Anywhere you can catch Barbed Gill Trout, they will be replaced by the Bloated Barbed Gill Trout as long as you have the quest Shrimpin' Ain't Easy and only until you get 10 shrimp. For example, fishing in Zangarmash will give you one with about half your casts (assuming you catch anything). I haven't confirmed it but others say you can only have one bloated trout in your inventory at any one time so open it before trying to land another. Each one gives 1-2 shrimp.

I had recently completed the quest and when I looked, I realized I was carrying at least three Bloated Trouts. Therefore, the ability to carry more than one seems possible.

I also found a great spot for fishing them, as I got four in a row, then fished a few other various catches, then got five more Bloated Trouts. This was is in Zangarmarsh, Umbrafen Lake at 78,72.

dont try and fish it in the lake by the quest guy, i didnt get one...and confirm Umbrafen Lake as a good spot to get them, good luck

FYI, you can catch the bloated barbed gill while in a raid, but you'll never get any shrimp out of them while in a raid.

These have a duration of 2 hours, they will then disappear. Open them before that.

Chased ever fishin hole all over Zangarmarsh for 4 hours and never caught a one. Finally decide to give it one more try sans bait and a fishing hole and I caught 10 of suckers in a row. So it doesn't really matter where you fish. Just don't use bait or follow the fishin holes and have 375 fishing and you'll get them. imo.

I had 233 fishing with +100 lure found the closes lake in Zanzamarch and was finished in 5 min. Cut them open ASAP you seem to get more shrimp that way.

My drop rate was 100% one to two shrimp per trout. seems that if I let them sit im my bag I would only get one but if I click on them asap I got two, maybe just luck.

Yes it's luck, WoW's loot tables are completely time-independent.

I've fished 27 trout as of now. ALL had the digested weeds.

Make sure you're not in a raid when fishing them (then you'll only end up looting Weeds).

These are found in open water in Zangarmarsh, NOT pools. If you're fishing up the pools you are wasting your time. Hit the open water and you'll have them in no time!
