I could swear one attack power was 2str/2agi. but regardless, this is decent for a shammy coming into UBRS/MC whatever. *waits for crazed monkies called internet users to stop throwing feces about the "race call" remark*, anyway, put on +stam/stre/agi/spi armor, then just slap on +int enchants all over. If the fireresists aren't built in you're still fine, get an enchant for the cloak or whatever. its easy. These are damn nice boots and remember +100 armor = 1% damage block.

ah the last black dragonscale piece i need... but the cores are tough to get for it. need 4 lava cores and 4 fiery cores, but theyre only found at MC. also, i know somebody who can make em so as soon as i get those cursed regents (reeealy tough to get, cept for the thread) they will be MINE!
p.s. these boots are best wen fighting dragons such as those in burning steppes and blackrock. but feel free to use them anywhere else.

these r some good hunter boots =P

its the THORIUM brotherhood... not the blackrock dwarves lol. figured that out just before i made this post. so it should be pretty easy to get... if u can get to him in the first place...

You guys really need to get a wack on the head, ofc these boots suck statswise, just as all other classes fire gear. These are used in your fire res set, that you need in the Ragnaros encounter among others.

"Fire res doesnt help that much anyway"

- Well give me a call once you spawn Ragnaros and say the same. You will be begging for someone to make you these boots.

Dont wait until its too late, save every drop you can get with fire res, you will need it later.

1. Hunters require 53 AGI for an additional 1% critical hit chance

2. Hunters require 26.5 AGI for an additional 1% dodge

3. Rogues and Hunters gain 1 attack power per point of Strength, and 1 per point of Agility. (as opposed to 2 attack power per Strength.

These boots are great if you are headed to MC and are going to be sitting in the back plunking arrows. They are also great for if you are farming for xp for pet or for some item you've always wanted. Not everyone wears the same gear for pvp as they do for basic hunting.

You forget to compare armor ratings...
These boots have 50 more armor than the average green mail boots of that level. Thats more than a 20% increase

I just got Honored with the brotherhood....

What no one has asked is how much does the pattern cost from the vendor, curious as i dont want to turn up there without enough wonga.

Hunters get the same melee attack power from stats as rogues... one from strength and one from agility.

BUT Hunters get two attack power per agility for ranged attack power... which is what we want.

Thorium Brotherhood(TB) is mainly located in Thorium Point in Searing Gorge. There is a guy there where you can buy general goods/trade goods(whats the difference?)...anyway when ur neutral with TB you get friendly by giving this guy 2 incendosaur scales, 1 coal, and ur choice of 10 heavy leather, 4 kingsblood, or 4 iron bars. Turning in 2 scales, 1 coal, and 4 iron bars(or leather/kingsblood) gives u 25 rep. It is different with humans though who i think get 27. After treacherous farming or spending money on this, you get a break. Once you are friendly, you turn in Dark Iron Residue dropped in BRD. I have just become honored from turning this in and it came to me to about 990+. Now as honored, i shall go to BRD bar, purchase this pattern for only 16g and make it. These boots sell in my server for alot of money(2k g). To become revered, I think you turn in 10 dark iron bars but im not sure!

If you have about 100g you wanna throw into building this honor up ... its incredibly easy ... just buy the AH out of the mats ... except for the coal the little dude supplies them himself if you browse his wares. Then alls it is is a %^&* load of clicking =) also if ur dragonscale LW get revered with this and you can buy chromatic gauntlets pattern off of him ... the names fayevalntine on alexstraza server ... for the horde!

u dont need to wear the boots for the whole time u only use them on bosses that will burn u up like Ony and Rag for the rest of the runs use your other gear any exp raider would know that

So yes AGI is better but for Rag and other Fire bosses FR is godly

Agility is greater than attack power for obvious reasons.

Crit chance is where a hunter is going to excel in damage...so yes having +%crit gear when raiding helps out ALOT.

FR in MC is required by most guilds that run it seriously. Most guilds require hunters to have 100+ FR unbuffed to attend the raid. So for a person running Molten Core this set is a godsend.

The attack power offsets the loss of crit chance that most hunters rely on for damage.

The FR mitigates alot of damage you take in CERTAIN fight in MC.

The set bonuses make up for alot.

For actual hunting however, away from creatures that deal fire damage, agility will be more beneficial for the increased dodge, higher armor (yes agility does increase armor), and higher crit chance. Having this whole set, even with the bonus to crit% dropped my crit rate by 4%.

...A previous post made several good points about why a hunter would want this set for raiding MC. I'm just clarifying a couple of things.

1. The FR is the most obvious reason.
2. The only "stat" on the set besides FR and AP is stamina, which is a nice complement to the high AC.
3. The Ap *does* make up somewhat for the lost crit% chance, but what makes it better than AGi in a raid is that it removes crit chance, raising sustained DPS instead. There are few things more frustrating than a crit-specced hunter getting huge strikes against a boss, only to have it turn on him over and over again. It gives the MT a headache to deal with so much threat being generated from 30+ yards away. What losing the AGI does is lower the crit% chance of the hunter's strikes. The addition of a +crit set bonus offsets the loss a little, but it's a far cry from 22% or more ranged crit. In other words, losing agi and gaining AP keeps DPS high while reducing the amount of threat a hunter generates in a group.

I'd laugh till I cried if I saw anyone trying to PvP in this set, but it is a very solid entry level MC set -- moreso when you consider that it can be crafted at will, instead of collected haphazardly over several weeks of set-searching.

so if, according to the above post, the black dragonscale gear is not good PvP gear, what is good PvP gear for hunters at this level?

I have this pattern and can make it on sever Eldre'Thalas
Mail or PST Thilia (Alliance)
If you want it for a Horde Character, make an alliance alt and send me a mail. We can setup a time to meet at Gagetzan auction hall where I will buy the mats from your auction dirt cheap and then put the cloak on AH dirt cheap for you to buy back.
