My buddy has about +400 ish (with truefaith vestments and other gear) and his renews are almost 300 per tick which is monstrous.

i agree with your conclusion about loosing lots of statbonuses to get the heal-bonus items.

although after digging through alak and thott, i come up with a "set" of blue items that give 300+ bonus for healing AND about 50 mana regenerated per 5 secs. wouldn�t that change ones mind regarding the loss of spirit and other stats?

healing meters mean &*!@.

the other priests were probably doing more important jobs like dispelling YOUR group. since they actually learned how to heal, you can be sure that they were more conservative with their mana and didnt overheal like crazy. after all, they had to make up for priests like you.

you can spam prayer of healing and come out ontop in the meters every time. get the hint yet?

the only reason you were even invited to the MC raid was because they needed another priest. a shadow spec doesnt even contend with the healing ability of priest spec'd for MC.

There are uses for a shadowpriest in mc. If u have plenty of priests druids and shamans in your group you might use the shadow weaving debuff for your locks and vampiric embrace for healing some damage dealers.
Also, a shadow priest can be assigned to heal the damage groups , he just cant be asigned to heal the tanks, because that's where the disc/holy or holy/disc priests shine, with inspiration and much greater effectivity for their heals and more mana regen. The difference is big, but a bad geared holy priest with some lagg can be outhealed by a shadow priest for most of the time, but the shadow priest will be constantly oom or drink a lot of major mana potions, use demonic runes, nightfin soup, etc while the holy/disc will always have enough mana to spare (or drink much less)

+healing is actually amazing for a healing specced pally. It adds nicely to their flash of light, and a well-dressed pally can heal almost as well as a priest or druid with the right armor. Also Whitesoul helm as a blue item gives +35 to healing, 15 int 15 spirit and 629 armor. plus a good one hand and a shield... a heal-specced pally can have a ton of armor compared to a priest, while still being able to heal very well.

greater heal > flash heal (i just had to say that)
as shadow, i think i heal just fine, even though i do notice a difference in mana/mana regen when spec'd for healing
truefaith vestments > robes of the exalted
and btw, MC really isnt all that hard

I can't believe you people who say a pally is almost as good as a priest. This is just not true. My 60 protection spec'd warrior has done PUGs with pallys as main heal many times and EVERY time it ended in total disaster. I've come to the point where I refuse to run an instance with a pally as main heal.
I now have a level 50 holy /disc spec'd priest and I realize that even though pallys can wear plate they will never be near equal to priests in keeping group members alive over extended fights.
Pallys are support players not main healers.

Granted pala's are awesome healers, but u saying that u outheal all other classes doesnt make u a good healer, it just means u over heal :P
Its not how much u heal its how effective u are with the heals u do, and if pala's can be main healer and outlast any other class on mana usage then surely there is no need for any other healing class... and when was the last time u saw a raid without a druid/priest as healer that didnt end in disaster? i rest my case ^^
Not slagging u off or anything im just kinda sick of pala's thinking they are the best at healing, when they clearly arent. (P.S - nice robes ^^)

68+ healing isnt bad, those who think its bad shouldnt play priest. If u spread out healing+ on the whole equipment this is friggin good. Its worth epic lolz

These are nice addition to what I have. I did a +100 Mana to them. With no epics and good drops and questing my + to healing is 356 Mana is at 6500. My renew procs at 270 per click and my flash heals are 1000-1200 which can crit at about 1600. My greater heals are 2200-2500 with a crit to 3300.

Q: When should you conisder using +heal items like this?
A: When you have around 400 healing. This allows you to downrank and use heal rank 2-3 and greater heal rank 2-3. That will save you a great deal of mana.

A couple things to remember:

When you know you will be flash healing/dispelling a great deal during a fight, swap over to int and MP5 (mana regen) gear.

Don't equip +healing items until you have enough to downrank spells. Gimping your mana pool is pointless.

If the +68 heal on this is correct, this is the 2nd best healing piece in the game so far. This is 2 +healing points off from being better thatn the +70 healing robes from Ahn'Qiraj...so saying that these are worse than T0...my god.

For fights over a minute (rare, unless you are doing UBRS raids or higher), use the Mindsurge.

Otherwise, if you are finding that you have extra mana after regular DM/Strat/Scholo fights, use the Robes of the Exalted. More +healing also equates to less time you have to be healing in-fight which equates to more mana regeneration.
