In my experience on the Nazgrel realm, I couldn't give this stuff away and was forced to (shudder) vendor it.

Went up for auction three times and ended up back in my mailbox all three times.

My friend and I got 20% through level 53 grinding the Angerclaw Grizzly's in Felwood just to get 12 pieces of Warbear Leather for the Warbear Harness, we decided not to bother grinding another 12 to make one each!

I've been grinding Diseased Grizzlies in EPL for about an hour now and only skinned one warbear leather... :*( Going to be a long night.

From Everlook in Winterspring go south along the road to Frostwisper Gorge. On the hills are tons of bears lvls 58-60 or so. They skin warbear leather very regularly, maybe 1/3 or more of the time.

At this time on Dalaran, warbear leather sells for as much as 5g a stack.

RAWRTehfurry is right. Thought it might have changed in 2.1.0 but Meilosh has nothing but smartass remarks for my Hunter. I was not sure I could face another entire bar of grinding but I turned in the Deadwood and Winterfall Ritual Totem quests and that put me about one-third of the way to Friendly.

Chasing the epic Wintersaber mount so I have more Warbear Leather than I can ever use...unless I get the patterns. Both items sell for a lot in the earthen Ring AH.

Unfortunately Chimera Leather is virtually worthless. Oh well.

I found that I have the best luck getting warbear leather in Western Plaguelands. Could be that it's different for each realm. Try the Diseased Black Bears, and Diseased Grizzlys... they gave me around 7 or 8...and I wasn't even trying for that!

Of 122 bears skinned at the location described in Winterspring I collected 28 Warbear Leather. So thats close to 23%. Nice.

My favorite thing about this stuff is that it has the same graphic as Ruined Leather Scraps and Torn Pelt, so some people see it and immediately think "worthless" because of image association. Maybe that's not the reason, but nonetheless, people have a tendancy on my server to put this stuff on the auction house for ridiculously cheap, like 20s apiece. Needless to say I snatch it up, craft it, sell the blues and turn a huge profit, and I do it all without having to farm a thing. Farming is for suckers I say. I've found that if you know how to play the auction house, you can make a huge amount of gold quickly without having to farm anything. The only problem is you have to have money to make money this way. Kinda like the real world.

I've found quite a bit of this in Western Plaguelands, and the bears are lvl 50-52. My skinning is at 343 right now, so that may be why I'm getting some. Anyhow, for those of you that have high skinning but are lower level, this place works pretty well. Though the drop rate might not be as good as Winterspring area, I haven't farmed there at all. this drop rate sucks. I've killed about 66 bears and have 6 warbear leathers, need 36. This is going to be a looong farm.

The drop rate is pretty low in Felwood; have killed about twenty grizzlys up to now and I've only been able to skin one of these...

best droprate for that is from these Rabid Shardtooth in winterspring - i was getting one every 3.5 bears : )

When you skin Diseased Grizzly's in WPL you just find lots of these!

Shardtooth Maulers drop rate is around 1 in 10. I got 30 Warbear Leather in around an hour of farming. Location 55, 41 in Winterspring.
