought it. Now I just need 11 levels to use it, but it's good to know that you have a good weapon waiting for you :)

If you like the stats of this axe then you might want to get the Firebrand Battleaxe later on which is pretty much the level 70 version of this.

Just got my axe in Zangamarsh, it just droped off a one of the bog's in the spawning glen when i was farming rep with sporegar(64 fury warrior) works wonders and has a cool glow.

I got this as a drop from a thornfang bug in Hellfire, put it up on AH. Went to bed came back 118g richer!
I was only going to sell it for about 40, aswell. I hope whoever bought it enjoys it as much as I did!

SausageVendor is another one of the helmet wearing retards that seem to think only some classes can use specific weapons.... umm wake up monkey.... stam and Strength and DPS are for Enhancement shammys.... retard.

As an Ambidextrie fury Warrior lvl 65, I was lucky enough to buy one off them from a guildmate for 70 PO...and today, my best friend who play a BloodElfe Paly get an another one for we in the AH for 15 PO (amazing right).

I can't wait this evening to handle this twin ally shredeer ! ^^

I am a lvl 63 Warrior and have one of these for melee attacks, together with a Colossal War Axe of the Bandit. I assumed that I would get an additional 14 Axe Skill rating, but after hours of melee grinding with these axes I only get +4 Axe Skill. Is this a bug or is the +14 Axe Skill only for Warriors and the like?

What would you recommend enchanting these with on a lvl 63 Fury dual wielding Warrior? One with Fiery Weapon and the other with lifestealing? Or would it be better off to put Savagery and Mongoose or Crusader? Any opinions welcome. Thanks in advance.

I could really use this for faster leveling. This is one of the best Enhancement Shammy weapons at this low of a level. That I wouldn't think involves raiding...

I have two of these axes, and I've been using them on my shaman 63->67 and only now are they getting a little low on damage.

they look sweet, and give out a nice level of damage.

Edit - Picked them up for 50g each through a friend and from someone who didn't know how much it was worth.

I have these as a fury warrior 63-67 and i agree with the above comment the DMG is getting a little low, even as a dual weild. Had one given to me by a guildie and another was a random drop :) forgot what dropped it though oO

As a player who does not know the patch notes chapter and verse, I was not aware that weapon skill in some situations now does not mean actual weapon skill.

Forgive me for being confused, I used to have Edgemaster Handguards well before the 2.0 patch and they used to add +7 axe skill which actually translated to +7 axe skill. Since the 2.0 patch +axe skill on weapons no longer means that.

Easy to get confused when an Orc's racial ability gives them +5 Axe skill, which even since the patch STILL gives +5 Axe skill. And there is a warrior talent which, when you spend 2 points in it, actually says it increases your weapon skills by +4 and STILL does give +4 Weapon skill. And yet you now need a f*cking slide rule to work out what stats you actually get off a weapon that says it gives +14 Axe skill when it actually doesn't because Blizz in their infinite wisdom decided to invent an entirely new form of maths where the + sign doesn't actually mean + at all.

And whilst we are on the subject of being wrong, Weapon Skill DOES increase the damage a player does with a weapon on regular hits. Don't believe me? Go try out a character using a weapon the've not got maximum skill in and see how the damage increases as their weapon skill does....

Dropped of a Marshfang Slicer in Zangermarsh last nite. I was just grindin' and this baby dropped. Thank God im a warrior, so either way this is a good DW or tank axe. Definately an upgrade for my tank wep. Just ding'd 65 and hopin' to get Honed Voidaxe. Spec out with axe/polearm ftw.

Goes for about 100g+ on my server; Burning Legion.

i am 65 hunter just got the Honed Voidaxe this week.Very nice axe by the way. then this axe drop off a Dreadhawk in Terokkar Forest last night. iwas going to slap +25 Agil on the Honed Voidaxe but now i thinking should i dualweld two of these axe and slap +15 Agil on both of them. have mats for both axes by the way. which one would be better for me?

The + Axe slill only applies to the Crit+Dmg of the weopon since the expansion. Skill Rating is depending on level how much skill you actually get. but for every skill level over your current level you get .2% crit and 3 dmg to the weopon.

oke, just dinged 63, did a q, i was like, i'll logg right now, do some homework, so im walking to the nearest inn (astral recal on CD), suddenly some marshfang slicer attacks me, i kill it, this axe drops. dunno if i'll sell it or keep it myself (got dual grunt's axe atm), anyone got some advice for me?

lvl 63 tauren shaman, Laughing skull (EU) (yes, the ugly chick who sold her body for an epic mount is on my server, if i knew her char name, me and my guild would gank her all day, the hooker)

at lvl 60,
2.5 axe skill rating = 1 axe weapon skill

at lvl 70,
3.9 axe skill rating = 1 axe weapon skill

if u using Axe of the Legion at lvl70,
14 axe skill rating = 3.59 axe weapon skill

Had this item drop during UB run.

So this item dropped and I was so happy because for about a few days I have been looking at the auction house for this axe ever since I saw it on thottbot. I recently switched from arms sword spec to polaxe, so this would be an awesome replacement for footman's longsword and was so happy that I would not have to buy it at the auction house for 60g (which is how much it goes for on stormscale). But that didn't happen the way I thought it was going to happen.

I was going to get a UB run by one of the guildys so I started to get a group together. I had a shadow/disc priest (guildy) and a holy/disc priest (from looking for group). We were then going to have some other 70s from the guild join but got a whisper from a mage asking if her and her friend could join my group for UB. I said yes and we summoned them and off we went. Right before we got to the first boss this item drops and I was overjoyed so I let the group know I was going to click need because It would be an awesome upgrade. After some clicked greed I clicked need, but then the 70 mage clicks need and wins the roll officially making him a ninja. Which brings this question up, why is it that ninjas always win the roll? As soon as I saw that I did not win the axe I asked him why he needed that axe if it was useless for a mage. He responded , "Bind on Equip are always greed even if it benefits you." I then whispered him a few times and asking him how much will he sell it to me for but he never responded. The guildy in the group even offered to give him 2 shards that you would get if you were to Disenchant it but he didn't take the the offer. Instead he aggroed some mobs and left the group. Thank god the guildy was a 70 or else we would've died. I later on went to the auction house and found that axe there by a Lvl 1 who was still online. So if you ever see a mage by the name of Katixi from the Shrine Knights guild I high suggest you find yourself a replacement and avoid becoming a victim of a ninja. If you are a member of the guild I will probably not run any instance or raid with you since I do not agree with the loot rules that your guild has.

DWing Survival hunters? Because they have a vast number of extra melee abilities over any other hunter? I guess you seriously lack the comprehension what the Survival tree "utilities" are about. The survival tree is meant for you to be able to COUNTER melee situations to get back to range attack where your bread and butter is(range attack). Think about it..imp Wingclip (immobilization proc)Counter attack (immobilization)Entrapment (immobilization)Surefooted(resist snare/immobilization)Deterrance (dodge/parry melee attacks). There is actually only one talent that does any improvement to your melee abilites and thats Savage Strikes..one you can easily do w/o in 2.3. The only viable stat on the axe is the stamina. I play a hunter, get it out of your freaking head that its hunter loot. You can get better greens from the AH or questing..Testing the Antidote comes to mind..offers a better stat reward. The only true value of a hunter getting it is that he/she can turn around and put it in the AH and make some money. Your Raptor strike is like a single shot MS w/o a debuff and not as powerful. Your Mongoose Bite only procs off a dodge. Your Wingclip.."lawl" is a snare and not a valid source of damage. So tell me, what does strength do for you? Increase your 1 of 2 melee abilities only by an extra 16 (melee) AP? Expertise...umm..I am just gonna stop here cus ANY HUNTER THAT WIELDS 1-2 OF THESE IS JUST STUPID.

I'm using this on my 63 prot warrior, and its working great. Got em for 73g from a friend, not sure where they dropped. 70-80g is the median price for these on my server, so I was completely happy paying that much.

Sargeras server - just grabbed 2 outta the AH. 1 for 50g the other for 75g bo prices.

They worked out quit well and I expect they will last at least 3 or 4 levels.

Not really trying to start anything, but why does it really matter if some random hunter is using this or not? I'm a hunter and I am always keeping my eye open for this axe on the AH. I like how it looks, and it's better than what I have, so why does it matter if someone isn't playing the game the way you think they should? It's just a game, after all.

IMO Leave the hunters that may use this ALONE. If you think about it there are times when cthey will hav to fight in melee, yes they SHOULD try to kite but I have found on my other character which is a hunter of keeping a pair of weps for when NEEDED to melee, such as when a pet may die and your FD is on cd or resisted, it helps to be able to tear some thing up close range. everyone has their style of play which makes them a little bit unique. people that swear by cookie cutter builds for talents, yes you are using what has been thought out as most effiecent, but...

do YOU know your class?

ask that before ever saying an item is absolutely useless to a class. Like locks.....they have absolutely no benefit from using an axe they cast so they cant use axes. hunters can so they will. end of arguement. Fin

Sure hunters can use this axe, but why would they want to? It gives a tiny bit of stam, and then strenght and axe skill. Those stats are horrible for hunters, hunters need agi or straight up AP as a priority on their melee weps. And for those who say that they need this in case they need to melee are misguided. Hunter melee benifits from slow high damage weps cuz thats what raptor strike boosts, plus good hunters shud only melee out of necessity and fast one-handers wont do much for you there. This axe should go out to fury wars and enhancement shams. If ur a hunter look for a wep with better stats.
