Sure is a nice, though expensive, BoP set for hunters, or some Shaman. I'll be sure to link a pic of the set once I get the Primal Nethers to make the belt and chest.

For a 3-piece set it has pretty impressive total calculated stats; but as mentioned.. it is pretty expensive in the long haul!

Generally by the time you get the set you shouldn't need the 20 hit rating set bonus because the max hunter hit is 136. So its best to just make the chest and belt because the bracer's suck a lot of ass.

While these aren't bad, has Blizzard stated a reason why these and other letherworking sets don't have upgrades ala Mooncleaver, Bulwarks, ect.?

Their really not up to par with other professions ub3r items.

(Please correct me if the stats listed above are not the coming 2.1.0 stats).

I'm not entirely convinced this is worth the effort. Based on the tables listed above and on the Felstalker Armor (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/itemset=575) set, we can see that it is at best a rather expensive sidegrade.

~43 agi = +1% crit

22 crit rating = +1% crit

Agi bonuses to armor and dodge not considered.

Raw AP refers to the total base AP on the set. Full AP is raw AP plus AP from Agi.

Int AP refers to Full AP plus the extra RAP granted by Int with the Careful Aim talent (bonus RAP = .45xInt).

Raw crit refers to the total base crit on the set. Full crit is raw crit plus crit from Agi.

Hit rating is equal if the wearer is a leatherworker (assumed to be, since Netherscale is BOP).

"Difference" will be shown in terms of stat changes if you "upgraded" from a Felstalker set.

Clearly we only gain a little armor, stamina, mana regen, and a TINY amount of crit. Hardly seems worthy of the efforts required to make the set.

But what about sockets? Both sets have six sockets; Netherscale has 3 yellow and 3 blue, while Felstalker has 3 red and 3 blue. Socket bonuses are 9 agi for Nether, and 13 sta for Fel. Even violating socket rules (after all, these bonuses aren't enough to really make the final decision for us), if equally decent gems are used, the change is still only a sidegrade. Try again, Blizzard.

The set bonus appears to be broken. It is only adding 7 hit for me instead of the stated 20. Apparently this is a "known issue".

if yer ganna buy all the mats buh supply ur own heavy knothides it comes out to about 844g, alot, im not too sure if its worth it yet cuz i dont hav it buh id say get your flyin than get this set 4 hunters, seems pretty good (also if your a hunter your ganna wanna get jems with agility which can add up to, alot) on jems and the mats id say u be spendin bout 1.1k on this xO

I just finished up making the chest piece for my enhancement shaman. So far, I'm very happy with it. Sure, it took me almost 300g and about a week to get it finally made, enchanted, and socketed; but it was well worth it. I can't wait to get started on the belt and bracers. This set bonus and the 4/5 T4 bonus will be great for raiding.

This set is very good for BM spec'd Hunters. The chest stats are better than their T4 counterpart.

Crafted this set, socketed with +hit and ap/mp5. Very good for PvE, less burst makes you last longer. Also your pet gains more armor which is nice for soloing.

3x8 = 24 + 20 = 44 hit rating from this set is not bad at all :)

IMO they are both great sets. I’m a little disappointed with the Ebon now that I look at it, but it has its purpose. It is a raiding set because of the mp5 and hp. The hp, while not a whole lot, will be used to soak some of the unavoidable damage. IE: AEO effects, debuffs ect ect. I would use, the Felstalker set for 5 mans and grinding. Neither is a really good pvp set unless you socket it differently, but you might as well work on your HWL/GM or Gladiator set. I just bumbed myself out a little. DAMN YOU LWing! Oh well, if anyone has more info that may cheer me up, let me know.

I have this for my enhancement spec shaman for one reason... i'm not a die hard player of WoW... i believe this set is worth it... because i dont havew the time to raid or pvp for anything better. unless there are raids that take less than 3 hours to complete.

In my personal opinion, i think using felstalker with 6x 8ap/6sta gems in it would make it overall a better value then ebon set. I dont really get to play WoW as often as i would like so it makes it hard for me to get the time to run instances and gather up primals or gain rep needed for felstalker or even enough time to get that high LW. So with all considered, grinding out enough gold to buy felstalker and the gems is a lot easier to do and still make a huge impact on my character. felstalker set would run about 500g on undermine maybe less and the 6 gems would be about 330 or so. gathering up 850 or so gold, and maybe getting lucky with other great item drops, seems a lot more practical for a casual player and you would still be able to have a very well balance character without having to roll agaisnt anyone for primals or spend hours grinding mats for ebon set. this of course is just my opinion but i think it makes a lot of sense.

All those comments about this set having less AP than Felstalker only apply to hunters. For all those Enhancement Shamans out there, this set is far better that felstalker
