Probably the best caster food buff, not including seasonal food buffs. Mana per 5 is so useful for long boss fights, much more useful than extra int or spirit.

This is one of the few little extra "buffs" you can get yourself for long fights in raids or while farming.
The 8 mp5 for 10 minutes DOES NOT give you the "Well Fed" buff, which means you can still use other food.

I'll be sure to bring this along for raids, its incredibly cheap to get, and its a nice little extra buff.

Mindtap is great. There are only a few bigger regen items out there. But it is unique: only 1 can be equiped.

Wrong. You can equip 2 Mindtaps. It's not Unique.

Will this 10 min. mana regen buff stack with the "well-fed" bonus from eating Sagefish Delight? Or is this item also a "well-fed" buff?

This stuff paid for both my regular and epic mounts... twice. Once in vanilla and again in the re-release via Classic, Horde-side. Alliance side I'm sure they're nice and all, stacking with BoW, but horde side there is no BoW pre-BC; you're boned outside of being lucky enough to have a shammy in your group (not just somewhere in the raid) dropping mana spring, and even then this kicks that paltry mp5. All casters horde-side, particularly healers, down this stuff like candy, but few actually want to farm the fish to make it, particularly on PvP servers since Nightfins are only in contested zones.

If you're horde pre-BC and want to make a steady stream of gold, set aside a couple of hours each night to farm Nightfins and auction the soups in 5-stacks. It is a slow go, but it pays.
