The looks is a combination of an angle and the paladin tier 2 set.

It is remarkable that the shoulder item doesn't have any spirit while the remaining pieces have massive amounts (compared to int/samina).

In my opinion the 2 piece set bonus is worthless as 100 mana will be less than 1% of your total mana.
On the other hand, who wouldn't benefit from a +15 all resist buff?

I love this set. For a pure healing raid build, I don't think you could do much better. Combining this with the Arena set for a good damage gear, and your gonna be rocking it.

And danm, BE's look badass in it.

Presumably the tokens drop from Tempest Keep-25, Coilfang-25, and possibly also Caverns of Time:Hyjal, since Tier 4 tokens drop from Karazahn, Gruul's Lair, and probably also Mag's Lair.

For T5 don't you think it should have more stats across the board anyway? Why slave over DKP and not really get all that much. It does look cool, I'll give it that, but I'd like to see more stats, Int. maybe. Stamina as well, what good is great healing gear if you're not alive to use it.

Here's some food for thought:

Formula = 100 mana (from the proc)/cost with Improved Healing

Rank 1: 100/314 = 31.8%
Rank 2: 100/386 = 25.9%
Rank 3: 100/463 = 21.6%
Rank 4: 100/556 = 18.0%
Rank 5: 100/603 = 16.6%
Rank 6: 100/637 = 15.7%
Rank 7: 100/701 = 14.3%

If you were to combine this with The Eye of Gruul: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28823

You would actually gain mana for downranking, and spend minimal mana for the higher ranks:

Rank 1: +100 Mana
Rank 2: +100 Mana
Rank 3: +87 Mana
Rank 4: -6 Mana
Rank 5: -53 Mana
Rank 6: -87 Mana
Rank 7: -151 Mana

The other thing you should consider is Clearcasting https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=34754 as well as Inner Focus https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=14751. Provided the proc isn't dependent on you spending mana, you could actually gain mana by obtaining a clearcasting proc, or by using Inner Focus and using your max rank to intentionally overheal.

Anyone who ever healed Prince phase2 or any 25man raidboss knows that the 2 piece bonus is invaluable. You are forced to overheal a _LOT_ because damage is so spiky. 100 mana off from most of your r3-r5 gheal is priceless.

Is there a hidden cooldown on the 100 mana returned to you? Or can it happen 100% of the time every 2.5s?

I did some calculations on this set shoulders, robe + belt of the long road opposed to Primal mooncloth set. I socketed all with +9h/2mp5 and +9h/4int gems. So here are the totals

PMC

60 int
46 spi
321 heal
29 mp5

t5 + BotLR
75 sta
75 int
92 spi
339 heal
10 mp5

So if you are a priest you will get(from using t5 over PMC)
+75 sta
+15 int
+46 spi
+18 heal
-19mp5

now lets get into talents as well 30%mana regen normal, +5% spi and +25% heal from spi total

t5
+75 sta
+15 int
+48,3 spi
+29,5 heal

now to mp5
PMC - 29mp5 + (assume 400spi from rest gear)+46 = 446*0.1875*1.05(pmc bonus) = 116mp5
T5 - 10 mp5 + 400+92*0.1875 = 102mp5

so with the bonus you loose approx 14mp5 (with the 400 spi estimate)

totals:

+75 sta
+15 int
+48,3 spi
+29,5 heal
-14mp5

And almost forgot the overheal bonus on the 2set, wich when you use GH4 on tanks(wich i always do) and assume 1 out of 3 is an overheal, you get 100 mana every 12-15s wich is an additional 33mp5, so youl get +19mp5 as well, wich makes this far better then the PMC set on tank healing!

Lets say something about the 4 pieces bonus.

I know most of you think that the 4 pieces bonus sucks a lot, but...
5 ticks with 800 heal = 4000
6 ticks with 800 heal = 4800
You will get 1 extra tick of healing and thats amazing 20% more healing!

..and dont forget that you will stay a little bit longer outside the 5sek rule.

mate after TBC blizz finialy smarted up and took the time to create 2 sets for classes that have polary different specs, thats dps warrior/tank, healer/shadow priest, nubkin/resto and so on, if ur shadow ud be best of with the offensive set, but the healing and spirit bonusses on the healer gear r more powerfull, so if ur a raid healer ud be best off using the this one.

The reason they have better healing stats than the priest set is to compensate for their ineffectiveness as a healer. priests are built to be healers, pally/shammy/druid are a hybrid, so to bring them up to par with a priest, they get better gear. as a priest, i say thats unfair, i leveled a healer to be a great healer, not to be just as good a healer as these hybrids. i think its unfair because they get to be as good as we are but if blizz doesnt do that, hybrids begin to complain. thanks anyway blizzard =/

First off, Karazhan drops tier 4, this is tier 5. Tier 5 drops in Tempest Keep, the raid part. The way to get attuned to it first you have to go to shadowmoon valley and complete the cipher of damnation chain quests. Then you go to A'dal located in shattrath city, and you recieve the quest from him. You must complete shattered halls, steamvaults, and arcataz all on heroic mode. Then, the final part you must kill magtheridon in his lair which is a raid instance. After that you recieve the key, and have fun!

been both, shadow rocks and I find little difference in my healing abilites using the right armour and trinkets I can heal as well as any holy priest in fact often better, my shadow vamp embrace ect give the whole group a boost and keeps them topped up on healing and mana with no cost to me or the group
for the holy priest who is saying that shadow priests cant possibly be as good I can only say ... you cant be very good as a priest if you cant heal in shadow and heal well, wish i had gone shadow a long time ago great for solo and great for groups and I am asked along as main priest and as shadow priest to all sorts of instances and groups including raids. a good priest is a good priest no matter if they are shadow or holy and some holy priests are in fact extremely miffed that shadow can out heal them hence the complaints and the whinging

Only confirmed location where tokens for this set drops is Serpentshrine Caverns in Coilfang Reservior (gloves and pants so far). Attunement requires a Heroic run past 1nst boss in Slave Pens to start the quest, then Heroic runs through Sethekk and Shattered Halls to obtain the materials to summon Nightbane at the end of a full Karazhan Clear. Kill him, then run over to Blade's Edge Mountains and kill Gruul and you're done. Do that for everyone in the raid and you can start working on collecting this set.

IM happy im a Dis priest lol u holy and shadow argue so much about whos best when i just ease of my heals with my shielding and keeps my mana up with mana regen from armour. and with less agro from talents i rarely have to heal myself

Shadow priests have to be the most underated class in the game.
When you join a group for instances they immediately believe you to be the main healer of the group... Shadow spec is dps based... just as a warrior can be dps rather than tank. It is no crime for a group to have 2 priests and infact I don't remember a single time wiping with two priests in a group. If you have a heal spec and a shadow spec it's great for high level instances. For the lower instances just a shadow-priests healing is good enough. Two shadow priests with VE etc can keep the whole group running through every instance before 55 easily if they know their class.
I just wish people would accept shadow priests as DPS-based, not heal.
They are about the best secondary healer in the game when you consider the DPS they deal on top aswell. Stack your spirit and +DMG/HEAL stats and voila.

I love having shadow priests in my group. I am a holy specced priest with a little discipline for mana regeneration. I love shadow priests because of their buffs on me and their continual healing of the group. However, I do not advocate a shadow priest main healing in most level 70 five mans, and most definately not raids. I mean I myself, am at almost 1.5k healing unbuffed, and I feel I need the primal mooncloth set before touching Kara. I am also doing Heroics for armor. I think that shadow priests are a GREAT class and are heavily underrated. However, as I stated earlier since they lack the many talents that support healing in the holy tree, they will usually be much less effective. They'd need very powerful +healing gear to match my heals. It's just like fury warrior versus Protection warrior, you'd let the protection Warrior main tank and the fury warrior off tank, same goes for priests.

P.S. I can't tell you for sure, but if you are topping the meters it's because of over healing.

I LOVE you guys though, please keep speccing shadow.

The way I see it, the chances of a Greater Heal healing your main tank to 100% health before a faster heal or a renew does that are not very likely in 25man raids. It merely represents a situation where you wasted mana on a greater heal which wasn't worth it, so you get some of the mana back. Don't rely on this one tbh.

For the second set effect I need some confirmation: if two priests cast 2 renews on someone, do they get 30 resistance or 15? It would greatly enhance this ability's effectiveness if it stacks on each renew.

This 2 peice bonus is simply amazing. My priest can't live with out it in Black Temple!

On one fight I was restored 6,600 mana from the mana return. That's 66 gheals that topped somebody off.

Also, for the people with questions, it gives you 100 mana even if your target is already at full health.
