An AMAZING Pre Raid Tank ring. Best used by Prot warriors, although us Offtank Warriors can make use of it. Its Def mod, Stam, and Armor are all fantastic. I would recommend this to ANY Tank warrior.

The drop rate of this great tanking ring is around 15%. You may need to do a few BRD runs to get it but it is worth it.

Kill Lord Angerforge while you are in BRD for a chance to get the other great tanking item - the Force of Will trinket.

Very good ring but obviously benefits Bear Druids the most. Still, any tank capable of tanking should try for this. Not too hard to see drop, easy boss to kill and a you'll get a pretty good ring out of it.

Heh looking at the stats for this it even is similar to that of the Diablo II version:

Magic Damage reduced by 3
+50-75 to Attack Rating
Attacker takes 3 Damage
15-30% better chance of getting magic item

This ring is really good for an AoE Protection Paladin. The extra 3 damage to attackers will be a great addition to Retribution Aura. I anticipate it'd be hard to replace as a grinding item far into the 60s.

i just got this ring yesterday, and on my stat sheet it says that it is only adding +40 armor instead of 50. is anyone else having this problem?

great for bear tanking, 50 armor = 230 armor in bear
decent stamina, and some defense is always a plus
the 3 dmg to attackers is just a bonus

This is now officially the best ring for tanks outside ZG/MC/BWL+!
+5 defense equals +0,4% parry, block and -0,4% to get hit & crit!
10 stamina and 50 armor is always useful, and the 3 arcane dmg when struck is usefull for holding aggro, although 3 dmg/hit won't help that much ;)

Hmm.
Raggy has been tanked with a druid. A guild on my server used a feral druid to tank Jindo the other day. But hey keep whining "my class only". Oh and endgame is other things then just MC/BWL/ZG/AQ. Its also pvp, and this ring is very nice for a feral druid indeed.

we were doing BRD yesterday. it dropped and lvl 60 warrior (my guild boss) needed it so I passed, im a druid. then some rogue needs for it and gets it. NOT for a rogue.

Anyone - except perhaps Warriors - who rolls on this at the expense of a Feral Druid needs to be taken outside and beaten for not knowing anything about the classes in this game and their needs.

A Feral Drood gets more out this ring than a Warrior does. It's close thing, but it better for Droods. In fact there is only one non-Raid Ring in the entire game better for Feral Droods than this ring (i.e. Ring of Protection). No other class can say that. And no the Tortoise Ring is not better.

This is the last time I'm grouping with a paladin.. Ever! What is it with you? I have lost every single BoP +defense item I have to paladins _atleast_ twice, and I'm so sick of it.

Last night I went with this group to BRD, we killed the golemlord, and this ring dropped. Now, before we even entered the blackrock mountain, I asked nicely if I could have the ring if it dropped. No one replied, so I figured they didn't care. When it did drop, however, the paladin rolled "need" and won the roll.

Seriously.. Horde always complain and say that alliance warriors have somekind of "Ez-mode" because to Blessing of salvation and fear-ward, but I dare you to roll a warrior on alliance and group with those flashy, golden "I-don't-know-what-I'm-doing-paladins", and I promise you, you won't ever mention anything about alliance "ez-mode" ever again. I'm sick of this...

It would've been alright if the paladins said that they did need the items, but that has not happened once! It's always "k you can have it if it drops" or "i dun even kno waht it is lol" and then, when something drops, all you see in the chatlog is 10 lines of "NEEED!" and have recieved

restoration spec you can run into an instance and aggro as much as you can handle, earth shield and healing stream will keep you alive and the dmg from this ring will hold aggro on you on all those adds so that you can drop aoe totems to dmg, if oyu dont have an item like this or take the time to hit each on then your totem will get killed before doing dmg.

1)I'd say it's a toss up between "good" tanking warriors or "good" tanking druids, bottom line is, if a druid saves the day over and over while the warrior runs around trying to out-dps everyone then by all means, give it to the drood, I'd say give it to the skilled, not by default, hell if a pally tanks the best that day, it's his.

2)I have 2 60 druids and a 3rd on its way ( yes I'm a freak ), you know what I have come to find out? bad feral druids "usually" would be in cat forms trying to show how bad he can kick ass, bad overall druids would spam moonfire and feel awesome about themselves, but...in bear form, I really haven't seen that many "bad" druids, think this way, what the hell can you really show off in bear form? not much eh? so things tend to fall back to the basics and fundamentals, and you know what? that's normally the best situation.

I just won this in BRD on my Prot Paladin. Rogue in the group rolled Need on it because he's a moron, but something so stupid isn't even worth an argument. I've been in groups where people have lost a roll on an item they wanted to a class that benefited less from it, and they always act really immature about it. Just bite the bullet and have a little more maturity than the general populous of WoW.

Tanked up to Golem Lord and I'm only lvl 51, can't wait to use it as any reflective damage is priceless when AoE grinding.

BTW: Is it OK for Pallies to use this ring now?

Wow they made this ring sweet. It was +10 AR instead of the armor and def... WOW its sweet now... this with the drillborer sweet.

Ya so a pally decided that him and his 2 handed weapon while im tanking with a mason's fraternity ring, needed this and rolled against me with the consent of the PUG I was in, I hearthed out the second he won, what does a pally need with +5 def?

Just got this and decided to test it out on packs of lower level mobs.
Seems Blizzard added a hidden internal cooldown to it so it's once every 3 or 4 seconds. Very disappointing.

It clearly says when struck in combat not has a chance to do damage.
