I also had trouble with the drop rate on this quest, was my 12th raptor before I even got one drop. Killed approx 30 raptors in all.

IMO, don�t do this. the drop rate is like 10-20%. and the raptors are boring to kill.

Most people don't realize the significance of this quest. See that Vibro dagger? -- its a one-hand. -- That means for an enhancement shaman, he can quickly pop this into his offhand, with a main-hand healing mace and very quickly be getting close to the +500 healing mark.

Basically, from enhance to resto in 1.5sec flat.

Now, too bad there isn't *anyone* who could make use of that one-hand sword (by offhanding it). If shaman could wield swords, things would be a whole 'nother ball game.

This quests had a strange drop rate for me. I had 10 Raptors killed with no teeth, then killed 4 and got 4 teeth, then killed another 10, to finally get the last tooth. All in all a 1/5 drop chance, which is bad in my book. Raptors are 58,67 to 58,57

These raptors must be poor predators. So few of them seem to have teeth. I wonder how they chew their food? Seriously, a lousy drop rate for me, about 1 in 6.

I am guessing that the person who designed this quest also designed the humans in Hillsbrad that have no skulls, and the wolves in Terrokar that have no tails.

Drop rate is low, ive killed 3 ~ 6 raptors before the item will drop..
so its not 50% like some have suggessted

This is really not fair because the dagger reward is probably the best offhand for that lvl till u get "Vibro Shanker" at 66 but of course its alliance only.

I don't want to start any debate about horde has this and alliance has that and blah blah. but man i was so disappointed when i saw its alliance only.

If anyone know of a good dagger like this accessible to horde too, please let us know. I personally didn't find any. good dagger meaning a decent dps with maybe 1.40 or 1.30 speed for a combat/assassination rogue, witch basically only purpose is to return energy.

Well im gonna go ahead and sum it up here:
1. Bad drop rate. About 7-1 ratio.
2. Son of grull pwned me 3 times while doin the quest.
3. Crystaline Kopesh is better tankadin weapon. Unless you have a really good off- hand battle mages is better then the dagger and roges at 66 or so im sure can get something better then that dagger.

SO basically this quest is just something to do for exp and if ur doin ride the lightning and ridgespine menace then its good to have just so you can sit there and kill everything u see and still get quests done.

Killed 12, got 5 drops. Perhaps Blizzard 'fixed' the drop rate. I am questing in an off-peak time however.

I'll agree Crystalline Kopesh (Min Level 66) has more DPS and defense / "classical tanking" stats.
Vibro Sword (Min Level 65) also makes a great tankadin weapon until level ~70, due to it's fast weapon speed for utilising recurrent reckoning procs and increased spell damage contributing to paladin threat generation.

The drop rate for me is insanely bad. As I type this, I am continuing to kill these Lashtails, and have not gotten a single tooth. I'm under the impression that is is a 1-10% drop. :|

didnt get any drops at all for the first 27 kills, i checked wowhead and peaples spoke about it being so low drop rate, so i thought i was killing wrong mob, but no. i killed about 3 more, then i got my first. Finished it off with 43 kills for 5 drops...

Yeah, be on the look out for Maggoc, I just alt-tabbed out to see the drop rate, and he pretty much killed me with two hits.

This quest can be done at the same time as Ride the LIghtning and Ridgespine Menace. And you can ride the Capacitor to get to the best location, that is, Razor Ridge, (66, 74) through (66,58). Just watch out for Maggoc, a level 70 Elite who likes to wander the same space.

Drop rate for me was about 40%, that is, I had to kill 12 Raptors to get 5 teeth. Not the worst I've seen, not the best. As long as you're in Razor Ridge and haven't slipped down to the Bladespire ogre camp to whack their Raptors, you should be OK.

These guys have Infected Bite which is both a damage enhancer and a Nature DoT. But 15 points every 10 seconds plus a minor amount of extra melee damage was hardly worth noticing for a 67 Arms Warrior, even post-nerf.

This is the only quest in the trio with a reward I'll kee. A nice dagger with a Speed of 1.4 is a keeper, especially if I can get it enchanted properly. It compares well to the Adamantite Dagger, a level 65 crafted piece.

Second time doing this quest. First time, drop rate was horrible, but finished it.

This time - One hour and 50000xp later, I have two teeth. I'll just do it later...

It seems that Level 66 Lashtails have a 20% drop rate, Level 67 has 10%

Sorry for being the voice of dissent here but Ny is right. Something wrong with a drop rate listed as 18% off of these buggers. The average I was getting was 20+ kills per tooth. Every five that I killed I got diseased at least once, considering I was not prepped with the right disease buster I guess, that was 3 minutes downtime that I could not stealth per disease (Considering I could not remove it). Add in the fact that there are flappy lightning spitting boobs all over the place and this quest is actually more annoying than the Gauge quest. I did find though that there is a large congregation at around 54,64. No flappies around them.

Got a tooth from the 1st kill, 4th, 5th, 7th and the 13th kill.

They drop off Daggermaws Lashtail's which are found at north of Toshley's Station.

Grab "Test Flight - Singing Ridge", "Ride the Lightening" and "Ridgespine Menace" than do the test flight. You'll land in the right area.

Edit: Apparently test flight can also land you in the middle of the crystals. So if you have "Crystal Clear" and "What came First, the Drake or the Egg?" than you can do those.

Our guns are effective at range, but when the bugs get in close, we need to have powerful melee weapons as a backup.

The teeth of the daggermaw lashtails in the northern part of the Razor Ridge make for great vibro-weapon blades. Scare me up some.
