This item used to be rather valuable pre-TBC for non raiding Casters. 20 spell damage didn't exist on most Main hand spell weapons so even less on held in off hands.

The spirit of aquementas does a lot of damage now, at +20. If you're a warlock, it's probably worth keeping and using at this point, even better than +crit items. This might apply to mages, too.

im warlock, love this for my +spell dam gear, i now have over +200 for shadow spells. and i still have room for two bands of the underwold, a +spell dam neck and two trinket slots available for +spell dam stuff, can't wait till i have full +dam gear. my shadowbolts can already crit for 1500 or so.(with cos, never go without it!)

edit: just came across this post i made when i was still in my 50s. lol my current setup i have well over 550spell/shadow dmg....1.1years ago wow, seems hard to believe i've been playing that long.

I mean, seriously. When you're lvl 60, you're not gonna use the offhand. There's so many other things out there that you could get.

The sword, however, is priceless. Even though it has virtually no stats, it's something you can show off to your friends. Same with the boomerang.

does any1 know if this item is a zelda reference? b/c the quest you get it from is a huge reference to zelda and the boomerang and the sword are references.... what about this?

The redesign happened with the BWL patch, it will be interesting if this item will be in it's original form when Classic comes out, or if they'll have the updated version immediately.

I think it's actually +20 damage, which ain't half bad considering it's a quest reward.

Listen, +20 Damageto spells is still pretty damngood for an off hand, combine it with a good caster sword like inventors focal sword with +22 intel and BAM! +1 crit chance, +20spell dmg, and +22 intel, so quit yer whining cuz its a damn fine off handand it looks cool too

i cant believe they changed this from -25 mana to all spells to +11 damage. It's basically useless now.

I did this whole quest, went to hand it in and realized that i must have thrown away the silver totem of aquementas... 'doh! Anyone know how i can complete it/redo the quest?

Great item, especially for it's lvl, too bad I disenchanted it.

+20dmg is a very good offhand! Like the guy below me says, +dmg is the most important stat for raiding.
You won't upgrade this very fast, trust me. =D
