Dream Dust can be fairly expensive on the AH. My suggestion (if you're also a tailor) is to make either:

Black Mageweave Shoulders (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=10027)
or
Black Mageweave Headband (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=10024)

and disenchant them. About 3/4 of the time you'll yield Dream Dust and the other 1/4 you'll get either Nether Essences or Large Radiant shards. Either way, you'll end up with something that can help you level through enchanting.

You will get Dream Dust from items that demands level 41-50 to use.

Level 41-45: 75% of the armors you dissenchant will give you 1-2xDream Dust. 25% of the weapons.
Level 46-50: 75% of the armors you dissenchant will give you 2-5xDream Dust. 25% of the weapons.

Places to get Dream Dust is:
ZF
ST
Mara
BRD

If you can, I would rather make Runecloth Belts(https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=13856) and dissenchant them for 2-5 Dream Dust.

Im a tailor and making runecloth belt works well!

I spended about 40gold to buy runecloth

Crafted runecloth belt and got lesser eternal essence + dream dust.

The essence i made into "greater essence" and it sold well on the ah, just about to finance the runecloth purchase. So i got around 60-70 dreamdust for free. =)

If you are powerleveling enchanting, a very easy way to get large amounts of these is just to buy the cheapest armor you can find from levels 46-50. If Diamond Focus Rings and/or Wicked leather bracers/gloves are plentiful on your server (as they are on mine) You'll get an extra bonus as they both regularly disenchant into either Dream Dust or Lesser Eternal Essence which you will need after Dream Dust.

I bought about 75 gold worth of disenchantable 46-50 armor from the AH, with prices between two gold and five gold (Mostly comprised of Diamond Focus Rings and Wicked Leather Bracers, which both sold for just over three gold) and ended up with six lesser eternal essences and 26 dream dust. Thus, I got from 260 to 272 using Enchant Bracer- Greater Stamina and Enchant Bracer- Greater Intellect; and for a total of about 75 gold.

I'm no WoW financial advisor, but if your server is anything like mine is, this might be worth trying for any impatient powerlevelers.

runecloth belts are definately the way to go for dream dust, yield much more per DE then mageweave items

These are by far the best for dream dust. over 250% disenchant rate. No sense in wasting time doing anything other than these

Rune Thread is a bit of a sting at 45s a pop though, best off if you cba doing an instance.

Oh and, what instance would you do anyway?

Where's a good place to farm for items that disenchant to Dream Dust? I need lots of it, and prices on AH are too high.

What I usually do is gather lots of mageweave cloth and make black mageweave headbands to disenchant. You can always get 1 or 2 dream dust from each.

I've been working on leveling my Blacksmithing, and have found that Imperial Plate Belts disenchant into Dream Dust nicely. Usually x3, but I have gotten x2 a couple of times and even 1 x5.

ive found runecloth belts DE into 3-4, somtimes 5 dream dust each.since mageweave seems to be the same price as runecloth nowadays, ive found it to be cheaper to grind on the runecloth belts, especially since it only takes 3 bolts to make

I found that Simple Opal Ring yielded the most results, crafted by your local JC. 4-5 dust almost every time.

I get a bunch of Lesser Eternal Essence when I dis this aswell as the Dream Dust. Probably about 50% each so far after about 25 of them.

I disenchanted some Runecloth belts to see if they were as viable as people here point out;

Belt 1: 2 dust
Belt 2: 5 dust
Belt 3: 5 dust
Belt 4: 4 dust
Belt 5: 2 dust
Belt 6: 2 dust

6 Belts, 20 dust, 3.333 average

Thus, some comments here are not entirely true, not over 250% rate but still viable

Bought each Belt off AH for 1.10g
Dreamdust sells for 33s on Golemagg
On Golemagg, these numbers perfectly match

Belt: 1.10g x 6 = 6.60g
20 average dust x33s = 6.60g
