I couldn't open up the BRD Door (Shadowforge door/gate), nor could I open up a mith lock box that I got whilest inside.

What kinda of lockboxes will this key open? Or rather what is the equivalent level of lockpicking skill?

This will open heavy mithril bounded chests. (aka, ulduman). For lockboxes, just find a rogue because you can carry them around and it is not worth waisting money on them

the level of the key is at what level in blacksmithing it can be made and is the same lvl as lock picking

These are a must have for Dire Maul North. If you don't have a rogue or Engineer, these work to open the second door. Big Tribute every time with these babies. :)

Can you use these to open chests like the locked ones found in Scarlett Monastery? If so how can you tell what type of key you need? Golden key vs truesilver key?

I found out that sometimes you have to try a skeleton key more than once to be successful. I once got some type of locked treasure chest as a drop and I tried to open it with a golden skeleton key that I made. The first time I tried to use the key, it didn't work. However, 3 tries later, the key worked. Fortunately, the skeleton key is not consumed in a failed attempt.

A type of Key that a blacksmith can create and use that will unlock a locked Container depending on the level of Lockpicking skill required to open the lock. Only blacksmiths can use a skeleton key.

In general, a rogue's lockpicking skill is more convienent, because skeleton keys are used up when a lock is opened.

A blacksmith with some skeleton keys can be useful when there are no rogues around who can open the lock.

I don't know the highest level lockbox this key can open, but I know it can open a steel lockbox (which the golden skeleton key could not do).

I can confirm that the Truesilver Skeleton Key can open a Heavy Bronze Lockbox, and a Golden Skeleton Key cannot.
