I was able to successfuly attach this scope to Swiftwind (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=13038).

Me being level 35, i could not attach the scope myself. I had someone over level 40 attach it through the trade window. I suppose this implies that the level 40 requirement means the item level must be level 40, as well as the player attaching it, but not the user.

Actually I have just asked another player (level 70) to attach it to my hunter's (a level 39 character) Outrider's Bow (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19560) which is a level 38 bow and it worked! So the item does not have to be level 40. You just need to ask a level 40+ player to attach it for you.

I was lucky enough to get this pattern during a BRD run, and this Scope has proved to be a nice little money maker for me.

The next level scope (Adamantite) sell for 3x as much as this scope, if not more, so it fills a very nice market niche for Hunters looking to buff their ranged weapon without breaking the bank.

For just a few gold in mats, I can turn around and easily sell several scopes per day for ~13g each. Very nice ROI :)

they go for around 4g on my server (eredar)

1. mithril is dirt easy to find. a stack goes for 8g max (usually around 4-5g)

2. star rubies are rare, but i've had around 3 or 4 drop before reaching lvl 40. just got another in maraudon today. they go on the AH for 1-1.5g each.

3. truesilver isn't too common, but i spot a vein ever 2 trips or so to the badlands. sells for about 40silver a bar.

i'm just going to give an engg the mats. i'm an engg too, all i need is 2 more true silver.

I'm not sure if this is already asked with another scope, but does this 7 dmg add to the DPS or to every attack? In the last case a fast weapon (bow) would have much more use of this than a slow weapon (gun)

i got my Sniper scope for only 2.5G with install on the Malygos Server! And there right bouthte the True siver ore, i have like 30 bars in the bank!

Let�s face it, to get the materials to make these is fairly easy. You should be able to buy all the items on the AH for about 10g. The reason they cost a lot to buy is for two primary reasons;

1/ Engineers are always poor, and this is about one of the only decent and in demand items that you can actually make & sell to non-engineers. Therefore, we will also try and sell these for maximum profit.

2/ The schematics to actually make them cost a fortune. I am yet to see them on my server for less that 50g bid, usually with a 80g+ buy out. Therefore, to justify the cost of purchase, you need to get a return.

And yes, the +7 dmg is per hit, therefore a gun fitted with this scope with a 1.5 speed will do twice the dmg of a 3.0 speed gun over the same period (obviously not taking into account dps and total dmg of the weapon in use).

im a 39 hunter and im using it. you have to have a 40 equip it for you in the trade window. it works!

Was lucky enough to pick up schems off AH for 18g... Even without mining I can buy in mass the mats for 7 or so for about 12 gold... Meaning I sell the scopes for 5g a peice, easy 20+ gold profit for minutes of work.

I think i remember seeing a scope of blue quality that adds 1% chance to crit with ranged... or am i wrong?

if u have a 40+ attack to a gun and ther gun in boe and is for a level 19 can the level 19 use the gun? plz answer back

Just tested out a theory with a 19 twink, the scope can at least be put on a gun that dosent have a lvl requirement

If the weapon is showing a level requirement below level 40 it won't work, otherwise anyone can attach the scope.

Just to let yall know.....I have a the master hunters bow and just put a sniper scope on it. +7 wooot. it does work...i just put it the trade window in the modify box, and th eng installed it for me....easy easy...scope was bought on mugthol for 4g

You can use this for twinks, but the ITEM level has to be above 40, and I can only assume you need a level 40+ to equip it for you through the trade window. I saw a twink with a master hunter's rifle (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=38532) that was equipped with the +7 scope.

Breakdown:

Recipe is world drop by the looks if it. Therefor, it is hard to farm it.

They are expensive on AH, so try to find engineer to make them with your mats. There are always some who will, being a poor lot :P

Anyone at the right level can attach it, so just ask a level 40 friend to do it for you.

The only weapon available for this scope at level 29 (for twinks) is Master Hunter's Bow/Rifle
( from the quest "Big Game Hunter" )

i'm fittin this on hurricane :P makes it insanely dps :P in combination with imp aspect of the hawk it's like a friggin' automatic weapon, with great dmg :P

Deadly scope costs more (sometimes) because many engineers make sniper scope and less of them deadly scope. Most of the time there is no competition @ AH. And aquamarine is not cheaper than star ruby :(

I can't find a better bow (that isn't a ludicrously priced EPIC), so I thought adding a scope would help...

So I'm a bit confused...

On my Bloodseeker xbow I attached this scope. My damage was 303-385. After attaching the scope it changed to 310-365. 7 added to minimum (and more DPS), but a huge loss to the top end? I also applied all my normal buffs before checking the numbers, so no aura's wore off or anything like that.
