The droprate isn't near as high as wowhead indicates.
I killed around 30 and i only got 12 eggs.

Great farming spot is Southwest of Menethil in the Wetlands , the raptors are plentiful and the eggs drop off of them about every other kill.

I was gonna farm some of these and I presumed the higher level the mob the better drop chance... which was wrong, tired killing the raptors behind the Gurubashi Arena, later checked thottbot and the best drop rate was off level 22-23s in Wetlands.

Don't bother farming eggs and meat from the mottled raptors in wetlands (purple level 22-23), 80% of them will have no loot at all. Did 4 circuits and got 8 eggs 0 meat.

Mottled Screechers ( the blue raptors, not purple) in wetlands, pretty good drop rate.

You can use these to level Cooking.
Tried to get some in Stranglethorn, but the drop was kinda low... then I tried the Highland Scytheclaw and looks like the drop is way better. Got the amount I needed in just a couple kills. Happy hunting!

I farmed the raptors just south of Dun Modr and I got plenty of eggs in a short time to level up my cooking. It also gives you a chance to drop the Tiny Crimson Whelpling ! ^.^
Their respawn rate seems to be relatively quick as well.
PS.: That is only valid if you are farming these with a high level character that can one shot them, since some of the raptors often don't drop anything. But with their fast respawn rate and ability to one shot them, you can easily farm eggs in no time :D
