Common drop off any 50-58 spider, as the level of the spider decreases so does the chances of the Silk dropping. It's used in tailoring to craft the "Shadoweave" pieces of gear.

I got mine at the "Darkmist Cavern" in dustwallow marsh. Had to clear the whole cave three times before i got my first one. I wish you better luck.

Undermarket quest (50 elite, Searing Gorge) gives 15 of those.

Got one shadow silk from the spiders in the troll ruins in the hinterlands.. it dropped from a level 44 witherbark broodguard.

Better to sell or vendor it, but on Dalaran AH is kinda a waste on this stuff (alliance side). Default starting bid is 15s per, but there's so much of it that most singles have buyouts of only 10s. Better than vendoring, if it sells. If not, you're out a hefty deposit.

Only 2 engineering items, only useable by engineers. One set of cloth items, only useful to locks and priests. Just not enough market, lower spider silks sell for more and are easier to farm up.

What to do, if you need to get 27 Shadow Silk? I don't wanna be 5 days farming spiders

I've got many Shadow Silks fron Glassweb Spiders in Searing Gorge only few kills and I got about 5 or maybe i was just lucky ^^

It dropes loads of these when farming little ugly spiders in south of silithus.

Hehe, i cleared the whole mine in Dustwallow Marsh and i get 12 Shadow Silk so i dont think it is so rare. Or may be i just lucky :) come on guys dont give up!

Where is the best place to get this stuff when your a lvl 45 warlock?

If a warlock or a priest on this level got the whole shadoweave 'set' it would be pretty kick ass with all that extra shadow damage...

Ive found alot of these from the Glassweb Spiders in searing gorge, while i was doing a quest for their legs. about a stack in a half hour. they are in the south eastern part, near some alliance LW trainer.

Western Plaquelands spiders have great drop rates for all kinds of silks. I 4 Ironweb Spider SIlk and 5 Shadow Silk after killing for 5 minutes :P

Best place to find these are actually Western plaguelands. Almost every spider there drops them.

The best place to farm them is actually Darkmist Cavern because the mobs are incredibly weak and have a fairly high drop rate.

Swamp of Sarrows is the place where you have to go ,if you whant to get shadow silk by killing spiders there!

Ugh, sucks that you can start using this in low 40s for tailoring, but you can't start getting it until high 40s-low 50s...

At least the AH price tends to stay pretty low...

Killed 171 spiders in dustwallow Marsh (around 30,22) got 10 shadow silk and 15 thick spider's silk

Best I found to farm this was Dustwallow Marsh

A mine in the North West

Location 33.1 : 22.1

Lots of little spiders that spawn fairly fast, seems to be a quest hub so you will have competition.

Shadow Silk and Thick Spider's Silk both dropped.

One didn't see more common than the other just RNG, best of luck in your hunt.
