the cooldown on the neck is 60minutes, but a good thing is that you don't need to wear the neck to use Lily Root.

Love this thing: a buckload of survivability, excellent for a mage IMO because our mana pool goes up fast whereas our health pool remains low. My own mana pool stands at a touch under 5k while my health pool (without the lifegiver) is roughly 1.5k. Pop this thing on, and the health jumps along with regen, which is great to couple with evocation, and the Lily Root for when the stones (share cooldown) have been used up and the potions aren't available. Worth every gold piece I bought it for (42g).

This is really use full for my Paladin
now u can have 2 fast life givers ( Lay on Hands and Lei of lilies)
just make it everytime when the cooldown is down and u can save ur life many times

The Lily Root isn't reusable and it restores 525-675 mana and health. Just like a rejuv potion.

I bought one for 70g. Must have been drunk. Yes that's a lot of damn pots. The conjured lily itself lasts an hour (same as cooldown so one at a time), and the lily is soulbound, and it's on the pot timer. Pretty much all bad news there. On the upside, it has 15 spirit on top of 10 stamina. 10ish more points than other 46 necklaces, so good attributes for what might be considered a gimmick item.

When I first got this drop I thought, "WTF is this really good for?" However, as a mage I now actually find this item to be quite useful. The stats aren't shabby and It has saved my butt a number of times. It's not something you proc willy-nilly as you would a normal pot. You hold it in reserve for emergencies (hint... 60 minute cooldown). You'll know when the time comes to hit it. I keep it active and available at all times. Having carried it around now for several levels, and having gained an understanding of how to use it wisely, I wouldn't hesitate to pay in the neighborhood of 50g for it if I didn't already have one. If I ever make a priest or warlock alt this will be a priority twink item for him.

I find it useful in those situations where you need just a little bit of mana or health for. It might not be useful if you have a huge mana pool, but it's useful for me and I'm a hunter.

And you don't even need to have the necklace equipped to use the conjured item. Just put the necklace on, wait the 30 seconds, conjure it, then de-equip it. Then you have a conjured lilly for an hour.

This necklace dropped for me today in BRD, i'm a lvl 54 druid and i find this thing great! i don't know how usefull the lily root is but the stamina and spirit is good for us healers=)

I own this amulet, but since I picked up the DarkMoon amulet I do not wear it, but I still use it!

The root you create lasts for one hour, regardless of if you wear the necklace or not.

The root itself is stronger than a Night Dragon's Breath from Felwood, and you don't have to farm it.

I create the root, quick switch to the other amulet, and also link to the lei itself, so that you can check at a glance how long before you have to generate another one.

It is a real money saver. Bag space is always an issue out there, and most of us only carry Major Health Potions. Sometimes though, at the end of a close fight, you don't want to use a Major, mostly because you know how much you paid for it 1.2-1.6g on my server.

That's when this thing really comes in handy. It's on the same timer as a potion, but different timers than the Dragon's Breath or Whipper Root. You hit this first, get Life and Mana. If you still need more,..THEN you break out Dragon or Whipper.

So you get the best of both worlds. You can wear your super cool amulet, and get the free mini-rejuv from this, one an hour, for the rest of your days.

In my opinion, a solid long term investment.

The patch note for 1.10 or 1.11 stated that timers for potions and other useable items are now independend.

Does any1 know if eating the root still triggers the potion timer? In other words: is the root considered a potion?
If not this thing would come in pretty handy in boss fights since it equals 600 extra mana for free by any means :-P

The conjured lilly and a warlock's healthstone share the 2 mintue cooldown, making this useless for locks. 40g down the drain for me. =(

This is on the same cooldown as mage mana gem. I got this drop off a Northwind Windcaller harpy in northwest feralas.

I also got a Robe of Insight off a Northwind Harpy. Anyway.

Good stats with stam/spirit. The flower is NOT on pot timer. Gives about 80% the mana of mage's gem and I believe 800HP to boot. I'd use mana gem in a pve situation to not waste the lili but in pvp i'd almost always use the flower. Awesome item.

Pretty much one of the best items in game, free mana and health pot that shares no cooldowns with anything. i dont see why people dont like it, its pretty much amazing.

There are so many good qualities of this item. I will list them.

1) When do you ever see a restore 'mana+health' potion or spell? Never. you eat this flower and it restores BOTH! very unique.

2) The ammount of 'mana+health' restored is not specified. It just states "Restores Mana and Health." That is because it takes a percentage of your current health and mana. So, it always will give you a decent heal/restore!

3) When out of combat, you can conjure the flower, then remove the necklace and place another necklace (one with spell damage, or better stats, etc.). And the flower will not dissapear for an entire hour! And is completely usable without equiping the necklace.

4)In your lifetime in WoW, you will spend tons of gold on mana potions, and food. This is yet another way to gain that for free! Even if you bought this item from the AH, even if you spent more than 50g on it, you will probably save way more in the long run, not having to buy potions and food as often.

This item is awesome, that lily root comes in handy and once you have conjured it you can put on another necklace and still have the conjured lily root in your inventory. Once I conjure the lily root I switch the Lei with the Jeweled Amulet of Cainwyn.

Got if off a Felbeast lvl 51, in Blasted Lands. I was killing hyeanas, then the Felbeast was alone there and I killed it. Bingo.

Also on the same day, doing the Blasted Lands quests, I spotted and killed 3 rare mobs: Ravage, Akubar the Seer and Grunter.

I just love my Shaman and everything that happens while playing him :)

Root it conjures gave me 645hp and 4x390 mana, so stats are better than you think. Cooldown time is a bugger and should be something like 15mins, 30mins tops. Could turn this thing to a powerfull item...

Some hunter sicked his pet on the flayer just as my mind blast pulled off, almsot got it taken from me.

Its a nice necklace dont get me wrong, but its 1 hour per root and the roots last 1 hour and it only heals and regenerates u for a measley amount of health and mana

The cooldown on the Lily Root is 1 hour. It summons one single root that restores a small amount of health and mana instantly like a potion. It might save your life one day but 1 hr cooldown is really long so I was disappointed in this item.

I just had this drop off a Skeletal Flayer in the WPL. My first purple in a long time.

As a warlock it's on the same timer as my healthstone or so I've read. So that's a negative. Looks like it's bound for the AH.

The lily root you make is soulbound and it only lasts for an hour, so you can only ever have one... The only thing viable is since the stats aren't too bad for a priest, the lily roots come in handy for a second wind heal...

/edit you can put the necklace on make the root and take it off and still use it thou.

another nearly useless rare item. i wouldnt ever use this. 1hour reuse for 1 potion, and can't even have more then one at a time? if you are lucky enough to ever see this, you should sell it. the money it gives can buy a lifetime supply of better hp/mana potions, and they can be used more then once an hour.(the hp/mana potion on this also quickly becomes outdated. at lvl50, you are looking at access to 900hp potions, and at lvl60, a 500hp potion is just useless, you'll want 1k+ potions) later on you will wish you sold this instead, money off this pay for a peice of lightforge, or dreadmist, or shadowcraft, etc.

but sure enough, there is someone out there dumb enough to pay money for this! cash for people that get this to drop:)

i got it @ euclosed beta in winterspring from the yetis in the eastern cave...

the cooldown is 1 hour and the root gives you 500-600 HP and mana .... but it starts timer for mana and health pots =/ so the root is not realy usefull

I just got it yesterday, and I'd like to add that the level requirement is 46. No clue yet on the cooldown, or how much the Lily Root uses. I'm a rogue, and not about to waste an epic item on myself.

Nice item if it drops - but simply not worth teh AH price. It seems to go for 60 on my server now, even that is too much for this. One hour cooldown and on shared timer - simply not worth the money.

In all honesty, I think this is a great item. I just collected one as a drop, and decided not to sell it seeing how 'unpopular' it seemed to be. Since the stats are nice for my class, shaman, I decided to equip it. I then made space for the root in my bar, and off I went.

Mind you, I'm also an alchemist with somewhat ready access to pots, so I have an ample supply of both mana and healing pots for my level (54).

For general pve play, the root is great. Yes - it's on the same timer as the pots, but! It's benefits are huge. Consider this... for my class mana = health, and other healer classes as well, so when I'm low on health that also means I'm low on mana. Well, this little root is an easy answer to both. The health boost is large enough to afford the time it takes to get a healing wave off as well. With mana to spare! That said, I'm healing for MORE than I would get from a single healing pot. PLUS healing wave has a chance to crit whereas a pot does not.

This little root will allow me to save my pots for "other" emergencies that arise in the hour, if they arise. When all is said and done I expect to see myself using fewer pots and selling the ones I'm saving for a few gold each week. In the long run I stand to collect more gold that way than I could have made at the AH.

If a better stat necklace comes along, I fully intend to keep this necklace hand to pop-off a root each hour to defer my need for potions.

People shoudn't forget that this item isn't all aobut the root but also about the +10 and +15 bonuses, I think it's a nice item, I've seen lvl's 60 with worse necks and this one is for lvl46...is there any better on this lvl?

OK just got this item. Traded for it plus paid 20g, total price was like 60g. Here are some important features. When you euip it has a 30 sec period before you can use. When you use it, it has a 60 minute cooldown. The item you create has a 60 minute timer as well. So you can only have one at a time adn you can only use every 60 minutes. I have not tested yet, but I think it is on the potion timer. It is NOT on healthstone timer. That is the reason I like it, with my healthstone gives me something in an emergency.

Great stuff. Unfortunately the consumable shares cooldown with the mana ruby on my mage, but in many ways, it is better than a mana ruby! an average of 600 HP + 600 mana is better than an average of 1100 mana. It'll help to reduce downtime in raids as an extra mana source, and it'll help in PvP as a better version of a mana ruby.

Warlocks probably don't need this, because healthstone recovers 1440 HP, which is more impressive than this item, considering their access to life tap as well. Other classes have a great use for this! Including even the manaless ones, because usually they don't have access to items which share cooldown with this.

It makes sense to wear the necklace only for conjuring. For mages, the Lily Root replenishes approximately the same amount as Mana Jade (level 38). It could be used as sort of a quick panic/emergency consumable while leveling in the late 40s (as long as the shared cooldowns allow).

As of Apr 2020, regional AH prices on EU servers were in the range of 20-30g.

I've been using this for over a year of Classic now, and I've been advocating its use to anyone who will listen. It's an amazing item for most mana users, although mages and warlocks may want to pass.

When equipped, this item goes through the usual 30-second cooldown before you may use it. When used, it conjures a Lily Root.

The Lily Root is a conjured item, and will vanish if you're logged out for more than fifteen minutes. It also expires after one hour of being logged in. This timer is paused if you log out, meaning that you can have multiple Lily Roots in your inventory if you log out for less than fifteen minutes. Each one takes up a bag slot--They do not stack at all.

The Lily Root restores an average of 600 health and mana when used, and triggers the Healthstone cooldown. This is more than Night Dragon's Breath, which restores an average of 425. In the long run, this may save you many trips to Felwood. It's also a great secondary healthstone on Loatheb, a fight where nobody should be using dark runes.

The Lily Root's expendability might be its greatest asset. Any question of whether it's worth using or saving for later is already answered. It disappears if you let it expire, so just use it without hesitation! When you get ganked, and you think you'll lose the fight, Lily Root is there for you. Use it and fight the odds. When you're slowly burning to death and you're not sure whether consumes will save you or not, Lily Root is still there for you. Action is an excellent defense against uncertainty. When you have a Lily Root, the action is free.
