The best way to obtain these in quantity is to mine+prospect thorium ore. Otherwise, stake out at the AH and be prepared to spend 10g each.

I'm assuming that you can prospect the things out of Thorium Ore. I haven't seen these off of any common Thorium Vein. I've pulled one in my WoW career off of a Rich Thorium Vein. These gems don't seem to be common

You can mine these off of any thorium node.

I've mined two off of smalls in the past two days.

I actually was surprised to get a Huge Emerald whilst prospecting Mithril ore as i was just standing around in an auction house. The biggest surprise was that i didn't get my usual gemless pile of mithril powder.

Levels 290-300 in Jewelcrafting are mostly Huge Emerald-based, although if you're lucky you can use a few sapphires and Azerothian Diamonds in the yellow to get a couple of levels.

Prospecting the 10-20 Huge Emeralds you need from Thorium Veins is a pain in the arse, and takes quite a few stacks. I have grown to hate Star Rubies.

Yeah no doubt, and the economy on AH has them selling for 20 gold a piece now, think blizzard could have given us a couple more patterns. And of course thorium ore is going for 22 gold(note you prospect ore not bars) lol.

I just sold three of these on my server for 30g. (10g apiece)

The prices on Agamaggan are crazy high, 24g for one!

I really don't like ripping people off, but I don't like getting the short end of the stick either.

Man, getting these things is painful. I had my main do a run around winterspring, collected 2 stacks of thorium ore in about 15 min and posted them to my 59 lock who is a JCer. I need 6 to get to 300... but didn't prospect a single one. Oh and...

I HATE STAR RUBIES!

Score of the day was finding 2 on the AH for 2 gold though :D The rest were all sort of 13-20g/each.

The Ooze covered thorium veins in Sithilus seem to have a lot of Huge Emeralds in them.

looks like all of these gems get used quite abit in jewel crafting, expect prices to rise in tbc.
