The complete Mithril Order quest chain for Alliance. Only difference for Horde is that the very start is in Orgrimmar not Stormwind.

Starts with Hank the Hammer - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=7798 - in the Dwarven Quarter of Stormwind

"The Origins of Smithing" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2758 - craft 6 Golden Scale Bracers for Hank (needs 30 iron bars and 36 heavy stone raw materials)

"In Search of Galvan" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2759 - sends you to Booty Bay to visit McGavan.

"The Mithril Order" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2760 - sends you up to 51,20 in northeast Stranglethorn Vale to visit Galvan the Ancient.

BEFORE visiting Galvan, make sure you have: 120 mithril bars, 40 iron bars; 5 truesilver bars; 4 citrine.

Galvan gives three turn-in quests for these: "Smelt On, Smelt Off" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2761 - "The Art of the Imbue" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2763 - "The Great Silver Deceiver" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2762

Then there is "Expert Blacksmith!" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2765 - just talk to Galvan and get your Signet of Expertise trinket - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=8703

Then "Galvan's Finest Pupil" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2764 - sends you to visit Trenton Lighthammer in Gadgetzan.

Trenton has three crafting quests for you:

"A Good Head On Your Shoulders" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2771 - 2 Mithril Coif and 1 Ornate Mithril Shoulder.

"The Mithril Kid" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2773 - 2 Heavy Mithril Breastplate and 1 Ornate Mithril Gloves

"The World At Your Feet" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2772 - 2 Heavy Mithril Boots and 1 Ornate Mithril Pants

Total raw materials for these three quests: 114 mithril bars, 3 truesilver bars, 8 solid stone, 18 mageweave cloth and 14 thick leather.

my dwarf warrior, Redrummer, came to blacksmithing late in life and was unable to get these quests at level 63....So I don't know if it's available above a certian range (or maybe my bs numbers are just not high enough)..any info appreciated.

You can do these quests @ level 70. I´m level 70 and I´m doing them @ the momment. Just go to the quest givers and right click on them it works.

cordinates are actually: 50,20 (with cosmos)
the easiest way to find him his go directly south of the path that heads into Zul'Gurub. he is next to where Bhag'Thera pops for Panther quest.

im an armoursmith well trieing to be anyway i went to IF to learn the ways of the armoursmith and told me to collect some ornate mithril stuff and said u do knwo how to make ornate mithrel right? so ive bean looking for the dude for where to get the ornate mithrel plans and all is this the right dude as to where i can get them? thanks.

He's at 50,20...

120 mithril bars is sorta steep though shees, I've already blown around 65g getting my blacksmithing to 230 (I got it yesturday) and this quest is gonna rape me some more!

Gentlemen, First see Hank the Hammer in Stormwind (Dwarven District) must be lvl 40 to get the first quest for the Mithril Order. After doing what he wants, he will send you to the Blacksmith in Booty Bay. He will then give you the quest to find Galvan the Ancient in Stranglethorn Vale. He moves around a little but is always there someplace, searching is what the game is all about.

p.s. - If you ain't level 45 or higher you ain't gonna complete the quests assigned without a lot of help.

Ok I started this quest in SW at Hank the Hammer and made the 6 golden scale bracers he gave the plans and the insignia and sent me to Booty Bay to talk to McGavan. I get there and show him the insignia and he say's �Find Galvan the Ancient and show him this pin. His residence is far to the north, between Zul Gurub and the Mosh'Ogg ogre mound. �

I run off and go to talk to Galvan the Ancient. I find him but he has a gey question mark over his head and he wants the Mithril Pendent but I dont have it on me.

Is this what McGavan gave me because I dont have any pin or pendent on me. I went back to him to see if I missed something and he wont talk to me know.

I am a lvl 43 Warrior with 230 Blacksmithing

Am I missing something?

For Horde first you need to complete blacksmith quest in Ogrimar, you will hear a whisper from the guy outside the door who gives you an amulet to give to someone in Booty Bay, who leads you to this guy, easy.

yes the 120 mithril is a pain, needed 120 iron for earlier quest for blacksmith. best place i found is badlands, didnt buy any ant took around 4 days just 1 -2 hours a day.

I'm level 34 at the moment and I've already got 30 mithril which I wont use and 100 iron around level 39-40 you wont get any xp from the yeti cave in hillbrad.Fast respawn,a chest 2 iron and one mithril.Extremely easy grinding I made 30 mithril and 50 iron in about 3 hours.I dont know why is it so hard to collect mithril when I had a harder time finding iron veins till level 32.

196 blacksmithing/190 mining without buying anything from AH for the proff.Blacksmithing isnt that hard :].

How do you get blacksmithing past 225? Do you have to be a certain level? To be a weaponsmith i need to make 2 big black maces, but you need to be at 230 to learn how. also i need to make 2 Massive iron axes and i dont have the plans for it. can anyone tell me exactly where to find them?

if you can get enough ore, and turn in all quests at once, 11,700 xp (3900 * 3). Plus an additional 3900 xp for him to make the trinket, for a total of 15,600 xp.

To get your signet of expertise you need to COMPLETE the full chain that i will out line below.(sorry hordies i play alliance so i dont know who starts this chain for you guys)

1. Fly to Storm Wind and talk to "hank the hammer" who will give you this quest:
Quest: The Origins of Smithing
to complete this quest you will need:
30 steel bars
12 heavy grinding stones

2. Turn in the above quest and hank will give you this quest:
Quest: In Search of Galvan
McGavin is located in Booty Bay in front of the forge on the upper road near "dizzy one eye"

3. After turning in the above quest to McGavin he will give you this quest
Quest: The Mithril Order (Blacksmithing)
Galvan can be found east of the venture co. camp, south of zul'gurub and north of mos'ogg ogre mound in the eastern hills near bagthera

4. Upon talking to Galvan you can take all 3 quests (he gives you 4 quests but you must complete the first 3 before he will give you the last quest)he gives you at the same time or 1 at a time. the quests are listed as follows
Quest: Smelt On, Smelt Off
Quest: The Art of the Imbue (Blacksmithing)
Quest: The Great Silver Deceiver (Blacksmithing)
The total bars and gems you need to turn in are as follows:
40 Iron bars
120 Mithril Bar
5 Truesilver bars
4 Citrine

5. after turning in all your bars and gems galvan will give you this quest
Quest: Galvan's Finest Pupil (Blacksmithing)
At this point you can either goto tanaris and pick up the next set of quests or go off and mine more ore as you will need a lot more ore to complete the next set of quests that trenton lighthammer will give you.

6. Run to the rebel camp and fly to Booty Bay, take the boat from Booty Bay to Ratchet, fly from Ratchet to Gadgetzan and talk to trenton who stands in front of the anvil just inside the walls of gadgetzan near the alliance flight point.
trenton will give you these quests
Quest: A Good Head On Your Shoulders (Blacksmithing)
Quest: The World At Your Feet (Blacksmithing)
Quest: The Mithril Kid(Blacksmithing)
you will need the following mats to complete the above quests
2 Solid Grinding Stones
114 mithril bars
18 mageweave cloth
3 truesilver bars
14 thick leather

7.Upon completion of the above quests trenton will then give you this quest
Quest: Did You Lose This? (Blacksmithing)
wait for him to finish yelling about how you are now an exalted member of the mithril brotherhood and collect your trinket.

8.Ok at this point it looks like the chain ends here as he will not give you any more quests, but if you now go back to galvan he will give you this quest
Quest: Expert Blacksmith! (Blacksmithing)
just sit tight and wait for a minute as galvan will now create the insignia of expertise that you worked hard for.

Signet of Expertise
this trinket will allow you to summon a epic hammer for 1 hour (trinket has a 3 hour cool down)
Hammer of Expertise
and there you go enjoy your new epic hammer

his loc is posted below, but in layman's terms: he's in the middle of nowhere basically, just him and his forging supplies. pretty much 25-40 yards south of the zg entrance. hope this helps =)

This sword doesn't proc that often, but when it does, it hits like a truck, often doing around 10% of your dmg on a single target for a single hit at lvl 39, but you might see a proc every second or third mob that you fight, whereas the fiery weapon enchant that I have on it procs multiple times per mob, and while it only hits for 1/3rd as much or so, it's far more reliable (this was listed in the AH for 10g w/fiery weapon on it, and I couldn't resist as a fresh lvl 39 warrior)... not a bad sword, esp w/the enchant on it, but reading some of these older comments, I certainly expected the proc to proc much more often than it actually does.
