Great mount. A bit of a status symbol in the game (although, by having it, all it means is that you can make it to the end of Strat and defeat Baron Rivendare). As the other comments say, the droprate is extremely low. Entire guilds have broken up because this mount drops.

A very cool mount, if it ever drops, I'll give you the "OK" to officially freak out. This mount is extremely rare and very much seen as a status symbol as jasoncavett said. It makes a tier3 priest jealous, *looks at a lvl60 dwarf hunter in greens*...grr.

Its a great mount should you be so lucky to see it drop.

From what I've heard, it has the same chance to drop as any BoE Epic at level 60 but only from Baron Rivendare. This rumor seems true, as it is most likely the rarest item in the game.

Deathcharger is a black (per its model skin description) skeletal warhorse mount, notorious for its incredibly low drop rate - perhaps the lowest drop rate of any epic item. The undead PvP mount is red (unlike all other PvP mounts, which are black) in order to differentiate it from this mount. As of 9/6/2008, Wowhead has seen 3 drops out of 7057 kills...

Nope, you have to kill the bosses in the 3 ziggurats, then the waves of abominations, followed by a wave of skellys, then finally Ramstein. All this must be done before the gates will open to the slaughter house where the Baron resides.

This mount is available to any race, class, and faction. There are no special requirements to get this to drop, it can drop in a 45 minute run or in a 6 hour one, no difference. You must also have the 150 riding skill to be able to use it. It is arguably one of the rarest drops in the game currently.

There are rumors that one in the party needs to be exalted to drop. But this is hardly proven, as much as there are rumors that it has dropped without someone exalted in the party.

Nor did the droprate increase exponentially overtime as more people got exalted.

Greetings I am Ultrazord of Tichondrius who was one of the lucky ones to get this mount. Just a little info about the run.

It was right after the mount riding skill change so I did have to pay 900g for training (540 now I believe).

The run was warrior, lock, rogue, druid, mage. Only 1 was higher then revered w/ argent dawn as 3 of them were alts helping people get rep for naxx attunement. Rep does not mean anything

We killed Baron with a lucky execute after 3 people died and trash had repopped with no soul stone up. A wipe would have ruined our chances of this dropping. I doubt this matters though. Note though it was almost a 3 hour run so 45 minutes doesn't mean anything.

I won the roll with a 47 of 100. It was group loot and we just said everyone roll need. It was my 5th run on my warrior, though I had done it before on other toons.

Great mount to sit in Shattrah or IF. Even this late in the expansion I still get a few tells a day about it. If you're bored, try farming it, but don't hold your breath.

You can stealth run it, It took me a while but I did it because of that huge undead zerg after ramstein, but basically I stealthed to all 3 bosses, killed them, stealth to the gate, killed the aboms, ramstein, undead zerg with stratholme holy water, then the final 5 elite skelly pull. Went into his room, being a rogue mind you, evasioned, and started beating him down, when skellies spawned, AR and BF so he doesnt consume them for HP, and if you don't kill him by the second skelly zerg, use stratholme holy water yet again, volia~ !

IMO, this takes a while, it may be worth it to some, but others it may not. The run probably took me around 30 mins to do solo.

My gear is on par around Hyjal - BT, so that may be why, but other rogues I've spoken to that have done it, need to health pot and such.

Edit - Takes me 20 minutes now, also an easier strat - after ramstein pops out, run into the slaughterhouse and kill him in there. As he dies, run down around Baron's door and stealth and eat. As those 5 skelles pop, start attacking them. You wont have to deal with the undead zerg, keeping in mind their aggro range is gigantic. I got my mount after the 14th run finally, very lucky =]

i have been farming baron as a rogue for a couple of weeks now. a perfect run can be as fast as 15min, on average it takes me 20min. the large brilliant shards and greater eternal essences are very popular and people pay big gold for those on the auction house so even if one doesn't get luck with the mount disenchanting the lvl60 items yields high incomes :) you can find an uncut video of a typical 18min baron run here:

Quite simply, this is one of the rarest items in the entire game. That includes legendary loot droprates. Do not be surprised if you never even see this item in your entire WoW career.

Even with its farmable status amongst the new level 70 playerbase, it has only become more rare because of the lack of knowledge of pre-BC instances.

I have done a total of 31 side door runs to baron for my beast pants which still hasn't dropped but the deathcharger dropped once. The other epic blade has never dropped yet for me.

Very easy as a feral druid.
Soloing up to Baron is easy as pie.
Kill the 3 bosses and all their caster people.
then you can easy take the abominations down 1 by 1.
And then barkskin hurricane the little skelleys down. They will all be dead by the final tick.
Baron is a bit more tough.
The trick is to stay in bear form.
Keep up dps as much as you can and when the skelleys come out swipe will one shot them if it crits.
When low on life just use frenzied regeneration, or pop out for a barkskin regrowth/rejuv
it will take about 8 or so waves of skelleys but ive never died!
I will get his mount!!

My skeleton zerg tactic as Hunter is - Frost Trap in front of gate before engaging Ramstein, nuking him down, misdirection on Pet, Volley on the mobs, sending Pet to attack a random skeleton (with Defensive on), run in Explosive Trap and Holy Water, basically all die.

I put on 2x Tier 5 for the set bonus, keeps Pet up combined with Mend Pet no problem.

I got sword around 30 runs, have cut back to only 1 a day or so, i got abit obsessed with running it.

Fairly easy to solo on my druid. I have a mix of Kara, badge, and ssc loot (spyglass, staff).

I can do the run in an about 20 minutes without killing a single unnecessary mob.

Baron himself is easy, just beat him up, keep lacerate up, and swipe when the adds pop up to down them before he heals.

Run about 10 times in the past couple days, and I only die when I get careless and impatient moving around in the crowded areas instead of waiting for the gargoyles to path away.

Also, Eye of Naxxramas will really give you problems if you get spotted in a crowd.

barkskin + hurricane works wonders on the rat trap, and the undead zerg after rammstein.

According to The Armory (Blizzards own site: http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=13335), Deathcharger's Reins has a 1-2% chance to drop. I guess it can be somewhat inaccurate, but considering the numbers are officially Blizzards own, I guess one could count with a drop rate around those numbers.

not even the barons sword. but we did had 'Flameskull shield' and 'Dwarvenhand cannon' BoE Epix.

Extremely rare... but we dropped the runeblade on our 2nd run when we were bored (Spriest,Priest,Lock - lol nobody could use it), so... everything is possible.
Farming it on a lock is quite easy, just takes more time than classes than can stealth through. You can do it on almost any spec, but Ramstein and Baron can prove being difficult. Best result I got is Felguard SL/SL spec with double T5 bonus, which basically allows you to cruise through the instance, killing everything in comfort. At 1400 shadow dmg, felguard crits up to 1k and rarely looses aggro. Clear only the spiders and banshees on the way + gargoyles. Bosses are joke... well-timed Seed of Corruption on Baron and all is fine. Each run is about 40-50g in BoP blues and stuff + BoE that still sell pretty well on AH - one in one it is not wasting time while trying for the mount

Ive managed to solo Strat with my Shockadin buffed with 830 spell dmg. Its not so bad, ive done the 45 min runs atleast 4 time successfully. The Necros with the life/mana drain kills me however, ive managed not to die on them anymore. Im currently at my 30th run, and hope to see the mount soon. Its a killer cause its taking me roughly 35 to 40 mins to clear. I need to get my gear upgraded and enchanted to do these runs i faster i think. Oh well good luck, hope someone else gets the mount soon, if not me XD.

One may consider farming this item since it's one of the most unique items in game and in my opinion "The rarest".
So far, I have in my own record "307" solo runs since June 2007, I'm a tauren so this mount is worth it for me to get to show off with. But It's not the only reason I've been making all the trouble farming it. As an enchanter, this is a good source of Brilliant Shards that are needed for Oils and old school enchants, so far from Strath alone (using CTRA cash history and Historian) I managed to get what's equal to 170'000g from that place alone in 8 months.

1 run = 8-10 shards, 0-3 Greater Eternal essences, 0-7 Illusion dusts, 0-1 random BoE's (including Orb of Deception and epic BoE's), Healing and mana potions for level 35 (stock your levelling alts with potions :D) 1-3 stacks of Runecloth and chance to the rarest mount in whole game with no arguments.
Time for it for average feral druid: 30mins

If I'm not lucky enough to get it to drop before WotLK, I think I'll switch to farming Swift White Hawkstrider.

Dropped on a random first run (after many months of never stepping foot in Strat) for a guildy because they were "bored".

We have another guildy that has run it multiple times after raid every night for almost 6 months with nothing but a pile of level 60 blues to show for it.

162 runs on my feral druid and finally got it today. Was doing about 10 runs a day. Doing 20 minute stealth runs.

Was bored so decided to farm for it. Made close to 20k gold selling enchanting mats from the runs.

Annoyingly I got my Amani War Bear last night, and my desire to run Stratholme has pretty much depleted, after 300+ runs, I feel it's pretty much time to give up, even if the gold frm enchanting is very high. Personally, I think the drop rate is abit too low, feels like it was something that should of been buffed in the past, I've honestly never seen this on my server or in xrealm battlegrounds and i've played since the game was released. I saw it once on PTR, and ganked the guy out of frustration.

please correct me if im wrong but besides the spectral tiger which comes from the card game this is one of 2 of the only "realy" rare ground mounts in the game... that and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32768 (Reins of the Raven Lord) because the ZG mounts can be farmed in 1 days time the amani bear mount is owned by every person in a BT guild usualy.. i know im forgeting some please post them, feel free to downrate this comment after question has been answered

Took me 287 runs from the time I started counting, but I finally did it. It dropped Saturday April 19th 2008. Second Draenei I know of that has it (the first being a few posters above me). Good luck to everybody still doing it! Don't give up hope and stay inspired.

Still farming this, done over 300 but stopped counting tbh. Been asking myself for ages now "Why am i still doing this, it won't drop", i'd of stopped if the gold wasn't so good, on my server Greater Eternal Essence is making 20g+, my luckiest run yielded my 9 Essences, so that's a ridiculous ammount fo gold for what takes me 20 minutes on my Hunter.

I'll keep at it, but I don't expect it to drop, it is really just pure luck.

OK, I have a really stupid n00b question to ask. How the HELL can you solo this as a lvl 70?

I thought it would be amusing to have. Now, I've never done Stratholme. Quick look on here to see the location of the mob I want and hey ho off I go.

I go in through the only entrance I can find (what appears to be the 'main' entrance). And it all then goes pear shaped. Either in Stealth mode or unstealthed, I can't get past the first groups of mobs without getting splattered. Now, my gear isn't good (greens & blues, no epics yet), so is it possible to get through to the Baron to try and get this mount? (Forget the Piccolo now).

Or do I need to go away get some decent gear and/or some help?

Got it about an hour ago on Grim Batol (EU) as a dwarf hunter. 4. May 2008, got it on my 25. run after I actually startet looking for it, but counting pre-TBC runs I've done Baron about 200 times (was looking for the Beaststalker's Leggings, never saw them drop in more than 170 runs pre-TBC).

Just got it on my solo first attempt as a feral druid (tank gear earthwarden heavy clefthoof etc).

My faction was friendly so rep doesnt have anything to do with it droppping.

I did do it in the 45min just but i doubt that had anything to do with it dropping it's just a ramdom drop.

Easy fight swipe swipe swipe like crazy to get skels down fast
didnt need to pop out to heal just used frenzied rejuv.

To anyone still trying dont give up the chance it still there :)

Dropped on my 48 run from when i started grinding for it. pretty lucky as i know one on my server had roughly 570 runs before he managed to get it.
Got the runeblade 1 time as well during the grind.. all in all its extremely rare, but if ur in luck u might get it somewhat faster than the drop rates suggest.

Great money from clearing this, I got 9 Large Brilliant Shards per run, which ends up being about 100g alone with our economy, not to mention disenchanting the greens and selling the grays. So even if you don't get it to drop, just think of all the money you're making :D

Lost track around the 30th run, but it's now at least at 80 runs (and counting), usually around 25 min per run, with the best at just a little more than 20 min. I guess that if I optimized dps with potions, elixirs, foodbuff and whatnot, I would be able to cut at least 3-4 min off that 20 min. I'm a frostmage specced 10/0/51, and in a mix of merciless/vengeful + the spellhaste trinket from bwl (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19339). That trinket together with the Icy Veins-talent, makes frostbolts a 1.72 sec uninterrtuptible cast for 20 sec, great for exactly the fight against Baron Rivendare.

...I think I'm developing an obsession :<

it took me about 200 easy runs with my rogue, 15-20 minutes hemospecced per run.
as a warlock it's just pain... 40-50 minutes per run, considering mobspawn waypoints and moblevels...
sl felguard was the specc that gave me that mount the seccond time on the same account and also the same server.

After deciding I needed to make some gold I thought farming Stratholme for the Deathcharger Reins would be a fun way to make money. After about 40 or so runs over the span of 2-3 weeks I made around 3k-4k gold easily from DEing everything and looting all the silver off mobs. I started to lose interest in farming for the mount and just used Stratholme as a way to make gold considering Large Brilliants and Greater Eternals sell for a hefty price on the AH. Randomly this morning I decided to do a couple runs and on my 3rd run the mount dropped. Nobody in my guild believed me at first until they saw me in IF lol!

Many ppl that solo this are bt/hyjal geared (or i think so). This could BE soloable with a rogue s1 geared. (Tho the 1st time i got there i was killed many times) But in my 2nd try i just died at baron =/ The only reason that s1 rogues solo this is that they have much hp. (i have 10k hp) Anyway,it was a bit hard,took me many mins (around 35 min)

I'm very proud to say I got this mount ;-)
Its imba just so many people that ask where it's from cause they never saw a dwarf hunter on an Undead mount before ;-)
In the beginning i told them how to get it SOOOO many others tried to farm it but as far as i know non got the mount yet! On sunstrider (my server) there are as far as i know 3other alliance people that have the mount i even used to be in a guild where we had 2mounts (me and another)
After a long long time of getting asked where its from i got so sick of it though that i started to tell people i killed the hourse vendor for the Undead and when he was down i looted him and got that horse ;-)
I have it for about 1year now i'll post a picture of it when i figure out how to ;-)

as far as my tactic i just kill the mobs that are in my way i do it in 40minutes 0whipes

After 230 runs my Deathchargers Drops ! I'm really happy this night. I have to say thanks to this thread because many of those posts gave me power to don't give up. That was the phrase that was in my mind all the time: "dont' give up". Also have to say a thanks to my DE partner Heiler who did a lot of runs with me, including the one where it drops. I gave to him as a gift one of the orb of deceptions that i got in Strat.

Class: Undead Rogue (T6 geared)
Average Time: 20-23 min per run
Record Time: Me, Heiler and a hunter: 13 min
Gold: Around 15-20k (3 epics, 2 orbs of deception, tons of boe blues and DE stuff)

For those that will say that im an Undead and would be easier to buy a plain skelly horse i dont care. This is THE UNDEAD MOUNT and i dream with it since my first day in wow.

Today i make a GM ticket about this mount (coz i killed Baron around 50 times and nothing) and the GM say:

"This item does exist yes, the drop rate is very low however, in fact recently a guildie of mine got it , atfer 431 kills"

About the rumor "You must be exalted with argent dawn to have it" he say:

"No that is just a rumor,not true in any way."

So i need to be very patient and maybe min 350 kills to have my favorite mount in game or just make UD rogue and get racial mount

After 1141 runs I finally got it, along with one Runeblade, 6 Pristine Black Diamonds, and countless blues and greens that have been disenchanted and sold.

Oddly enough, it drops the very day I finish upgrading from Lightforge to full Soulforge, figuring that if I ever DID get the mount, I had better have some Death Knight-ish armor.

It'd be a LOT smarter to farm AFTER Wrath and you hit level 80, it'd be so much easier. That is why I'm not even attempting until atleast 75.

you dont really need the fire elemental for the skelletons after rammstein, you can also use the earth elemental with magma totem and fire nova (and if you do it right, the earth elemental will also tank the black guard), that way you can use the fire elemental against the baron and it will be a lot faster

While I don't have my epic mount yet, I'll be getting one soon. Even if I did have it I would roll.

Sure I might not "need" it as much as someone who hasn't. But why should I miss out on this if I spent 800+g of my own money getting my mount? If someone without a mount loses a roll against someone who does, how is it any different? They're going to have to pay for their mount like everyone else which they would have done anyway.

Besides, I'd probably offer 3000g to the roll winner to pass it to me instead if it dropped on a run I was on.

If you're going to be giving it to the person with the greatest need, do you do this for all drops? If two players want a drop... for example, a 50dps weapon that is an upgrade for them. One player currently has a 40dps weapon, and the other has a 45dps weapon. Are you going to automatically give it to the person who needs the upgrade more?

This mount may be the same speed as other epics, but I consider it an upgrade. This item doesn't effect a character, it doesn't make you better, doesn't make you stronger. So why should I pass so someone else can get it?

I was just having a discussion about this recently My opinion is that, if someone wants an epic mount they can get 900g with solo play. If an epic is not important to them, or if they're too lazy to farm the gold, why should they get a higher priority than someone that isn't too lazy?

It has the same stats as any epic, but it is not the same. If it were possible, it would sell for > 900g, which indicates it's not even close to the same as a standard epic. I could see someone actually deleting their own epic just to roll on this as an upgrade.

It seems to me that claiming only upgrades can roll is protecting the lazy and undeserving. Everyone should be able to roll.

3) It's a random drop. R-A-N-D-O-M.
4) I got this mount in March 2005 in a *pickup* group on Proudmoore. I was later among the people who volunteered to be transferred by Blizzard to Dragonblight because Proudmoore was a fustercluck of lag. I am there now and so is my Deathcharger. :)
5) This mount dropped off the Baron. In my group: Undeadfish rolled a 95 (still hear about this every now and then). I rolled a 98. The master looter did not ninja - unfortunately I cannot remember his name...class act.
6) This mount is no faster than a regular epic mount.
7) You *cannot* attack from this mount.
8) The most common comments I receive? "That poor horse." "You're going to kill it." "It looks hungry." "Where'd you get that?"
9) I ride my non-epic mount 90% of the time so I can simply play the game in peace. Cry for me. Haha. Some day I'll have to try out that whole "buying an epic mount" thing.

EDIT: Even though, at the time, all of us who rolled on it (read: everyone present) did not have epic mounts, I still believe that this is an item of such caliber that it should be rolled on EVERY TIME by EVERYBODY who has a chance - whether they have an epic or not. This nonsense that somebody who already busted their hump to by a "regular" epic should opt out is bull.

EDIT2: Making it clear that I transferred chars from one server to another...did not leave one server and start fresh on another.

We just got this tonight on the Azjol-Nerub server doing a 10-man guild run. The first one on this server.

To put to bed other rumors- not a one of us was Exalted with AD (the highest was Revered). ALso as I stated we did it with a 10-man (mixed levels from 51 through 60.)"

I would love some factual information about the rumored drop rate increase when party members are Exaulted. If someone could post a link that would be great.

Part 2 from Raygar

Ok continuing my last post about farming for the mount its time for the next part. Keep in mind this was written by me and my methods with my gear ( Level 70 beast master hunter with all epics.

Once you slip your way to the Baroness, it should be cake. This is by far one of the easiest bosses to solo, provided your gear is good.

Baroness Anastari :

1. Uses shadow attacks at range and curses you.
2. Sometimes depending on how you assault her will get the stupid hair and run into the street and agro the crap on the side.
3. CC doesnt work to my knowledge, however Freezing Trap from hunters DOES work as I accidentally found out one day.
4. If you use ANY other form of help except yourself ( friends helping, minions, pets, trinket summon adds) Theres a chance someone will get mind controlled. This prolongs the fight and sometimes ends up bad. You get Mind controlled for 2 mins unless your partner beats you down which is hard if you already have them outgeared. You get 100% increased damage to. So soloing this boss means no pet or anything else. I even once got Mind controlled from using a snake trap.

What to do :

If you are a hunter or caster get to your minimum range ( hunters ) and casters stay out of melee range and blast away. If you start losing too much health time a bandage between her casts. Theres a good chance you will resist the spell anyway due to your level.

After you drop her go in and clear out the Ziggaraut and proceed to the next part of the instance.

Now down the street onto Maleki the Palid is a tricky route. What I did was as you face down the street towards the next boss, hug the wall on the right until your shoulder scrapes it. You will be dangerously close to the 3 ghouls. Keep in mind Gargoyles are still patting up and down the street.

Its hard at first but as a 70 you can do it. Sometimes you will accidentally pull. For rogues and hunters just vanish or feign death out if you pull. Any other class will have to fight. If you want to be on the safe side kill these mobs before proceeding. I never had to cause of class ability.
Note invisible potions and stealth are not a good idea here unless you have Master of Deception for rogues. The ghouls see invisible and stealthed things.

Down the alley way of the street here there is a safe nook a 70 can stand in and watch for pats. Use this wisely. Its a good break spot especially if you had to fight the mobs a moment ago. Once you are ready to go take the ghoul on the right ( the single one ) and take him out. Make sure you zerg it quickly or pull it to the side of wall where he originally starts in case a pat comes by.

Rockwing Gargoyles are melee attackers
Rockwing Screechers are casters that will FEAR you.

Once you dispatch the single ghoul make your to the Maleki the Palid.

Part 4

Hey once again this is Raygar from Eredar contiuing my formula for farming the mount.

Once you get here its actually quite easy provided your gear is good and you dont pull too many fat boys.

The Gauntlet :

Most 70s except prot specced players should be able to zerg these down pretty quickly. For prot fight all mobs in a zone of your choice , I would pick the back of the gate once it closes.

This event starts when you pull the first Abomination. The gate behind you closes and its a Gauntlet. Abominations will continue to file in until all dead. Once you thin their numbers down a few remain in the courtyard to the barons room.

Theres two types of Abominations here.

1 is a darker color and spits poison and sometimes hits you with slowing poison the other type spits out lil slime adds and when it dies releases 5 slime adds. Dont underestimate the slimes they actually can hurt if you dont take em out quick enough.

Casters MAY have mana problems if the pace gets too high so be sure to drink after every 1 or 2 fights.

After you defeat all the abominations the boss of them , Rammstein comes out.

Rammstein the Gorger :

1. Hits very hard for his level
2. Can be stunned but not incapacitated or slowed
3. Has a knock back ability

After words the far gate on the side wall opens and a horde of easy to kill mobs come out. Keep in mind they dont hit hard and have alot of hp but theres ALOT of them.

Whatever aoe ability your class has here its time to break it out. In my case I used exploding trap and the various crates of holy water lying around the courtyard. Safe boxes are marked with a Red Cross. Others are sometimes safe but i didnt bother with them. Collect the water from the 3 red cross boxes in the instance should be enough. You can choose to loot the boxes before or after the hordes of mobs that rush out.

After this and at a certain time the Barons Black Guard come out. These are 5 elite skeletal warriors. Not too hard to kill at 70 but hit a lil hard compared to their level too. Warriors and paladins and druids might fall asleep when they are tankin em.

I used frost traps and snake traps here.

Finally the moment you all been waiting for is next. Ill keep you posted!

First of all Grats to all people that have recently gotten this drop, and to the nice guy Thetrain from Epic above. Yes niceness does payoff and hes lucky to have a guild that would PASS on this.

Part 5 : Baron Rivendare

As of this post I havnt ran baron since 2.3 came out but I am gonna try it. I respeced aim shot for pvp and lost a lil bit in my survival tree. Most Noteably the Clever Traps talent so I dont know how effective my traps are until I get back in there :P.

As you enter make sure you have pets on PASSIVE or else the shadow damage you take from entering barons room will cause your pet to attack and you may not be ready for the fight.

Make your way into the barons room and head to the left ( or right, most go left ) to the pile of bones in the back of the room. If you are takin ticks of shadow damage you are too close to the baron. This is prefight.

Engage : I dont know what a mage can do here to be honest. They probably have the most challenge as they have to do the dance games.

Melee of course will be on him takin shadow damage as well.

For me I pre set an explosive trap just to the left of the baron. Waited for trap to cool down then engaged.

Misdirected the pet , hit my AP trinket and hit Bestial Wrath. Once pet engaged melee on the baron I opened fire with all cool downs.

The first wave of skeletons that come head for the pet and hit the exploding trap which naturally brought them right to me into ANOTHER exploding trap which took em out.

Every few seconds I used mend pet. The next wave of skeletons that come usually spawn and run right at me now and I throw holy water on em.

Baron is pretty low hp at this time and mostly I took him down. Should a third wave or so come out I would alternate with holy water and exploding trap.

Baron Rivendare :

1. Does decent damage for his level.
2. Has an unholy aura that AOE damages with shadow damage.
3. Summons adds which fight for him and attack you / pet until he casts Death Pact on them which gives him life back for each skeleton sacked depending on its remaining health
4. Throws 1k+ Shadow Bolts
5. Hits pet / you with Mortal Strike

The biggest trick to this boss is gettin the skeletons down ASAP.

Good luck to all farming for it and keep trying!

Post Note : Im actually gonna go back in and farm the place some more for the Epic 2 Handed Sword :P just to have it.

So i go to farm the baron sword since I got the mount and in an incredible stroke of luck i got the Baron Mount AGAIN! LOL Merry Christmas.

So I've started up again
and on run 336
the one that I just finished...
The runeblade dropped.
When I saw it, I was like, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN
AND WHY CAN'T I RIDE YOU
I want to just stick it up the WAH and just swing it at people
in my frusteration.
I'm a druid.
We can use daggers for some reason, but not swords.
I mean, what, would we pick up a sword and have it burn us?
Are Swords the Cat nip of druids?
Damn it.

Also, to all you asses who keep saying "the droprate is low, it'll never drop," WE GET IT. We're not doing this because we think it'll drop every time. We're gambling our time, we're playing the shots, So EFF you asses who are negative to us people who partake in the gambling of the Baron.

I can't wait for the day to link my mount in guild, link it to the haters, the disbelievers, and my guild. At this point, it is no longer a mount, but a badge.
A badge of insanity.

By the way, it still drops, I message a GM.
The Argent Dawn doesn't effect it.
It's random.
The Droprate is low.
You need decent gear to solo this.
There's no way you can trick the loot system.
Pick up enchanting if you're gonna do the full monty. Don't be like "OH BUT I'VE WORKED SO HARD LEVELING UP THIS PROFFESION"
I did the math. In the runs I did BEFORE I did enchanting, I lost out on roughly 10k gold. If I had done enchanting, I'd be that much richer. And you can be even richer depending on the server. So, stop being an ass, and power level Enchanting to 225. How sweet will it be to re-level, say, mining, but this time on the RAREST item in the game.
And finally, DO NOT GIVE UP. Do not give in to the negative comments, because if you do this, you will be slammed with ONLY that. I'm not saying you will get the mount, but just don't give up.

There's a level of insanity you go through though.

From 70-90, you want to stop. You hate the game, you hate your life, you want to jump off a bridge and ride a pegasus in the after life.

From run 190-199 You're depressed and sad.

Run 200-220, each run is tense (If you've followed the legacy of the fine Baron Raygar)

Run 280-300, you're in shock that you're still doing it.

Somewhere along that line of runs, something clicks. Once you learn the instance, all the tricks of the trade, you find yourself really enjoying running it. Like, during my break period, I was just running around on the Orgrimmar bank, wasting time. What I could have been doing in that time is making a bunch of money, shooting towards the mount, and listening to say, a radio show.

Speaking of which, MAKE A PLAYLIST OF THE SONGS YOU LIKE.
This will be one of the LIFEBLOODS of you running this instance.
For about 200 runs I did catchy music.
For the next 50, I found some catchy rap.
Then, for the next 50 or more, I've been listening to the Opie and Anthony show.
And it just increases the experience of running this instance by that much.

I know my post is long, but it's been needed to be said. I hope all of you get this mount, because you've all worked for it.
But not the ninja's.
I hope you die alone and screaming.

The only sword I've gotten was on run 336.
I'm thinking/praying/hoping/pleading it drops on run 672, 336 runs after getting the sword.

Oh, let me tell you people something.
Never, ever think the horse will drop "this run."
Don't think it'll drop "the next run."
Don't say "I'm feeling it tonight."
Don't predict it'll drop before 300, or 600 runs.
It won't.
Ignore all superstitions. They only crush your hope more.
Just keep running it until you get it.
Because then, and only then, can you admit that the little bunny foot that somehow found it's way up your ass was the cause of the mount to drop.

Guildie got one a few days ago. I'm pretty sure it's the first one on Blackhand. Other than that one time he doesn't want to drop anything but warrior and hunter leggings.

Don't ever expect to get one. I'd say the chances are somewhere in the area of 1 in 5000. Then of course you need to outroll the rest of the raid.

u can be sure that if u have 5 ALL res enchant on shoulder - this mount is yours for first time drop.
all others just ninjas

btw all those %% just a fake cuz all groups/raids in strat killing baron doesn't have any exalted member usualy.
so real % is never known.

at one 1.8.0 server i used that mount and wasn't silenced (could cast spells)
and use a raptor together got 3x speed of normal ^^

I just started the grind for the mount on April 22nd, 2008. So far...

50 runs resulting in...

85 Greater Eternal Essence
240 Illusion Dust
2 Large Brilliant Shards (from greens...I'm not an enchanter)
35 BOE Blues

...no mount or sword.

Okay, you do NOT need Exhalted with Argent Dawn, you do NOT need to be in a 5 man, you do NOT need anything special apart from the skill in your group/raid to kill Baron and be lucky enough for this to drop at RANDOM.

It dropped yesterday and we gave it to our resident mage, as she was the only one without an epic mount. She's very happy now and we're all glad that we have a guild full of epic mounters now.

I've read multiple arguments. People keep saying you must reach exalted with AD. But the fact that it has never dropped, alliance or horde in the tens of thousands of raids on my server leads me to believe that you must be exalted for it to drop, otherwise surely it would have dropped by now. Look at it this way,Skullflame Shield a 0.01 droprate, yet still hundreds of people have them. I think there is more than luck to this mount

The rarest, most sought after mount in the game. It still drops, its just as ridiculously rare as ever. I'd kill for one. ;(

It does not differ from the standard UD epic mounts in any way besides color.

Seems to me like only 3 classes can solo a strat ud run. Paladins, hunters,and druids. No luck for us other classes. Were probably going to have to wait to be lvl 80 and everyone will be farming old 60 instances. Screw being a deathknight and walking in snow. This is more worthwhile to me, well not really.

Well it finally happened! Just got it March 3rd, 2008 around 8:00PM CST.

It dropped on the 289th run.

I made around 15,000 gold from selling disenchanted greens & blues.

Started at it on January 13th as noted in my first post. So Jan 13th-March 3rd. Ouch =P Just realizing how long it took, lol.

Did at least 1 run per day, but closer to 5-10.

Not much more to say than don't give up if you really want it.

OK Heres just to summarize the crap I've read about all this:
1.) VERY Rare DROP
2.) DROP not QUEST
3.) 100% Increased Speed
4.) LOOKS LIKE BUT NOT IDENTICLE to undead epic mount. Blue instead of Green.
5.) Tauren CAN'T ride this.
6.) Don't even bother TRYING to farm this guy unless you have a good raid backing you up. He CAN and WILL kick your ass something fierce.
7.) Don't let this get your hopes up, chances are, you won't see this.

Can any1 actually verify that this item has dropped anytime at all during the last 3-4 months?
Imagine how many Baron kills each server actually have per day on both factions.
The last time some1 got this in EU Bladefist was probably 7 months ago and it was also the only time.
My theory after seeing that my exalted is worthless is that this mount cannot drop at all anymore.
Else it's real droprate is around 1/500000.
Remember that the mount is ranked as superior quality and raptor mount is more ussual and is epic quality.
blade of baron rivendare is far more common and epic quality.

People are forgetting things when comparing world drops with this mount:
First, the world drops have lower drop chance according to this site since it drops from EVERYWHERE.

Baron Riverdares mount on other hand, only drops by himself.

This should be logical enough for people to understand. :)

This beauty dropped on Silvermoon on January 14th, 2006. Just look for a warlock on the alliance side parading around if you have doubts it's still in the game.

The mount was dropped in a 10 man raid, and while I believe that someone had exalted I haven't bothered to check.

Or.. I could stealth trough to Baron and just Pwn his ass on Public servers. With my 60 Undead Rogue. I have killed him that many times I've managed to gather up 6 on Public. But It's boring me now. Blackwing Lair is more fun. I have 50/50 Chance on getting defeated there.

Well actually my journey began about a week ago =)

My rogue with only S1 gladiator gear + S1 weapons + vindicators gear + fully enchanted. I've started my farm for the mount and will continue to farm for it until I get it! Which may be tomorrow or never. But I believe WOW is about persistence and keeping at it.

I'm up to around 50 kills now. I try to do it at least 10 times a day.

Just 2 weeks ago someone else on my server farmed the 2nd one ever to drop on our server.

The fight is about practice also. The more times you do the solo Baron run the easier it becomes. Capping the EPL tower helps a LOT.

I'll keep this updated if it every drops for me.

You are right it doesn't matter how many times you run it. But from my research most people get it before their 450th run. You are right though- you could get it your first run or 1000th.

The main thing is sticking with it. If you quit you will NEVER get it.

When I was on around run 250 I started the doubt. Started to think I could go spend my time farming honor or arena points or something else. Personally I thought I wouldn't get it before WOTLK. Then just 39 runs later it dropped for me.

Stick with it. Do things to motivate yourself. Everytime I was waiting on my cooldowns staring at Baron. I would imagine myself on that mount and how badass it was going to be.

Does it matter that the drop rate is low? I mean, I've been going to Scholo to get my Dreadmist done -_- Over three or four runs still no drops. I'd rather farm this horse now with the guild raid then try to get my dreadmist done. It does drop (Duh), you DONT have to be exalted with AD (It WONT increase ur chance on finding it also, seeing as you can get this mount when ur 'hated' with AD)

So why doesnt it drop for you? It is a FREE epic mount and different then those whom Alliance can ride, it's obvious why blizz made the drop chance so low...5 or 10 man, doesnt make a difference but if it makes you any happier...Strat will soon be a 5 man instance (ver 1.10)

So basicly the faction rep with AD/group size/etc. to get and/or increase the drop chance is false

Just an FYI, coming from a level 60 who has his Dreadsteed(lock epic mount)...

I have been in a few parties in Strat, and every now and then someone brings up the 'What If' Scenario... if the Baron drops his mount... blah blah

Basically people who did not have their Epic Mount thought it was only right they those with an epic mount should pass on it.. >.<

First of all, as a Warlock, I have worked harder to get my mount then most people. Hell anyone could just buy 800g off the internet and get their epic mount within minutes, I spent a fackload of time getting mine, and I did a very time consuming and expensive(spent close to 400-500g) 12 Chain Quest... when you lazy people get off your butts and put that kind of work, time and gold into getting your own epic mount, then you'll understand why those of us with them get facking pissed off that lazy people think they can not give us a chance to roll because they're too lazy to grind the gold or quest themselves...

Just to give you an idea, here's a complete list of what a Warlock goes through to get his mount. We don't just walk up to someone and say "hey, I'm a lock, gimme my epic mount!"... >.<

Quit looking for an easy way and work at your epics like the rest of us! Also, everyone should roll on this because seriously, the droprate is facking uber low, and it just plain looks sweet.

I don't want to hear someone telling me that because I'm an undead Warlock w/ my dreadsteed that I can't roll on this because I have an epic and I can just buy a Purple Skeletal Warhorse... how about you get exalted w/ Undercity, throw me the gold and I'll buy you the facking mount, and in the meantime I'm going to roll on this sweet ride.

If this dropped, I'd say everyone should roll on it. Whether you have an epic mount or not, this is a once in a lifetime drop, unless you're really really really lucky and you've seen it drop twice. So, everyone should roll need on this thing. I know I would, and I have my epic mount already.

And yes, I worked for the money to buy my mount. I sold a really valuable item for 700g. ^_~

Yes, I agree. Whoever kills Baron ought to be able to roll on it, whether or not they will benefit.

Likewise, a Paladin should be able to roll on Netherwind gear. A Warrior should be able to roll on Avenger set pieces. A Mage should roll on Quel'serrar, right?

It has nothing to do with the value you get, because anyone who killed the boss should be allowed to roll.

A Mage could even equip Quel'serrar. Why aren't you arguing that they should be allowed to roll on the Foror's Compendium when it drops, because it would look totally sweet? A Mage would get more use out of Quel'serrar than a person who already has an epic would get out of Baron's Steed.

If you'd roll on this as a person who already has an epic mount, you're a #$%^ing *!@#, who's screwing someone who would actually use this out of 900g. Boohoo for you; it didn't drop until after you bought your mount. Grow the $%^& up and don't screw somebody who might actually benefit from it.

anyways, funny thing is i'm a tauren. we aren't supposed to be able to ride horses, but this is the only exception.

i have been farming baron as a rogue for a couple of weeks now. a perfect run can be as fast as 15min, on average it takes me 20min. the large brilliant shards and greater eternal essences are very popular and people pay big gold for those on the auction house so even if i didn't get the mout (yet) i have made a couple of thousands of gold just by disenchanting the lvl60 items :) you can find an uncut video of a typical 18min baron run here:

This is simple logic so i hope everyone can understand it easily enough. This item is a reward for killing and end boss, therefore, whether or not u have an epic mount has absolutely nothing to do with who should get it. Whomever undertook the effort to clear the instance and kill Baron should all have an equal chance at this item. Would it be nice of someone who already has an epic mount to pass for someone who doesnt? Sure, but it's their right to roll if they helped clear the instance and they can use it. Now with the changes to mount pricing tho mounts don't cost very much anyway it's training that costs alot.

If it would drop more often it wouldnt be so special anymore... So i think Blizz does right dropping it 1 of 30000.
Of course a palading has big mouth :) but cmon, palas still need to donate approx 350g to get theyr epic mount. Besides they have to do a realy long chain and extremely hard 5-man quest fight at the end... so finaly its equal to just farm those 900g.

i got this off of baron... and im a night elf... my feet touch the ground on this, and i think its worse looking than a tauren on a 'strider...
i reccomend humans on this... i would gladly ride my lvl 40 mount just to avoid the mocking /laughs and the tells saying "you look like **** (crap for the 13- year olds...)"

Wow, so psyched right now, it's amazing :D

Took a grand total of perhaps 80-90 runs; I only kept accurate track of them for the last 11 with MobInfo2. Night Elf Feral Druid on a Skeleton Horse, hells YES!

Some quick facts:

I made around 12,000-15,000 gold total on all those runs. Again, I didn't keep track, so it's a ballpark estimate. I managed to buy my own epic flyer, and pay a total of 4000g to two friends to help them get theirs. I currently have 7500g left over. Disenchanting is what made me the most, although finding a Skullflame Shield made me a quick 1200.

Runs started off slowly. At first I needed to use the Medallion of Faith to get Aurius on my side, and also I usually needed to use my heal macro or pop out with Barkskin and heal. Once I had all my gear upgraded to epics, it was a lot easier. My most recent runs included the use of Weightstones (can't find the best, so I was using +6 damage), major agility potions, and a single Major Shadow Protection Potion for the Baron. In the last 10 runs or so I never hit below 5000 hp.

The #1 cause of death was destealthing by the Eye of Naxxramas, and the subsequent orgy of violence when everything around me aggroed. The #2 was gargoyles flying over me and unstealthing me (usually I can get out of the way, but sometimes the screen would load too slowly for me to see them). #3 was a tie between aggroing ghosts (for some reason they seem to have a larger aggro radius than normal enemies) and the early Baron deaths.

Some tips:

1. You don't need to fight the bugs in the gauntlet if you can stealth. Sneak into one of the corners and wait for them to run out. In about 15 seconds after that, the gauntlet opens up again, allowing you to continue through. Note: this only works if you can stealth.
2. You don't need to fight the Mindless Undead outside the Slaughterhouse. As soon as the last Abomination dies, Ramstein's door opens. Immediately run inside and fight Ramstein outside the Baron's room. When he dies, the doors will still be closed. Kill the Blackguard skeletons, and then the Baron's room opens. Kill the Baron, and stealth/hearth out.
3. Save sprint for the following areas: between the Baronness and Nerub'akan (the spider, whatever his name is) and between Malaki and the Magistrate. These two areas seem the most common for destealthing by Eyes. If you get caught here, IMMEDIATELY run into a secluded area to fight (like the Baroness' zigurat, or Malaki's. You'll still have to deal with like 6 enemies, but I guarantee you'll fight more if you stay out in the open, due to gargoyles, fear, or enemies moving around when a crypt beast nets you.

Also have to say a thanks to my DE partner Heiler who did a lot of runs with me, including the one where it drops. I gave to him as a gift one of the orb of deceptions that i got in Strat.

Average Time: 20-23 min per run
Record Time: Me, Heiler and a hunter: 13 min
Gold: Around 15-20k (3 epics, 2 orbs of deception, tons of boe blues and DE stuff)

For those that will say that im an Undead and would be easier to buy a plain skelly horse i dont care. This is THE UNDEAD MOUNT to me ;)

The mount is the same as any other epic mount. 100%. It drops from the baron in Startholme and it has a VERY small drop rate. My guildie got the first and only one on the server. Dont bother trying to farm him for it.

What everyone seems to be ignoring, is there a SKILL that is required to ride it? If it requires the undead horse riding skill, how would an alliance member go about learning it? I know that people are supposed to be able to learn how to ride, and ride, mounts from the other faction, as a number of sites have said so, and the descriptions of (some) of the items to summon mounts say that races of both factions can use it (I think only the mounts that are unrideable by some races say this; *edit* As does THIS mount!). My question is, HOW does someone learn the riding skill of a mount from the OTHER faction? And does THIS mount need a specific skill?

Dropped today. A guildmate of mine from Transcendance was in the raid it dropped on with 11 people. 3 rolled 100s...roll hack anyone? Anyway some guy named Buzao or something ended up getting it and started showing off in IF.

Its "Black Skeletal Warhorse" Undead epic is "Green Skeletal Warhorse" Its 100% move speed bonus.

Undead epic looks better....

he went the at least 3 times a day for almost a month and got it, he's a human lock, so now he has two mounts to choose...dreadsteed or this one.

Anyone who played warcraft 3 will know that this looks exactly like arthas' steed when he becomes the deathknight. So, i want this for my pally named arthas:P ill get him some nice dark armour and a sword that looks as much like frostmourne as possible^^

It sure must be rare, since it's not even listed. Uhm, sure this drops, never seen it though, one thing i'm really wondering about is if BR really drops it? cause it is not listed in Baron's list of all possible drops =/

Well, only Baron Rivendare can drop his mount - that seems logical.
Allakhazam's loot tables have been wiped since 1.10 changes the chances of droppings from some bosses, so the pool is gathered again - When someone with software like WoWreader(?) will see it drop - it will be listed.

Since the 1.10 patch, Allakhazam wiped the Baron's loot table, as it was changed by Blizzard.

The Baron now has 2 loot tables, one normal, and an improved one if you kill him within 45 minutes of opening the second gate. I think this mount will now be on this improved table.

Until patch 1.11, only those with the 0.5 tier armour quests have access to this improved table, this has been pointed out as a bug. 1.11 will see everyone who kills him within 45 minutes getting access to the better loot.

So for now, only those on the quest can get this mount, this will change in 1.11.

As suggested in the subject, these are simply my thoughts, a mixture of opinions and facts :)

An undead warlock has this on my server. Why? I don't know. People say, "It's Baron's mount and a super rare drop, so it's good for anyone to have." This is true, but an UNDEAD? Baron Rivendare, last time I checked, was indeed undead, therefore his mount doesn't look any different than epic undead mounts.

And also, I don't see why the drop has to be insanely rare. ZG drops are about 1%. I guess, now that I think about it, ZG is a 3day reset, as opposed to Stratholme, which can be reset instantly.

Someone argue with this. I'm interested to see what people have to say.

I belive that everyone should be able to roll. Some people say that it should go to somebody that dosent have a mount... this is just crazyness! lol. I would easily give up all my gear, and gold just to have this mount. It would be like saying, you have a $300 beater of a car, and you just won a $1.5million car like the Bugatti Veyron, fully insured, liftime maintnance, but you give it to someone else because you already have a car. :P That would just be crazy! Although... I dont think you should be able to roll if your not 60, and dont have the training for it. Mostly because, it may never be used! I read on forums, on 2 acounts, that people have won this mount, never got epic mount training, and stoped playing wow! X| That makes me want to cry! It should go to somebody that can use it.

well so far i know who can solo it. all at 70 thought
Hunter < my main very easy.
Rogue < my mate i was watching him do it
Warlock < Drain life is your friend :P
Warrior < well a fury or prot warrior with DPS gear u guys dodge and parry alot...
Mage < mass AoE gits.
Priest < funny enough MC is very handy in here... + Shield and heal is good here.
Druid < same as rogue tbh stealth thought and 1 shot the bosses.
Paladin < Bubble and heal and mass holy damage...
Shaman < heard they can do it easyly with the right gear :P

On the Atlas loot mod it says the drop % is .1%, and on WiWwiki (http://www.wowwiki.com/Deathcharger's_Reins) it says .01% and on WoWarmory (http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=13335) it is listed as "Extremely Low (1% - 2%)" What is right?

after reading post after post of people comparing it to classes rolling on other class' armor/weapons (which i think is bull since it has nothing to do with this).

Someone rolling for an epic armor/weapon that they can't use or is worse than their current armor when it would be an upgrade for someone else is wrong i'll aggree. That is unless the person with sucky armor/weapons knows you have higher importance in the group for the item.

At any rate, this is a NONCOMBAT ITEM, as in you don't start a fight and somehow win when you have this mount with you. It won't heal you or give you extra hp/mana/dmg. You ride it around and look cool, that's it. And as such why don't you roll on it like that? I see trinkets, quest items, and all sorts or other stuff people have no problems with sharing rolling rights with others over. Perfect example are the invader's scorge stones, you don't say, "hey, who has the lowest/highest rep we'll give it to them". No, you all greed or need depending on your group, unless someone is nice and passes.

Point is unless one of you already have this you should ALL roll no matter what mount you have (not that you could roll if you had it anyhow since it's unique, but you get my point).

Infact if you wanted to split hairs people without epic mount training should have lower rolling status just cause they can't actualy use it when they get it. But still, i say they should be allowed to roll anyways.

EDIT: Also to clarify so as not to have people saying i'm biased and don't know both sides of the fence, i have chars both with and without epic mounts/training.

Way too many misconceptions in these comments.

The mount is a regular rare drop on the baron's loot table, that means it always has a chance to drop. You don't need any AD rep, you don't need an AD trinket equipped, and you don't need to be in a 5-man.

The drop rate is probably 1 in 50,000 or higher. As to why a horde would go crazy over this I have no idea since the undead mounts look just as good, but if I was alliance in a pickup I would ninja this before you could say "deathcharger's reigns" It's the rarest item in the game period, after you have this you might as well stop playing because you're not going to top it.

To give you an idea of how rare this is, our server is a day 1 retail server with a relatively high population, and this mount has never dropped on our server.

why would i want to help someone i don't know save gold? i PvP'ed my way to a 90g mount. but i'll still roll on the deathcharger.
if it was a guild run, i would still roll on it. there are 2 on my server i believe, and it's not exactly a new server. (not all the way through naxx, but multiple bosses are on farm status)

and why did someone compare a mount, able to be used by all races/classes, to gear that is only usable by 1 (or 2 like quel) classes?

In my opinion, everyone should get a chance to roll on this mount. This is one of the most sought after mounts in the game, who wouldn't want it. First of all, alot of people claim someone with an epic mount should not be able to roll need on this. I'm not going to start saying that those who want it to avoid paying for it are lazy #$%^&*!s and should earn it. Honestly, who wants to spend that much? And if you already have an epic mount, ofcourse you're going to want this anyway. It's an awesome looking mount, and one of the rarest items in the game. If i saw this drop, i would definitely need, despite my swift white steed. I have wanted either the troll or the raptor since heard of them, and i regret making my mage alliance, since i would be able to get both a raptor and an undead horse had i been a troll or undead mage.

320 runs now no sword or mount yet.

7k gold so far. I walk though it ez mode anymore.

gotten 4 BOE epics 2 orbs of deception.

Just keep your head up it will drop eventually and it's sooooo worth it.

Just wanted to say it doesnt matter how many times you run for the mount to drop....Was running my BF's 54 priest thru with a friend last night and it dropped. Hadnt been in there for 6 months or more, and never to get the mount.

This Skeletal Horse is a rare drop from Baron Rivendare in Stratholme.

It has a 1 in 5000 chance to drop from him (0.02%).

In case anyone is wondering this mount STILL DROPS!

I got it tonight, on Lightbringer. I have been farming this things casually over the course of the last 10 to 12 years, on my DK, on my druid, on my pally, and on my mage, whatever I felt like playing. All total I have over 200 kills on the baron.

Was it worth it? Well, yes and no.

Tonight when it dropped I actually yelled "YES! THERE IT IS!" and I am just stupid happy that I'll never have to run Stratholme again. At the same time it's a lot of time grinding an old world instance for a mount that doesn't fly... YMMV.

Unbelievable but true, this mount will be much, much rarer than the black qiraji scarab mount in classic.
1 out of 5000 chances (more if you roll against 4 other players).
Technically this mount is harder to get than the scarab.
This mount symbolizes the highest prestige you could get for a mount, sadly odds are you're never going to even see it in game.

The first drop in both classic and TBCC has just been recorded today by a Wowhead client user after a total of 9609 recorded kills (you can now see the mount on the Baron's loot table). Easily the rarest item in-game ;)
