While some may consider this trinket to be completely un-worthwhile to make, please first consider the following before stating that it is a waste of materials and/or time;

This trinket is essentially an unlimited source of bombs. Instead of having to constantly gather materials and make more bombs over and over and over again, costing you a great deal of fortune and raw materials, this device can create a new bomb every 30 minutes free of charge. A long cooldown such as this is a compensation for the fact that it can be used indefinitely; similar to other trinkets, this device has a cooldown that is reflective of the damage/usefulness that it has; more useful/damaging trinkets have a longer cooldown.

Once the trinket is made, you do not need to spend any more materials to further the creation of these bombs. If you compared the number of times that you will end up using this gizmo to the cost and bag space required to make just as many thrown bombs, you will see that it is a general profit to have this device.

I have one and use it often. Hell its a free bomb. A free bomb that seeks and explodes, like the sheep V2.0
30 min recharge time however, but you can use other bombs while it charges.

Very nice for a finishing pop in PVP and what not. you summon the bomb and it lasts for say 1 min before poofing if it does not find a target.

The last patch says that the bombs dropped by the Goblin Bomb Dropper now scale with engineering rate. What that suppose to mean ?

The bombs this things drops look like the ones in the Final boss of Gnomeregan, it was fun watching my party members try to blow up one of the dropped bombs as it crept toward Therma. It'd be nice if this was BoE instead. I'd like to get a goblin engineer to hook me up, but it looks like I'm just stuck with my Death Ray.

It's great, and very useful. It deals area of effect damage, so get one down while running into the opponent's flag room.

Does the Goblin Bomb Dispenser do more damage with higher engineering?

Very useful little toy, a free homing bomb every once and a while. Not very fast though, warriors beware that it can be left behind when charging and intercepting, I've wasted a couple that way, since they only last a minute before dying on their own. Nice for one on one battles too, since it pops out instantly (no progress bar), so you can be dueling or defending yourself when jumped and just real quick click it on your hotbar and out pops some free damage. The little thing's cute too, if that governs your playing...

OK so it says eng 230 so if i take up goblin eng and then go to gnome by unlearning my eng could i still use this after dropping goblin ? i'm told it doesn't work this way but it doesn't say requires goblin eng on it unless if you drop eng and take it back up you still have the goblin eng regardes of how many times you drop it ? does any one know ? please post a response. I would really love to have all the items i could make from goblin then go and take gnome cuz its better ....

does this really share a cooldown with the mechanical dragonling? I know the gnomish battle chicken doesn't. Also, which of the two is more useful? Seems to me the chicken would be, because it would actually last the whole 1.5 min (assuming it doesn't get killed), whereas the bomb would just blow up and be gone.

Recent patch (1.10) allows you to relearn engineering to switch over, I believe.

Every time I try to use this, I get hit for about 300-400 points of damage by my bomb's malfunction effect.

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Have all the pets that engineering lets me have id have a slightly weaker mechanical pet that can be used for about 15 minutes every hour quite nice if you ask me

It dont get destroyed getting malfunction, it's just a "wasted" use. Only bad thing is that you loose some life and have to wait another 30min to use it again. If it dont explodes in malufunction that time too..

Got a lvl 41 Gnome Rogue with 300 Engineering skill, used this bomb on a lvl 41 wolf in Feralas (Sardor Isle), the bomb critted the wolf for 768 damage and did cut half of wolfs hp. If this happens when you're low on health with a malfunction you're screwed. x)

This thing has come in handy countless times in PVP, and otherwise. I've yet to have it fail, and it's a great blast followed by a Solid Dynamite or Big One, usually leaving any foe near death.

Awesome. I'd love something LIKE this to help me pwnatize a few rogues who like to sap me, but I'd need a li'l something called DOT. Anythings like this that do DOT damage?
Or would the AoE make up for the fact that it has no DOT?

I agree, this sounds like it would be awsome in BG's. something to compete with the ice traps that horde constantly set.

this is very great device. it may sound less usefull because it doesnt point out that it does AOE dmg. the explosion is aoe dmg, doing 315-385 to ALL mobs near the target mob that the bomb explodes on. basically free bomb every 30mins, very worth making.

There's a lot of confusion about this currently. There are basically four types of items that can be made by engineers:

BoE items that can be used by any engineer and traded.
BoP items that can be crafted by a specific specialization, but used by any engineer
Items that require a specific specialization to use.
BoP items that can be crafted by an engineer, but can be used even after engineering is dropped

Gnomish Engineering allows you to craft these items:

If your intent is to switch to Goblin after crafting all the goodies (by dropping and re-leveling Engineering), you should probably craft all of these items, but you must craft Gnomish Goggles, Gnomish Battle Chicken, Gnomish Death Ray, and Lil' Smoky (these are BoP) or you will lose access to these items permanently (unless you drop and re-level gnomish engineering again.

Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan and World Enlarger cannot be used by a non-gnomish engineer, so you can skip crafting these if you're planning on switching.

NOTE: Gnomish Death Ray doesn't require Engineering to use, so technically, you could level Engineering to craft this item, and drop it and still be able to use it.
