Shahram looks like a big snake if I remember right.

The spirit is a Flamewalker, like Lucifron or Majordomo. From what I gather, all he does is assist and melee.

In 2+ years of playing WoW I've only seen one of these, and have never seen it drop is about 50-60 UBRS runs.

I used to have this sword before my character was deleted.

Alot of people will pass on this sword because it lacks stats. Personally, I loved it. The flamestrike is the most common proc. But the stat buffs STACK.

If you have this, and windfury, you can gain 250 to all stats.

And let me tell you - there is nothing quite like AOE stunning alliance in Alterac Valley. I think I stunned at least 10. It was beautiful.

Raaaaaaaaaaaaare drop off of Rend in UBRS. This weapon is absolutely fantastic. FANTASTIC! The best pre-raid 2h hands down, especially for MS warriors. If you are a warrior/paladin and this drops, ROLL ON IT! As the above poster said, the proc is quite nice! The slow speed makes it even more amazing. Great sword, amazing for any 2h using class.

Lacking many worthwhile stats, this sword is not too great. You could benefit better from other weapons that have the stats that boost whatever suits your needs. However, it is fun to play around with and would probably be good for someone who likes to RP.

The sword lacks stats, but it is a great sword to have fun with and it can ease up any 5/10-man run by a lot. And the buffs do stack. I have it on my warrior and i really dont want to get another sword. I like it too much. But the items in outlands easy outpreforms this one if you look at pure stats and dps.

They should call this sword Sheepbane, broke my sheep all the time playing with my warrior friend who had it. Wouldn't use in an instance you're learning but it was fun to have running Scholo/Strat with all the random effects.

I had this on my hunter... and let me tell you there was nothing funnier than equipping it during an MC run and going Melee to see it proc while you were fighting Lucifron and have ppl freak cause there was a "loose add." LOL. Good times...

The effect on this is an elemental that casts a random spell, then disappears: curse on target, 5 sec group haste, group heal 50 every 5 sec for 15 sec, or a 150ish AoE, or +50 all stats lasts 5 sec. Also, it dropped off of General Drakkisath in UBRS (very rarely).

Yea won this blade with a 72 so was awsome...im a ret pally so i ue this all the time. First one on server maybe (not like this makes you good). Dont think anyone mentioned that this does party buffs as well just not for the weilder so makes it extra special for raiding *puts me in groups over other pallies* :)....happy hunting for it (does same party buffs as what it procs with)

This blade is awesome when it procs against lots of enemies, like in the Solkar (Leroy) room if eggs are popped and so on. Working on getting a screenshot with Shahram and 20 stunned dragons in the background..

The +50 all stat seems to proc the most for me.. Anyone else experienc the same thing? The group haste doesn't seem to proc as often.

Slapped on a crusader on this, but still using Blackhand Doomsaw + SoCom for PvP.

As much as I hate people not letting hunters get any melee weapons, I have to say that I would pass this on to a warrior or paladin that needs it more, because it summons that dude, and hunters already have pets so...(and it's not exactly the best purple weapon in the game).

k now to settle this, its an all class wep, nobody has specal permits to roll on it its good all around, even without stats, the spirit does quite some damage ( I Have this blade)

This just dropped today on Kilrogg. A hunter was begging for it, and claimed he won it in a roll (he did) but we gave it to a warrior instead since hunters should not have this, not a good hunter weapon at all. Sine i too am a hunter he got mad at me for telling him to let the warrior take it. Oh well, the warrior should have it. And it looks freaking sweet!

This dropped for me last night and the stats have been changed with 1.10. It's now far more suitable for MS Warriors. The DPS is still the same, but the max damage has been upped to 250 and the speed has been slowed to something like 3.70, going from memory.

I'm a dual wielding Prot-ish Warrior, but I carry a 2 hander for Whirlwinds and stuff. The only others in our raid who could equip it were another full prot Warrior and a Hunter. Neither of them wanted it so I rolled need. It was a guild raid so no one had a problem with it, and it's a good upgrade from the Warblade of Caer Darrow or Barbarous Blade that I was previously using.

EDIT: My bad, I see the change has already been discussed. Well at least I can confirm that it is changed on the live servers. ;)

i was a pally running with the Daggers of Varian, we finished running the UBRS and this dropped. I rolled a 100 and "Reubias" the loot master decided to give it to one of his Dagger's guildies instead. i emailed the guild master and he was also a useless. so if your see a 60 mage on Earthen ring called Reubias, tell him he's a ninja %^&* and dont group with him

Picked this up on Darkspear today (second person on the server that I'm aware of), a few others were rolling on it, rolled an 88. Putting a crusader on it and then I'm going to get my 2h swords to 300. Also I love the proc rate on it.

Ps. The attack speed on it IS infact 3.5 not 2.3. It has been signifigantly buffed.

Yeah i got the weapon, and its my first epic, i got it thanks to a Master looter. (since the ranged class erm... what are they called?... - oh yeah, the hunter, rolled need). I rolled highest vs another Warrior, as the hunter rolls were discarded.

Dont have any thing against hunters that have the weapon, but clearly, its a melee classed weapon and ffs, hunters are RANGED!

Would be fun to see a hunter go in melee bcos they have the weapon though XD LMAO

Any ways, i must say it proccs a lot (hope they wont change it cos it pwns) and i get the +50 stat all the time, ive even got tripple buffed with +50 mana/health regen x2 and one +50 to all stats. (fighting in an instance vs a group of mobs ofc. but any way ;P).

Dont need any hunters to reply to this, bcos come on guys, how happy would you be when a melee classed person rolled need on your epic bows / guns, with a reason like: "Well they always tell me as a tank to pull and i need a fast bow / Or a rouge for making difficult pulls with stealth, i mean c'mon. (so dont get mad at me... <3!)

Btw grats to every one, the drop is freakin low :>! Alliance ftw ;P

We finished MC early and were bored, so we decided to get some boost to FR and did some UBRS. This happened to drop, but it was a shame all the warriors had OEB already. Pretty cool procs, I had him test it on me afterwards, as a lock, I really like the mana/health regen myself. Very much a cool-factor weapon. Definately not abd at 59.4 DPS and 3.5 speed, the +50 stat blessing makes up for no stats, IMO.

60 war just got this, beat out other war. Amazing procs sometimes. At one point, i got +50 to all stats 4 times, that's +200 all stats!

This was the most amazing UBRS run in my life. I'm a 60 Warrior, and my friend, a 60 Paladin, asked me if I wanted to go on a UBRS run with him. I was like, "sure," and we ended up getting 8 more people very, very quickly, and we were a very balanced and pretty cooperative group. So we're dropping mobs on the balcony above the Rookery, and a Myrmidon's Signet drops. It was pretty sweet. We moved on, and while clearing the Chromatic dragonkin in Rend's room before the fight with him, a Krol Blade drops. The same person won the Krol Blade, but he ended up giving it to the second highest roller later on. So far, that's two epics! BoE epics! We're all like "OMG" and "LOL," but it was awesome. So I'm hoping for the Breastplate of Valor to drop from Drakkisath, and he ends up dropping the Blackblade of Shahram, and, again, we were all shocked, because three epics in one run is, obviously, not that common to happen! So I rolled against three other players, and no one ninjaed, and I won. It was an awesome run. And to think, I probably would have been fighting in WSG or AB, trying to hit Rank 8...and I respecced to readjust my Arms talents, and I have yet to fight with this sword. It should be fun! I'll take the advice that I read here and have my friend slap a Fiery enchant on it for me. ^^

Don't put fiery on it unless you just want to see the fire graphic, or you're poor. This sword MORE than deserves a Crusader enchant or a +25 agi enchant. Both would be very good, i chose Crusader tho cuz i like procs. The enchants are worth it because the item is so rare that anyone with a head on their shoulders would keep it for fun even if they upgraded from it.

There might be better weapons around, DPS- and stats-wise. But this weapon is definitely the coolest weapon I've ever seen. Nothing beats mini Luci's popping up from time to time :)

Can this weapon proc only in melee combat?
If so, I don't understand why hunters roll on this, because it has got no stats. Only DPS and the proc thingy.
I mean like....... IT SUCKS FOR HUNTERS!
Enough with hunters rolling on this, when / if they win it, and wear it, it isn't even good for them.
They just have it because the name is in purple, and
the hunters who has this think that they can walk around in Ironforge and look cool.
But when i see hunters with this, I don't think they're cool, I just assume they're ninjas.
Hunters just have it for their own sadisfaction.

I have this weapon, and I've tried it in many raids. It only affects the party of the wielder, so it would be best to put the person using it in the party with the main DPS, main tank, etc.

Hunters quit going wild over every god damn 2h wep you see. Honestly u roll on every &*!@ing 2h wep u see and its always swords. Im not saying all hunters are like this this is for the few that keep rolling on weps like these and taking them from wars who need them more. How would you guys feel if a war rolled on an epic ranged wep?

I got this sword last night, it's a pretty nice sword for any DPS Warrior or Paladin, especially since the buffs can seriously help a group. As far as I've been told the AoE enemy stun can stun just about any boss in the entire game. I'd like somebody to confirm this if possible. The guy himself looks like a human sized Lucifron. I have no idea what the proc rate is for this sword but it does seem to proc a good bit. I figured out why this sword does what it does also. This spirit Shahram for whatever reason decided to move into this sword, and whenever you start banging him around inside there by attacking whatever he gets pissed off and jumps out from time to time to see what's going on. Rather than be pissed at you (which is a good thing because he'd probably totally whoops the crap out of you) he decides to help you get ride of whatever is messing with you so you won't have to bang his home around any more. Pretty cool arangement if you ask me.

i only read a lil more than half the posts so sry if i reapeat anything...this is NOT a hunter weapon, it is nice but its a melee proc with no hunter stats and as a fellow hunter i can say this very surely. pls i hate hearling ppl complain that half the hunters ever r retards! needing/equiping this item if ur a hunter. if u ever did that it gives the rest of us a bad name!it makes all the other classes not want to let us have the melee wepons we actually need! really the only thing id do with this is put it in my bank, show it off to my friends and have them say ," u lucky son of a !@$%&!" then i would get bored and vendor it :) ... (the show off thing is just somethin i would do im not telling any1 to do it it would just b funny)

EDIT: this doesnt just go for the this weapon, this goes for all those hunter wasted weapons out there that r for pallys or warriors

Honestly this weapon holds its weight still in TBC.

2.3 is coming out soon and pallies will be able to DPS.

ATM however i stand as a ret pally and dps when my threat maxes out i slap on this bad boi and i DPS/buff my groups dps more than a shamans Bloodlust!

That haste... ya it stacks. Your raid group will love you pallies if you just put it on for 15 seconds and let some buffs fly.

Seal of the Crusader + this sword and Abacus then haste procs i cant tell you how sweet it is. You might not be dealing a ton of damage but every 20 seconds your party gets +25% haste!
ARE YOU GETTING THIS? RET PALLIES?

ya it does stil hold itself a bit... and i guess if u only used it for the buffs ret palles would be a good choice...
using seal of the crusader would up attack speed, but i think maybe it keeps the proc rates at the same %

ive seen retadins in 25mans and if a guild wants to try this i could understand

id take barons blade over this ne day of course i have his blade ne way :) but i find the dps and damage being higher is a real help to me bein an arms specced warrior my sword hits for like 5000 with execution

I just looted this with my Orc Warrior. I'm arms spec, and with the new stats this will be a fun sword to play around with. Taking into cross realm AVs will be fun for sure, or dpsing in MC or BWL. Anyways, this was the 3rd epic drop in the same UBRS run. First drop was the Cloudkeeper Legplates, then teh Pristine Hide off the beast, and finally this sword. I was upset about the legplates for the whole run, because they dropped off 1 of the very first mobs and everyone rolled because they are BoE. But looting this sword of Drakk made up for it in the end.

If this drops, give it to the warriors. Any weapon with such a grand proc must be had by our class. Such skills as retaliation, sweeping strikes, cleave, and mortal strike, we can proc this more than any other class.

Warrior would probably be a good choice for a group that does MC and Onyxia a lot, but theres no reason a Pally cant have rights to this. With seal of crusader, you're lookin at about 1.4 speed for an off tank... not like damage is important for pallys anyway, might as well give them a reason to be up there swinging :-)

Hunters: Don't even think about it. You're thinking about it right now, stop that!

I (horde 60 warrior with Reaper) see this as a paladin weapon pretty much. Paladins have the luxury of the best PvP survivability to do enough normal swings for this to proc (they rely a lot on SoC to proc anyway).

This weapon is no good for overpower/mortal strike/etc. No good stats for hunters (+crit, +anything).

I could maybe see this working for a fury warrior, but with the recent patch it's clear that fury warriors are meant to dual-wield.

By the way, survival specced hunters still suck at melee. In melee, a survival specced hunter would still lose out to all other melee and hybrid melee classes; paladins, warriors, rogues, shamans, druids. At least at range, even survival specced, they would have a good shot at a few of those classes.

Everyone who *!@#$ed about a hunter having the Runeblade of Baron Rivendare was wrong.

Anyone upset about a hunter having this sword is justified as it's such a waste for him. No stats, not a slow swing speed, and it has a proc that a hunter will rarely ever see.

Unless you're a survival spec'ed hunter, let the wars/palis have it.

This seems alot more common than .19%.

I have 2 guildmates with 1, and ive seen various people with it.

Only 1 headmasters charge from gandling drops on the server, and thats .25%

Just dropped for a PUG, I was leading and decided the only fair thing to do was to let warriors and paladins roll. When a paldin won the warriors both let of a lot of foul language and left the group XD

It does break sheep, chains, and gouge as far my experimentation has shown me. This is a very fun sword to play with. Especially when your party members say things like "What the hell was that?" or "Dude the proc on that sword owns!" really makes you feel proud to have one. Don't bother hunting this, you have better chances of winning a roll against 10 people for a raid weapon than you do of finding this thing.

This wep looks alot better on paper then it is to use, both for wars who want a max hit wep for damage, and paladins who are forced to look for a max hit wep for command because blizz butt-loved SotC... Also for those of you that said this procs alot you wrong, the proc rate sucks cahonas, less then 5%..

As a paladin, i cant muster more then around 100dps with this (command, crusader, jotc + sor, doenst matter they all about the same) as opposed to 150+ with command weps like doomsaw and hammer of the titans.

Im really disapointed in this wep and had much higher hopes for something with almost 60dps on it.

this weapon is great. it procs as much as destiny, which means it procs ALL DAY LONG. i've personally had the +50 stats stack 3 times during a single fight, giving me +150 to all stats... that was a rare one, but it happens.

Hmmmmm... this is now a half-decent Mortal Strike weapon I agree. But I wouldn't touch it because I'm fury *Nods repeatedly*
I'd ALMOST and I repeat ALMOST, let this go to a paladin over a warrior. Because most warriors have to whip out their shield and crappy 1handed mace in instances, even when they'd rather be wielding their arcanite reaper or whatever huge weapon they lay their hands on.

Therefore, the party affecting proc of the sword, would be nice on a paladin, since he could be dealing some damage to the best of his capability, and dropping in some heals and blessings now and then. Every so often this nice proc could go off and boost the party.

Pally weapon!

I'd also like to point out that I'm an orc warrior... so it wouldn't be annoying any of my warrior pals *Grin*

Nothing against any of you who say hunter's are better at ranged, but they are (personally) the most versatile of all classes. Agility/stam/crit gear for marksmanship spec'd hunters... Strength/agility/crit gear for survival spec'd.... etc.. etc... anyone who has ever witnessed a survival spec'd hunter in action (one that knows what they are doing) can vouch for me, They rock! Tons of stun effects, WC,FD, freeze trap, etc.. Not a rogue in the WORLD that could beat a good survival spec'd... not any class, for that matter... I dueled a pally (a damn good one) for over 2 hours. It ended abruptly as the servers came down for scheduled maintenance, so we never got to see who won. Ranged hunters (marks spec'd) are a bit more useful for instances and actual PvP battles, whereas Survival is most useful for 1 on 1 encounters (such as hunter epic quest encounters) and duels.... blah blah blah

with 1.8 patch that just came out, this sword is wet dream for any arms/fury warrior since Mortal Strike depends on weapon speed now also. Anything higher then 3.3 will suck like hell.

Party benefits :
300: hp / mana recover / 20 sec (awesome!)
Haste like 25%-30% / 10 sec

non-Party :
+50 all stats for 20 sec, stack, saw by myself 3 times
AE stun, like 5 sec
AE slow
AE fire spell, 100-150 dmg.

Funny weopon, just a toy. It would be awesome if only the party effect would proc.
Also, as a hunter survivor, you proc this all the time when you're tanking, seing like 2,3...4! spirit casting their spell.

Edit : Benediction now works every 3 sec.

I was in UBRS group when a 6man rend run was almost wiping at end of rend. This guy summoned and got aggro. WE WON!lol it looks just like the dragon in the chambers of time or whatever in tanaris but ghosty and green.

Don't be a stupidass, CowTippa. Use a +agi/stam item, or (god help me for saying this) the runeblade of rivendare for cryin' out loud. Weapons with procs are for people who plan to stay in the fray.

This dropped today in UBRS and my rogue also got his Shadowcraft Tunic on his first run in months. Our warrior just banked this wep though cause even though the proc rate is good, the proc really isnt that great.

In case you didn't know, Will of Shahram gives +50 all stats for 20 seconds. I've had 2 procs on at the same time. Both buffs show.

That's 200 attack power, 5% crit and 1000 hit points for 20 seconds.

Yes. And now with 250 top end damage, it's a mortal strike viable weapon.

this dropped today in UBRS on frostmourne.

this thing has insane procs. Some amazing things do happen, such as 1 +50 stats buff, and 2 aoe. The guy looks like ambassador in BRD.

He also has a buff that gives 50 health/5sec and 50 mana/3sec for 20 secs. And the 5s stun and a 8sec speed boost thats a group boost.

if counterweight increases the proc chance by 3%, then its probably the best enchant for it. Otherwise, Crusader/25agil

As I'm rogue still waiting for felstriker.
Won Pristine Hide myself and now I have Breastplate of Bloodthirst.
Chromatic Carapace got Ninjaed by mage.
And this one went to Warrior which was quite happy after wipeing couple times while it was 5 am.

LOL, I watched a hunter roll need on this against a Warrior! He was arguing, sayin he uses melee. Thank god the Warr won it. We had to tell how stupid it was for him to roll.

Ive had the sword for about 2 months, and I must say i am dissapointed, sure I got crusader on it, and the attack speed makes crusader and the weapon itself proc alot. BUT...it is TOO FAST. It would be so much better with like...a 3.00 speed (of course it would probably be overpowered then) but now i find myself using doomsaw and barbarous blade over this, the only time i use this is if Im dpsing in an instance because of the proc....I wonder if i would get a Nexus Crystal from disenchanting it (i can hardly bare to say it)XD

Won this in a guild run, they won't keep razzing me about it, hehehe- they make me use it on the first half of UBRS because of the easy mobs.

The different procs:

Flamestrike (90-150 fire damage)- breaks sheeps/shackles/saps
AOE Mana and Health Over time (50 every 5 sec for 20 seconds) *stackable*
+50 to all attributes for 20 seconds *stackable, mwuahahahaha*
AOE +25% attack speed for 8 seconds *stackable* - had +50% speed at one point
AOE slows enemy movement speed to 50% for 8 seconds
AOE Stun for ALL enemies for 5 seconds

i just got this weapon from drakkisath on stormscale

im a warrior and i think it rock while beeing dps warrior on raids and also while team questing for something.

in battlegrounds it will be even more fun when the area slow / stun / hp-mp regen / haste or whatever ticks in.. hehe i will laugh when the enemys goes ?

dropped for my group tonight. rolled and won! This was my 2nd epic from UBRS this week! I got Jeweled Amulet of Cainwyn(Jeweled Amulet of Cainwyn 2 nights ago!

Dropped for me at 6:30 PM, August 27th on the Burning Blade server. Just helping a guild run get attuned for Onyxia and this dropped at the very end. The other warrior, and a hunter rolled, and i won! =] We tried her out and the spirit appeared and healed me back to full health, and i think the rest of the raid. Looks awesome as well. Im sending in a pic now.

I would just like to say that execute very obviously depends on the weapon you are using if you have ever actually used it before. The final rank of execute says that it is supposed to do 600 damage plus 9 additional damage per rage point you have... The fact is, this total bull****. There are many times when execute does not do 600 damage. My highest crit with execute with a 2h weapon is also about a 1500 damage higher than my highest crit with a 1h weapon. If you are using a level 60 epic 2h weapon, you are going to be doing an insane amount more damage with execute than you are if you're using a level 60 superior 1h weapon. just my thoughts

I got mine a long time ago. &*!@ing awesome weapon. The proc is godly.

It can give you:

+50 Stats
Flurry (I believe this one is a group buff)
50 hp5 and 50mp5

It also can debuff other people.

Flamestrike
Slow
3-5 Second Stun (somewhere in there)

I got this 2 weeks ago off The General in UBRS. I farm UBRS each day with are guild C.O.T. Crusaders of Terena and I am on the Terenas server. I find the sword is nice when it proc's but with low damage and my Arcanite Champion is better. I find it more for show than any thing else. When it does proc with 1 of 6 different choices a small kind of Luci appears when it does go off. More for show for me. I am Ret build pally ... I rolled last and got 98..

Got this on daggerspine some days ago, i was the only needer 0o, i dont even use the sword except against rogues in pvp (fury specc).

btw, it has awesome cool procs... a little trancparent sulfuron appears at your side casting a spell, this is the diffrent procs that can appear:

5 sec stun to all enemies around you/ +50 to all stats to your entire party for 20 sec / 150 aoe fire dmg / slowing enemies around you with 50% / increases partys attack speed by 25% / Heals your party for 50 mana & 50 health every 5 sec for 30 sec.

quite awesome stunned 6 allies in AV once ;)

as this weapon has such a powerful chance on hit but a low attack speed it is good for hunters as the Wing Clip ability still has a tiny cooldown meaning special comes out a lot more than for pallys and warriors

This dropped for my UBRS group tonight and a paladin was asking if he could need it because no one else did, but there was no immediate response and instead of going ahead he just kept asking until the timer ran out and a friggen druid got it. Such a waste. :(

When you ask best weapon, you'd have to state, what for.

For an MS warrior solo: Arcanite Reaper/Hammer of the Titans
For a defensive warrior or paladin solo: Blade of Hanna
For a group 2-hander: This

well I still have the sword, but as a MS warrior i rarely use it anymore, just for show ups

it is a spetacular fury warrior weapon though, too bad fury warriors are just plain "meh"

Just had this drop on Khaz'Goroth. Was tagging along with a guild run (not my guild) and we were using druid tanks, who did a great job btw.

As such there were only Druids, Priests, Mages, Locks and 1 Hunter...me. I would never roll on this sword as a hunter, but the alternative was sharding it.

I use it in PvP as it does high damage for a single hit and the Procs are more novelty of having a mini-lucifron appear next to you than anything else.

According to the 1.10 test realm patch notes, Runeblade of Baron Rivendare, Headmasters Charge, Ironfoe, Treant's Blade, Felstriker, Blackblade of Shahram and Mark of the Dragon Lord will recieve a signifigant dropprate increase, in addition, Strat, Scholo will only be 5man able and BRS will only be 10 man able
