Dropped from Baron Rivendare in Stratholme. We've killed him ten times and it was first drop, so it's not too common.

Warriors use a 2 hander to solo and 1h + shield to tank. If you think a warrior should not roll on this than enjoy having aggro.

Ok, I know there is a ton of controversy over this item, but I have a question on it, before I (as a warlock) go farming for it. I was wondering is the bonus shadow damage is affected by my + shadow gear, if so then if I am in glass cannon mode, the proc on this will do approximately 100-150 extra damage, on top of my Dots and my pets this could be substantial. I understand taht the DPS and proc is great for a rogue and I would bow to a rogue on this item before i take it for myself. So don't flame me for being a stupid warlock. If the +dmg bonus does not affect this proc then I'm not going for it and can leave this foolishness behind me.

I play a lock on magtheridon and i didn't see alot of responce from locks on getting this weapon. If anyone who has it could clarify: Does it gain benefits from other shadow dammage items? And does the life leach enchantment work well? This weapon could be an uber lock sword.

can this thing go off on an enemy more than once? like if u already have drained the guy can u do it again to make the dps of it go from like 2per second to like 4 per second or something? If not would it work with dual wielding just like crusader stacks with dual wield.

i have been in this instance over the last 5 weeks running ~4 runs a day looking for just this sword.
seen it drop 7 times lost every single roll
im a pally and have an ok main hand weapon but seeing as how i have wanted that sword since early july im gonnna work for it until i get it.

sadly some people have zero respect for the patient... tomarrow will be the hopefull 8th and last time it will drop! :(

Well because I had "Basilisk Hide Pants" and those were for a lvl 38, i just HAD to change pants, and these had better stats anyway. ^^

: Today I just got my other Skullforge reaver! :D Im so happy! And im just lvl 57!
And then when I went Strat UD for fourth time it dropped again! My friend got it! =D

Ive run this about 30 times just for two of those or the dagger he drops(60 rogue) We walk into the barons room and i say dam hope my sword drops (I had checked with every1 at the begening no 1 need it) and this dumb-as-#$%^ hunter goes "You mean MY sword" first of all he wasnt even there for the whole raid secondly HES A !@#$ING HUNTER! what the ^&*! does a hunter need with these? ..no stats... (I ever meet him in a arena he is as good as dead)

no one has even mentioned the aspect of a furby warrior for 2 of these swords. if a warrior goes fury his main needs to be slow, building it much the same as a rogue, however the offhand doesnt particularly matter. a furby when hit with a critical will regen 3% of his health over 5 sec, and gets enrage, when he uses blood thirst his melee atks regen 20 health a hit, 2 skullforges with a flurry can proc off and add toall these effects. looking back only bloodthirst would need a fast wep in the offhand but when you think about, it will only get mebbe 1 extra atk.
think on it 2.50 divide 30% thats meaning its 1.75 a hit per reaver. 1.75 into 5 secs goes 4 times at 4.25 total. maybe if you got a 1.50 offhand you could get one more atkbut tbh its not worth it, chunk dmg with inc atk speed is better. i know someone will disagree with me so please make your posts now :)

Would two lifestealing enchants on dual skullforge reavers be a bad idea? Im considering it, because I have a darkmoon card: Heroism, and the proc on that is good (120 -180 health on attack) So im thinking: dual skullforge with dual lifestealing with heroism card = lots of healing. Only question is are these procs going to disrupt each other?

I assume these can be duel wielded, but how do they sit on your toon when you are out of combat? Do they both sit on your back cris-crossed? O_O If so, I'd be more interested in UD side now. I have everything from that place I want but I go to help out guildies with their stuff.

Daggers are faster but you aren't going to out damage me with swords in my hand. In four swipes I can get up to 2k damage and on average do over 1k. Offhand specialization 50% increase to offhand makes my offhand stronger than the main for normal strikes. Hit Blade Flurry and slice and dice and I'm sorry but you will be left in the dust when it comes to damage meters. I've been outdamaging mages that spam arcane blast and pyroblast.

While this may cancel out gouge, it doesn't proc like crazy, and I actually haven't had it proc off a gouge yet. But that is just pvp and I'm specced more for PvE and in that situation I'm using gouge to cancel a spell or grab them away from a member of my party, nothing more. I won't be gouging a boss. This thing typically procs for me just as they are dying.

I know how to play my class with swords and sorry, but you are wrong. Do you even have the weapon to actually test it out?

Amazing sword (outside of higher instances) considering its not main-hand, it would be quite bad ass to dual these, get crusader on both and your laughing ^^

Is the proc a debuff effect you see on the target? and if so will multiple procs stack? Or will it reset the effect like many of WoW's effects do?

For example the sword procs once you get 1 tick of 2 damage 2 hp healed and then it procs again, will you see 2 debuffs on the target or does it just reset the one currently on it losing all the effect of the previous proc?

Yeah the sword is pretty cool. and it does proc after death. for life regen after the enemy is dead. i dont know why casters wanna roll on it though. i argued with a lock over rolling on it. its good if you have a lot of other melee life regen moves and items to stack with it. along with increased melee attack speed. i still use it to tank in certain instances. i never broke a sheep with it though..i dont know why ppl gettin all paranoid about wep procs breaking sheep and sap. the sheeper should always keep an eye on the sheep and not wait till the last minute.

I've been farming star for the mount for about 3 weeks and have gotten about 10 of them.

And no they don't stack with spell damage/healing.

I have two of theses baby's, looks really nice and have good DPS.
I am a 60 rogue, but it have realiced that this weapon is not good for rogues at all!
The lifestealing is not very good when you use gouge or blind...
So dont grind for it, its better if you grind for the Dal'rend swords.

got this on my first run through, took two times to down him with a PUG, but we pulled it off. i was so happy to get this, huge upgrade to my Doomforged Straightedge. procs pretty often too, and it looks bomb. especially surprised to find out it has such a low drop rate. yay me!

I got this some time ago...and from what I saw ..amplify magic WORKS! I mean, when it triggered,it was healing me for 100 hp per sec ( I was lvl 60 pally).Imagine a pally tank with seal of justice :)) not bad eh? :D

i think warlock with soullink build can have it, it suux for rogue anyway..warrior / paladin can use it..

Okay, people. You are assuming that all Rogue's play the exact same way, and if that were the case, you might as well make us all bots.

I'm a 53 Combat Rogue (Sword Special/BF/AR) and with dual these, lifestealing,and my SS Set, Procs will be nuts. I kno a guy and watched his videos exactly that way, and he pwns in PvP. Like a self healer vs Warriors.

And I'm not sayin Dal'Rend isn't better for combat, because Lord knows I want me some Rend Swords, but stop assuming that everyone relies on Blind and Gouge all the time. There's no perfect way to play ANY class.

my paladin is useing one i got it today. a little better than unholy mace in DPS and i wont have to buy shadow oil and enchant shadow efect on it.

wonder if it would be nice to put crusader on it!

This was a fantastic looking sword back in the day, especially before the introduction of any radically styled raiding/pvp weapons. It was the best looking weapon in the game imo, not much can be said for the proc, it really isn't very good.

Today I noticed I had the icon fpr the buff 2 times under my pic while bandaging, and sure enough when the buff timer ran out, it appeared a second time with like 10 seconds left. So if you Dual wield them, it WILL stack and i currently find the proc rate quite nice, triggers like almost every fight.

I got dual rend on me rogue,....

Lost the Reaver roll to a hunter,... gawd I hate him. He refused to negotiate with me. I'll never forget his name/guild.

I have dual Rends but I'll still love to have those babies.. exact same dps with no stats. yet they look way better than Rend imp

it makes a great off hand for duel wield, a nice lil tankin sword also

This is a truely nice sword two in our guild have it and it has a purple glow. When sheathed it is on your back.

It looks real nice, especially when it's coupled with a Crest of Retribution. Sheathing on the back, it looks like the sword sheathes INTO the shield. Very cool.

A priest rolled on this over 6 rogues and 2 warriors and won it. Claimed priests do shadow damage so he should have it.

Generally just +3 max damage and 6dps increase from Thrash Blade. Thrash Blade's proc could potentially do higher overall damage compare to this sword.

Not a really good rogue weapon with its proc (30 sec life leech with 2hp/sec), it will ruin rogue's gouge and blind.

And the proc takes up mob's debuff slot, which could be better use for Warlock's DoT, especially on boss.

The main reason i wanted this was the fact of how sexy it looks. I crit for high400min-low600max with SS. Ofcourse rends charge would own this, and so would many others, but its not bad at all. The proc has screwed me over a couple times when farming devilsaur, never really in pvp, but i figured out ways around it.

Well i was a fury warrior and i collected the Dal'Rend set and now i am MS again however the dal rend is too slow for me to tank with, well at least i think so.

This weapon has a nice DPS i think and the lifestealing enchant could help.

Got one on my paly too...

Have crusader on it and often critical hit for 400 - 500 damage with it.

Love the cool purple glow on it... simply awesome :)

Wth are you talking about? Thrash is maraudon Q reward, this is a L 58 req weapon from baron rivendare. Try comparing this to dal rend instead, kthxbye. This is not a rogue weapon as rogues want 2.7-2.9 speed main hand and like 1.4 off hand. Or ofc ~1.8 dagger main hand. And the proc? Good luck landing a gouge in 30 secs....

First run, a Druid and a mage in tier 1, Pali, Rogue and myself and i think the gear gods were smiling on me, because almost everything that dropped was an upgrade for me Including this beauty, also got the crest of retribution, helm of the executioner and some Gloves as well.

D/W these on my 60 UD rogue, they proc atleast 1nce a fight and i have had 3 double procs since i got them, but the proc is pointless, it damages them for 60 and heals you the same ammount, just put crusader or lifestealing on something with stats, they will interupt gouge/blind making them useless for PvP and 60 health is nothing PvE, i cant w8 til i get the PvP swords over these, althought they do look cool, especialy when sheathed on your back, alot like warblades of the hakkari do. enchanting them will not change there colour, another rogue in my guild put agi 15 on them and there still as purple as ever:

Playing in Classic, can confirm that this weapon does not scale with spellpower unlike other lifesteal effects such as Skullflame Shield and Wraith Scythe. On top of this, the effect can only be applied to 1 target at a time making the effect pretty useless.
