This enchantment drops from the Deadwind Warlocks in Deadwind Pass only, a small zone between between Darkshore and Swamp of Sorrows. The warlocks only spawn underground, and there are 2 small caves and 1 large cave where they can be found. If you are farming this enchantment you will want to head to the large cave. The drop rate is low so prepare to spend 10+ hours of farming if you aren't lucky. Good luck.

Put in my first solid hour of farming for this tonight. No luck. I did make about 5g from kills and junk grey loots. I also got a green drop that DE'd into a Greater Eternal which runs about 9g atm on Garona. So not bad. Certainly not bad at all compared to farming the shadowcasters for the +7 int bracer enchant...

ya ive been at it for 3 days, maybe closing in on 10 hrs or more, i would put it up there with 7 int, if your not lucky. oh well im here till it drops. at least the drop runcloth like water and ive got a bunch of things to AH while ive been here..... back to the cave i go

I've been farming this formula for about 6 hours now and still no luck. I did manage to get the +7 int formula in about an hour so I'm not complaining...yet. I do have a couple fo tips for anybody farming this formula:

1. Make sure you kill the maulers too. You get random respawns between maulers and warlocks on each mob in the 3 caves so if you kill a mauler, it might respawn as a warlock.

2. Travel back and forth betwewn the caves and you should bever have to wait for respawn. If you can convince somebody to come along with you kill the magi and brutes as well and you'll still never wait for respawn.

3. Make sure you have lots of inventory space when you go. These guys drop massive amounts of runecloth, potions, greens, blues, and the occasional epic (I got a Lifestone last night, so that was 60g).

Those are just my thoughts on it, I'll repost when I finally get the drop.

Spent about 5 hours last night farming for this, finally dropped, so I logged off to get some sleep. When I logged back on in the morning, I decited I might as well clear the cave just for giggles, another one dropped 3 kill yay.

I just thought about farming this thing for a friend 'cause I'd like this enchant on my bracer but jeeeeez, I think I'll leave it. Seems to drop terribly indeed.

Pretty bad droplocation anyways 'cause nobody kills these mobs by just going through so there won't be any "drop by accident".
Too bad, it's a nice enchant.

ok i spent about 5 hours last night grinding the warlocks and other mobs around them trying to get this formula

killed hundreds of ogres, sold 300+ runecloth on AH for 2gold per stack and made some cash off the grey items and disenchanted greens

went to bed out of frustration and started again this morning

enchanting recipe dropped on the 3rd warlock kill thank GOD!

about the same story for me... 130-140 ogres of each kind... finally dropped... got 1 blue (Two of Elemenatals), 7 greens, loads of runecloth
saved 100g (Feathermoon price)

Got mine after about 15 mins and 6 or 7 warlocks killed. Just luck I guess =)
Remember to kill all the other Ogres in the caves, not just the Warlocks, so when they all respawn there is a greater chance of more warlocks spawning instead of Brutes.

The droprate has certainly been upped. I was farming a few stacks of runecloth for first aid and in less then 10 minutes 3 dropped, 2 back to back.

I moved from cenarion circle a few months ago to Dath'remar, i swear this server loves me, I got this recipe within 5 minutes. I also got crusader the first guy i killed..

maybe they've increased the drop rate for this, but the first time i went there, i got 3 in about 45 minutes. second and third time i got 5 in about 20-30 minutes. I've sold them all for between 45-60g on the greymane server. maybe i'm just getting lucky with this one.

I was able to get this in under an hour of farming the larger of the three caves of the Grosh'Gok Compound. I killed the Maulers and the Warlocks because they randomly respawn as one or the other. The Warlock, as everyone has said, is the one who will eventualy drop it.

This thing drops like flies at a bug zapper, and I ain't playin'. I went farming for it yesterday. Took it about half an hour to drop, which aggravated me after reading these comments. Then it dropped again like 8 minutes later. I was like, "we'll test this, try to get some money for my time." Then I stopped by again today and it dropped off the third warlock. Stupid.

Confirmed! Drops from Deadwind Warlocks in the Grosh'gok compound in Deadwind Pass which is in The Vice area. I killed probably 40 to 60 of them before it dropped, still killing so I can maybe get another for a friend.

Also, Runecloth drops are insane here. Got almost 100 pieces in less than 30min.

600 kills of warlocks, 721 kills of maulers late, still no recipe ffs does it still come from here?

now up to 1300 kills of warlocks, im going to give up now, got Brightwood Staff, that should net me a few hundred g, can get the recipe off ah now...(btw every single recipe on ah was people who were there when i got there... >.< sux

Got 2 of these now both sold for 95g :)

On the enchant though, as a Feral Druid I put this on my Wristguards of Stability so they now total 39 Strength(Heart of the Wild)which is 78 AP :)

Got it from a guildie after I told him The Vice was a good place to farm Runecloth. Before that I killed roughly 200 warlocks for this and no succes.

I'll keep farming and see how much I can ask for this beauty on the AH.

This is actually a very easy item to pickup. Just go to the farthest cave at the end, and wait for warlock respawns. Got two in less then an hour. Extreamly easy with elemental shamans (Note: Dont over use earthshock, use a lower rank to disrupt spells and conserve mana)

18ap = ~1.3 dps

Great if you throw it on a bracer that's already loaded with ap and/or strength.

On any other type of bracer, I would pop +9 Stamina on it personally.

I myself carry tanking bracers with +9 STA, and my DPS bracers with +9 STR. Do whatever suits your role best really.

After farming for 4 days (sorry I can't keep track of all those ogres like some of you can) it finally dropped and I learned it on my mage. Then 2 days later when I went back for more runecloth and potions from the ogres, I got TWO in 20 minutes and then a THIRD after another 2 hours. Two went to guildies and one's in the AH.

If you're killing these and wondering if blizzard accidentally removed it with phase 3, they did not. It drops, I must have been very unlucky, but it took 1113 warlock kills.

The item only drops from the warlocks, but they share spawns with the maulers, so make sure to kill every single mob in the cave if you on sticking around to farm this pattern.

Over several days of farming off an on it finally dropped. Final kill total:

Only got a handful of greens (maybe 10 or so) no blue items and one epic Axe of the Deep Woods.

17-Jan-2021 , farming for about 3 hours, 118 locks dead (+130 maulers, ~100 other orges) no drop yet. 1% drop my a*s, more like 0.1%...
Going to farm until 150 warlocks, then ill give up. No gray / green / epic drop, just a lousy blue polearm that doesnt sell on ah, so it'll go to DE.
It sells on AH for about 300g. Havent seen one in weeks tho.

Edit: 2 hours later, 181 locks dead (+++ others), no drop yet, not a single blue / epic / gray either. Only 1 green drop, some boots.

The drop rate for this item is broken heavily. It is not 1.1%!
I got one green with 0.01% and one blue with 0.01%, but no recipe that has 1.1%?
Should be 0.1-0.3% since people farm between 300-1100 warlocks to get a drop. After ~200 locks killed, it didnt drop. That's less than 0.5% drop rate.

Don't believe people saying they got the recipe after 1 mob, or 10 mobs, or half hour. Lies don't do well.

I'll better go farm gold and buy it from AH, when it appears, since it'll take ages to get one to drop.

i confirm that in WOW Classic (TBCC Prepatch) it drops on like the 12th drop. They seem to have taken the old patch2.0 droprate which was drastically pushed

I think that I have killed a thousand of these on and off for weeks, so yesterday I added a kill counter addon and started to measure timings and similar things.
I killed 400 more mobs and thought that I would post some interesting things here:

There are 11 spawn points in the 3 caves (one in each cave in the north and 9 in the south cave)
At least one of the mobs are on a patrolling path throughout most of the cave that you might miss if you don't take it at once when you see it (since you might run around each other)
The chance of every spawn being a Warlock/Mauler is 50% for each (within margin of error)
While only the Warlocks drop, you need to kill both Warlocks/Maulers since they share spawnpoints. (No other ogres affect this)
The spawn timer of each mob is random between 5-8 minutes from when you kill them
With a AQ/Naxx geared furyprot tank in berserker stance it takes around 3 minutes to kill all 11 spawn points if all are spawned and around 4-5 minutes if you are out of sync with the spawning killing them as they spawn (You will heal yourself enough with bloodthirst / crusader proccs to keep going forever with no other healing)

While the absolute most efficient way to get respawns as fast as possible might be to run around like a headless chicken looking for them respawning and killing them at once, the gain is so marginal over waiting for respawns and then do a full loop. To keep my sanity I have therefore opted to start at one of the caves in the north with one spawn in them. I set up a macro with "/dbm break 8" and press it once I start. After I click the macro I clear all spawn points that will have all mobs spawned. When I get back to the cave I started in the mob might spawn like 1-2 minutes before the timer runs out, but I do not kill the mob in front of me until the timer fully runs out. At that point I press the macro again and start killing once more.
Doing things this way gives me around 5 minutes break each run to watch youtube or whatever else, while at the same time ensuring that every time I start a new run all the mobs will have respawned when I get there (or respawn just as you get to them).

As of now I am in Classic Era (phase 6) and I have probably killed around 2000 mobs with no drop, but I have only got a counter for the last 400, so I cant be sure of anything else than that. I am wondering if the drop rate might have been lowered in one of the last phases compared to earlier, because it feels like one of the most unlucky 1% farms that I have done in a while otherwise. That being said, random is random and I would guess that it drops eventually.
