Where the heck do you get this thing in Gnomeregan? I got a white card and fed it into some machine and it gave me a security error, then I fed it into some other machine and I got an option to get a "higher access level card" but it didn't do anything. Is it a drop? Do I just have to kill more to find it?

To complete the quest you must pick up the White punch card from a random drop before the entrance to the instance and use it in the machine near Techbot. At the "A machine" be sure to pick up the next security level card, the blue card, which will be used for the "B machine" inside the instance, and repeat the process until you find the "D machine" to obtain the prismatic punch card. Once you get a higher level card, the lower level cards are useless, can't be sold or given away, so destroy them.

You have to go in the second entrance (north of Techbot). You need the special key (or you can go in while in ghost form), the machine for 3005-D is in the room with the elevator.

Anyone know what the binary on the machines translates to? It's obviously ASCII given that it's 8 bits per segment and each starts with 0 but I don't want to do all that work for this :P

Ok, here is how to get it...

When you first enter Gnomeregan, go in through the back entrance to the instance (you need to have the workshop key to open the door). To get there once you go down the main gold elevator, continue north to the other end of the round room (do not go west, because that will just take you into the main instance entrance).

Once you are in, head down the long hallway, and you will eventually come to the workshop door. Open the door, and go straight until you come to an elevator overlooking a large round area. Go down the elevator. In the center of the round area, there is a huge round structure. Walk around the structure wall to the side opposite that of the elevator. There is a punch card machine on the wall for prismatic pumch card.

from the C terminal, go back over the bridge, head down the south passage, the passage will fork, head to the south east room, there are level 32ish elites in there, the D terminal is right at the entrance to that room

Well, I got all the punchy cards, all the way up to prismatic. Following these on directions from thottbot and looking all over gnomer, I couldn't find a thing I could use Prismatic punch card that punch card for, no machine or anything. And since the first card didn't say anything about beginning a quest if you click on it, I assume the horde can't do a thing with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm positive this punch card thing is useless on the horde side. Any horde find anything you could use it for?

If I remember correct(done this quite loooong ago), prismatic card could be used to get the engineering recipe for Discombubolator ray or w/e it is (that turns the target ina lepper gnome and slows their cast/swing timers. Don't ask me how exactly it was, cuz I've forgot, perhaps if u search for the engineering gadget there will be instructions

Gnomers is one of the most bugged instances in the World of Warcraft.

Including:
1. Horde can receive these punch cards.
2. Quest Rig Wars has had problems with faction.
3. In the corridor to the last boss with the NPC's that drop land mines characters agro easlily and come to wipe you in groups of 20-30.
4. The level 23-25 non-elites before the instance by elevator to summon stone and by the back door to last boss respawn in 2-5 sec but luckily only agro if attacked first.
5. Quest: Grime-encrusted Ring has a problem with completing the quest because it doesnt show that you have the quest on the machine but try them all because it is a certain one.

There are probably more glitches but these are the ones I know from experience.

First off I will quote "engiwar" from above.
"The prismatic punch card is for allience quest only" To get it yes you must check red punch card in at machine(d) for whomever wishes to have it.
I am a regular to the gnome scene so These are the facts.

1.white punch card drops before the two portals, whever really just keep kickin them around.
2.take that card to machine(a) which you can't miss 10-15min into gnome. and get yellow card.
3.take yellow P card to machine(b) which you will find 20-30 minutes after receiving yellow card, and receive blue.
4.take blue card to machine(c) which is located at on a small upper platform with a mini boss called somthing 6000 w/e(spider machine thing). You'll find this another 25-35min in, and receive red card.
5.Take red card to the bottom floor of the engineering labs to machine(d) and receive prismatic P card. In the arch way leading towards thermaplugg theirs 2 punch-o-matic(d) on each side. Their is an elevator on the top floor of the Eng. labs leading to bottom floor btw, so don't listen to the brilliant team member that says "lets jump".

Now if any hordes could loan me their knowlwdge...
I've been reading about these cards getting engineering schematics everywhere and all the posts on diff. sites give different info. I need a horde engineer who has actually got schematics from gnome with these cards. I have all 3 cards and the security access data card. from what I have read these items can some how retrive me discombobulator scem, and recombobultor scem lol somthin like those if you got them you'd know. anyway where can I get these? I need facts!plz! where to turn them in and what i can get because i also heard of other schematics connected to these cards idk. But I don't have cordinates mod or atlas, so any info, derections or help at all with this plz let me know. TY

heres the facts guys, i have tried enough to know, the prismatic punch card does absolutly nothing for horde, if u get it its just fun to goof around with making people think u got some quest they dont.

At the first upgrade station near the Troggs and Dormintory/Clean Room area, my Horde mage eng had the option to get the minor recombobulator schematic, which he did. He then upgraded the card and kept going. The prismatic card at the end of the chain does not appear useful for horde.

ok -(confusion)_ and im a level 68-so mobs=no prob
sooo i used cosmose compleat to find it-lucky me
and here is how to get there.

OBJECTIVE
the d punch card= prismatic card=rainbow collor

1)k go in back entrance(requires key-cant ghost have to open a door inside instance)
2)kill or bypass mobs to door that needs opened(no side passages here so u cant get lost)
3)look ahead after opening door-walk forward to edge(watch for pats that walk across path)
4)take elivator down
5)get off elivator
6)kill bypass mobs to the ONLY exit
7)at the exit two boxes are on eather side use them to get your card.( i killed a flamwalker and a tecnishon-but u could wait till they moved)

the only place to get lost following this is after u open the door inside the instance there is a 4 way. dont go right or left if u wait like 6 seconds u will see the elivator pop up. take it down

note-spelling is bad(underline-bold-etc)-if that ofends u dont read this. lol

If you are on Horde Just get a DELTA card and bring it with you while collecting the different cards.

Loot the White Punch Card from the NPCs in Gnomeregan, inside or outside the instance.

Take the White Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-A that is located to the north of both the elevator or the transporter.

You will get the Yellow Punch Card.

Take the Yellow Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-B that is located in the bottom of the Dormitories.

You will get a Blue Punch Card.
If you are an Engineer and managed to get a 'Security BETA Access Card' to drop, you will also get the 'Plans: Minor Discombobulator'.

Take the Blue Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-C that is located at the top of the Launch Bay on the platform.

You will get a Red Punch Card.

Take the Red Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-D that is located at the bottom of the platform in the Engineering Labs.

You will get a Prismatic Punch Card.
If you are an Engineer and managed to get a 'Security DELTA Access Card' to drop, you will also get the 'Plans: Discombobulator Ray'.

Take the cards back to Ironforge to complete the quest.

(For those of you who get this one shared)

The Gnome standing in front of the Tram in Iron Forge.

I don't know what to do with the left over cards. Probably just slag items. It would be nice if they are un-needed that they be destroyed when you turn in the prismatic card automatically.

As an Alliance player, is there any reason to keep the Final Punch Card (Prismatic) when you're done and leveled past Gnomer?
