Please, before you get all excited, note that there is a 48 hour cooldown on transmutations.

You can only transmute 1 bar at a time. It really kills the value of lower-level transmutates.

What about a different transmutation? Like Is Mithril-to-Truesilver and Iron-to-Gold on two different cooldowns?

if you use this transmutation. ALL other transmutes have a 2day cooldown. even if the other cooldowns would be shorter

i bought the recipe like so in a rush, used it, than found it its a waste. im so stupid. trying to make money i end up wasting it. if i do infact transmute mithril to truesilver, how much is one truesilver worth if u sell it to people

many professions have somethng with a cooldown. for instance, tailoring has felcloth-mooncloth, which is a 96hour cooldown.
so long as you dont waste your time on low lvl, unneeded transmutes, and focus on arcanite, youll be fine.

U guys are in too much of a hurry to make money. This is something that i do with an Alt character. Just keep one bar going all the time and in like a month u will have 30 bats of truesilver. If u have an Alt that is a BS then it is much better then trying to buy it at the AH (sells for 8-10G on my server) a stack.

Blizzard isn�t stupid, they know that if there are any get rich quick schemes that it will throw the whole game out of balance. My advice, slow down be patient and enjoy the game!

he aint in hillsbrad. this is a bug in thottbot. you get the transmute recipe from the goblin city gadgetzan in tanaris, from the same guy who sells the philosophers stone recipe and most of the other transmutes. get there by going through the shimmering flats at the end of thousand needles.

I just stuck with mining and skinning and camped around areas like the fargodeep mine and such for low lvl then i went and got the moonkin from one of the lvl 50 areas. Fargodeep mine has more than enough copper around and in it for any starting miner. And the moonkin pelts sell for like 12s a peice so there really is no cooldown on that stuff. Another one of my friends took herbalism instead of skinning and it works pretty nicely considering in most lvl 50-60 areas noone cares about herbs even though they sell for a ton. Now with my thing i have an epic mount and i still have like 533 gold left which i am using at auction everyday to help my lower lvls.

Alchemy and mining. Farm arcanite crystals, which sell for 20+g. Tranmute to arcanite bar and you make a #$%^load of cash. This is the reason why you choose alchemy to begin with, not the lower lvl stuff.

The transmutation cooldown time has been reduced to 23 hours. At least for the iron to gold, which I did last night. That means one transmutation per day. It's a tedious task, but if you're patient it can bring me you money.

According to a post at thottbot this has a 48 hour cooldown. Someone else asked whether you could do one bar or a whole stack before the cool down kicked in, but they weren't answered so I don't know. Just wanted to give you a heads up cause I kept on seeing this recipe on the auction house and knew there had to be a catch. A 48 hour cooldown per bar would definitely sour the deal considerably.

I have the iron to gold and mithril to truesilver and both are on the same timer. So it seems only 1 transmutation per 23h period. Yay!

apparently it's down to 20 hours. still pretty lame, but my JC needs truesilver so it looks like i'll be spending a lot of time leveling it

Man, how totally useless. Was gonna level up my alch alt to make truesilver for my eng main who isn't high enough to mine it himself yet. But.. 48 hours PER BAR? That makes it pretty totally useless!

I had the same idea: level up and Mithril Bar is worth around 3g a stack, Truesilver 9g, so big profit in my opinion...but 48 hours cooldown makes this a complete waste of time and money!

Well WTF no wonder truesilver is so damn expensive on my server. Maybe after a recent patch they fixed it, I dunno, how dumb. I've seen one truesilver deposit in my mining career and I wasn't even high enough to mine it at the time.

Since Truesilver will not be smelt-able in Phase 2 of Season of Discovery, this will be one of the few ways to obtain Truesilver Bars. The cooldown is very long, and the requirement of a Philosopher's Stone is going to be even tighter, because of Black Vitriol's extremely sparse availability (in order to craft the stone). Will be interesting to see if this is viable!
