As far as I know this is the best dropped, rare class tank helmet you can get without raiding. It used to drop off of Phalanx, but now it drops off of Magmus, the magma giant in the hall before the Emperor.

nice helm, but https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=17734 is also a good helmet, giving nature protection and lots of armor

it drops in BRD in the bar...there are 2 quests that take you to the bar( ribbly's and the brew one) these two are rele easy to do and then u can kill the phalyax guy....he dropped the head for me and thank god (no pallys)....

To make him angry you go and buy the beer from the vendor guy in the room...Then you give it to the Green Named dwarf and keep giving it to him, he asks for 2 each time, and usually it takes about 6 beers for him to get moving...He'll go over to a keg, try and open it and the top will pop off, busting down the door, Phalanx will get pissed and run over to guard the door...Then you can go kill him

this is a GOOD tanking helm, but definately NOT the best tank helm in the game. Not even the best Blue.

Enchanted thorium helm is a better tanking helm, easily.
More DEF + More Stamina + More Armor = Better helm.

The Enchanted thorium helm is CRAFTED, and expect it to cost about 300-350 GOLD.

Yes, that is a steep price for a non epic helm, but trust me, its worth every penny.

To Orica: the difference between might and wrath is neglible too if you look at it that way :p
Thorium helm is the best helm outside raid instance (20+) you can get, and i would actually take it over might in most situations, but this ofc depends on your other gear and the mobs.
Even though, this helm is pretty good considering its a drop, and there for free of charge :) (second best helm)

Will the simple thief who took his helmet, please return it and start taking away his bloody gloves and fist weapon? Done this x times and he always drops either gloves or fist weapon !

Not that i really need it anymore, its more of a principle and stubborness i venture into brd to get this helmet.

Can anyone confirm whether or not you can still get this helm from Phalanx, or is it Magmus only now? Phalanx keeps dropping pure crap.

I went in to BRD, and we killed Magmus, and it drops on my first time EVER going there! And since I was the only platey there, i needed it.

This helm no long drops from Phalanx, it drops from Magmus.

This only drops off of Magmus now. It no longer drops from Phalanx at all. So now instead of being able to farm the bar you have to go all the way to the freakin' end. It's a true pain in the butt.

not quite as good as ETH Enchanted Thorium Helm still an excellent pre-epic tanking helm and the price is right :)

for those reading the comments that it dont drop from phalax any more, i have seen it drop today from phalax, so with the current classic version, it does :P
