Excellent cheap option for people looking for a slow one handed axe with a higher top end. Mainly, enhancement shaman around level 40.

For being a mithril weapon this axe is depressingly ordinary. There's really nothing special about it at all, except for the considerable expense of the materials required to make it.

Move along, nothing to see here. Get the Blue Glittering Axe instead.

There is only one Smithy in BB? He doesn't teach me this axe... though got Mace recipe from him...

The Goblin blacksmith trainer teaches you the plans. I believe his name is Brikk Keencraft.

He's in one of the houses next to the forge. And if he can't teach you the recipe yet, you either already know it, or you're not high level enough to learn it.

Yea I cant get it from BB smith either it probably sells at some random vendor you have to find to prove yourself a true weapon smith...

You get it from the camp at STV. You get it rarely. She is only selling the recipie once every couple of hours

Go to the guy at the very top floor level in Booty Bay. You'll find 2 skills u learn at master blacksmith. You have to be blacksmith lvl 220 and another at lvl 230.. so if you're not that lvl, better get making some new stuff ppl! -

Also, first I think u may need to learn the Artisan skill before he will allow you to learn these items "Heavy Mithril Axe" and "Big Black Mace". The remaining "Massive Iron Axe" I have yet to find but I think its with Jaqulina in ST.

First you only need a b/s skill of 210 now to train for the mithril axe.

Second you train for it in if from the expert smith..

I am sure about this because i went to see the master in BB and it wasn't even listed. Even if you cant get it the skill should be listed, so i went to Iron Forge and spoke with my old trainer and he had it. BTW im only a lvl 40 210 b/s and he let me train for it!

I am very confused...my artisan trainer in IF had this available to me. So, this is trained from your artisan BS trainer. Please check there, or perhaps you blindly trained everything and have it trained already

your Artisan blacksmith trainer (Alliance or Horde) will have this recipe. It is a 210, trainer-sold recipe.

To clarify, your Artisan trainer is the guy who sells you "Expert Blacksmithing" - for Horde, it's Saru Steelfury in Orgrimmar, for Alliance, Bengus Deepforge in Ironforge.

In addition, Brikk Keencraft will carry this recipe - like all the smithing trainers, he carries ALL smithing recipes that he can train, plus all the previous smithing recipes at previous skill-level trainers.

This axe is "nothing special", no - but if you've had bad luck with winning blues in instances, it can be a decent tank weapon (70hp is 70hp, and it does good damage for a green). Blue glittering axe is faster, with an agility bonus instead, so take your pick. When playing a tank, I've always preferred a medium to slightly slower 1h weapon with some kind of stamina boost to it; that said, the +8 agility on the BGA would add directly to your armor points. An interesting choice between the two.

For a hunter, the choice is obviously the BGA.

i was playing around with this today having just got it and needing the points for smithing, its really not worth using - im going back to a savage axe with +4 strength which gives me better dps (not much but it is better)

a good weapon if you have to have the stamina boost but otherwise (and especially if like me you want fast weapons) i would leave it and get something else

If you want to finish the weaponsmith quest, just go to Stranglethorn Vale to the north and to the south.

- The woman vendor in the north by the camp will sell you the "Plans: Massive Iron Axe"-recipe.
- The goblin vendor in Booty Bay will sell you the "Plans: Moonsteel Broadsword"-recipe.

I am 70 retri pala and want to improve the equipment of this twink. ;)

(Info: for axe/sword/club specialization you have to go to winterspring... somewhere.)

Found it was cheaper to buy the axe from the AH then buying all the mats for this axe, bought mine for 3g each. drawback to this is that you dont get a skillup from making it.
