These are good to make if you are LW/Enchanting or have an enchanter alt, since the rugged is easy to get, the vendor mats only cost 60s, and they DE into some pretty valuable reagents.

Disenchanted 30 of these today, here are my results:

Illusion Dust (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=16204) x24 - ~80%

Greater Eternal Essence (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=16203) x16 - ~53%

Large Brilliant Shard (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=14344) x2 - ~6%

These sell great on my server, I figure for the DE or the quest in the plaguelands. Great way to make gold on my way to buying the next mount skill!

this item is the cheapest and best source of illusion dust and greater essences in the game. If you need them, buy 6 stacks of leather, 5 black dyes, 5 rune threads and have someone make you a 5. Send them to you DE alt and enjoy the ample mats you get. I made about 200g making these and selling the disenchanted mats.

Belibe it or not, this is great for leatherworkers also, you really make a profit by selling these things, even to a vendoer. Too often the price vendors pay is less than what you get when you sell off the raw materials. In addition this really raises your skill. I am on 291 and still on orange, so every one I make is a guaranteed rise.

My enchanters in the guild do the killing, pay the thread and I make these things for them for free. Talk with your guys to do the same as long as they raise their skills they should be happy to take the opportunity.

This is the best way to improvre your skill, orange until I reached the 300. Cheap and fast and can sell with a profit superb!

Hi Guys,
considering the cost of rugged leather and other components the production cost for 32 pieces would be ~88G on my server (rugged leather sells for 1,75G ). The components recieved would have been worth ~77G.
Don't think that this makes sense.

On my server:
Illusion Dust: 1-1.5g
Greater Eternal Essence: 6-8g
Large Brilliant Shard: 5-7g

ok, heres a good list of why this rocks for enchanters who have LW friends.

1. good source of eternal essence for enchanted leather :D

2. if you get illusion dust or too many essences, you can always use them

3. the shards are good money fast.

if you can stand to lose a few gold to mats (about 48s in mats if your honored with IF) this is a very good way to get enchanting mats. granted stacks of rugged leather go for 2g on my server and I give these free to guidlies, at least they pay for the mats and get some really cheap mats to show for it :) that and they split profits with me for making them if the mats go to AH

kep in mind, also, that when most people state "going prices" they mean buyout prices. sure, often the bid is near the buyout price, but you can usually find a few stacks of rugged leather for 75s to 1g bids. when the goal is to make alot of these, for profit, check the AH often and put bids in on the less expencive stacks.

I think that the above poster was unlucky, I did 15 today and got 11 illusion dust, 8 greater eternal, and 2 large shards. Which should make me an easy 70g on my server from less than 20g worth of mats.

I don't think there has been any nerf, as this is similar or better to what I've got in previous patches.

Also, if you dont want to d/e them, they can be sold for about 3-6g, there are many rogues that like this item.

Ive been recording my results of disenchanting these headbands, and after a couple hundred of them i think i have the chances of getting items from them figured out pretty well. Below is my personal results after 230ish headbands.

Illusion Dust x1 - 25.65%
Illusion Dust x2 - 46.38%
Greater Eternal Essence x1 - 10.77%
Greater Eternal Essence x2 - 13.22%
Large Brilliant Shard x1 - 4.13%

Im guessing the actual table is like this:

Illusion Dust x1 - 25%
Illusion Dust x2 - 45%
Greater Eternal Essence x1 - 10%
Greater Eternal Essence x2 - 15%
Large Brilliant Shard x1 - 5%

For 20 dissenchants my results were: 9 GEE 1 LB and 23 illusion dust so not bad at all. This should make me be about 90g from selling these minus my about 45g i put into it so 45g profit pretty much doubled my money not bad at all.

Since Naxxramus landed in the world of Azeroth the Argent Dawn have been fighting the Scourge on the front lines. They accept donations after you have a "Craftsman Writ", these are one of the donations. In exchange for the donations you get Insignias (Dawn & Crusade), these you can exchange for goodies. You need 10 of these to fill the order.

For 100 Headbands

1200 Rugged leather ~120g
100 Rune thread 45g
100 Black Die 9g

Tottal cost: 174g

Statistically you'll get

115 Illusion dusts ~115g
33 Greater Eternal Essence ~ 198g (aprox 6g each)
3 Large briliant shards ~24g (Aprox 8g)

Tottal income: 337g
Net profit : 163g

By far one of the most profitable ways to make money, for 1 main reason. It takes VERY little time. (compaired of to other methods like farming etc) Each Headband needs 30 sec to make so to make 100 you need 50mind. Statistically that is 195,5g per hour.

This is from the 2.0 patch notes:

Skill level now determines what items you can disenchant.
Skill 1= Level 1-20
Skill 25= Level 20-25
Skill 50= Level 25-30
Skill 75= Level 30-35
Skill 100= Level 35-40
Skill 125= Level 40-45
Skill 150= Level 45-50
Skill 175= Level 50-55
Skill 200= Level 55-60
Skill 225= Level 60-65

Can't just make a level 5 enchanter alt, gotta be at least semi serious about it. If you have a REAL enchanting alt or friend/guildie, its still good.

now maybe more people will realize how hard enchanting is to lvl up.

my alt got 300 BS ~lvl50 easy in comparison, my alt 42 has nearly 300 alchemy easy mode... both by mining/herbing. my main getting 300 tailor/enchanting was slow in comparison.

all these disenchanting alts if they want to stay in the game now get to have a fun time going up 30 levels and raising skill from 50 to 225 EASY in comparison to having to go from 225 to 275. From 275 to 300 it's like watching grass grow.

however if you're disenchanting lvl60 items, you're probably in a guild anyway with 300 enchanters anyway... course some people don't have the addons to let them know what stuff disenchants to and vendor it... OMG u vendored that for 1g when you can get an average of 6g mats from it!

I didn't see anyone who is talking about the change how to learn making Wicked Leather Headband.. You can learn it from your trainer anymore.. Yes the recipe is also a drop but no need to buy the recipe from AH if the value is more than the trainer value.. If it drops no need to learn it from trainer either..

I think that you just train them from your ordinary trainer, and if you're already on thottbot looking this up, just look up the trainer.... :P

Actually, i've bought 10 of these on AH in the last 2 days and i've gotten 14 Greater Eternal Essences, 1 Large Brilliant Shard, and 8 Illusion Dusts...sold all as soon as it hit the AH; paid about 25G, made about 120G

Actually it also disenchants into Large Brilliant Shard. Friend disenchant 3 of them yesterday for me and 1 gave Large Brilliant Shard (the other 2 gave Illusion Dust), it's pretty cool, according that the crafting of Wicked Leather Headband is far not expensive.
