I wish they would either make this drop from Magisters' Terrace also, or at least make it BoE so it will end up on the AH eventually. Currently, if you aren't in a top raiding guild you'll never be able to learn to smelt this. *sigh*

You can also rest assured that Hardened Khorium Bars are not BoP and if you're patient, you can find someone who will smelt it for nearly free. If paying someone to smelt a bar is the issue, why are you trying to craft something that costs over 1000g?

Patch 2.4.3: Smelt Hardened Khorium will now properly require a forge instead of an anvil and hammer.

Why do they insist on putting these types of drops in 25 man Raids? This should be trainable or attainable after a lengthy quest chain or somthing, not require you to get lucky on a roll against the 15 or so other miners in a 25 man group. This should be difficult to get, but not nearly impossible for anybody who isnt on a high pop server. Make it a recipe you can get with Exaulted or somthing.

This drops off trash in Sunwell Plateau. too bad its BoP, it would go for a hell of a lot in the AH. Also, it could make it easier for people to make some pretty great armor *cough cough* Hardened Khorium Goggles
