Excellent rogue neck. Beats Eye of Hakkar, and most likely Barbed Choker as well. 32 ap vs 1 hit and half a crit basically. I'd go with the latter, but it's a matter of preference and accessability.

Eye and Barbed Choker > Onyxia neck! 14ap = 1 dps, 1 hit = 1 dps after 6+hit... If you have NICE weapons and 6+hit w/ 1000AP+... grab the eye or the barbed. pass the ony neck to a Rogue/Hunter. I have all 3 items. with the Barbed choker u realize a huge difference once u put it on. Onyxia you can hardly tell. even i monitor recap after every boss fight.

Essentially it drops every single time, and the same item is needed to get the tanking trinket or the spell crit ring too. Class is not an issue with this item.

This neck item is by far the best for a hunter. I am not saying that other classes would also benefit from it. IMO also the best neck piece for a rogue.

Everyone, stop with the nonsense. This neck is not specified for one class, although the agility and stamina ratings do suggest an all or semi-physical class. We know you love your rogue, warrior, whatever, but please don't share it here. Focus on killing the girl, then worry. Anyone can wear this.

at first of all: this comment counts for all items from mc, onyxia, bwl etc.
why are you always talking about classes? this doesnt matter at all. the item is good for any meele class.
the reason why the class doesnt matter is because you can only get this with a NOT-RANDOM 10 - 40 men (depends on the equipment and skill. there was a 10 men group which managed to kill onyxia, but it took them 45 min ^^) raid. the allocation of the items is in almost all guilds regulated by points (dkp). this means that you get points for joining events like onyxia, mc, bwl.... and you can spend these points on the droped items. in most systems, the person with the highest number of points gets the item he wants but he looses a specific number of points. and if a mage thinks "Bonereaver's Edge looks nice, I'll get it" and if he has the highest number of points he gets this item. BUT: this would be stupid because he would spend his hard earnt points on an item that wouldnt help him alot. and all war. and palas would hate him...

Stop talking about which class can roll on this etc. in highquipmentinstances you cant roll on items.

who ever gets onyxias head can choose from different items..this is one of them..as in hunters can get this if it is their turn to loot the head...and btw...onyxia is REALLY easy...its the easiest way to get a tier 2 piece..

Like so many have said before, this item is not for a particular class.. You win the head, you get the item you want..

As for rogues, this is the second best neck-item out there as of patch 1.11. It beats Nefarion and C'thun "head"-rewards by a slim margin and is only topped by Barbed Choker. Since Onyxia is way easier to kill than Nef, Fankriss and C'thun, Rogues should focus on this one (but in no way do they have any priority on it).

First of all, there isn't even a priority available, because you turn in the head and then decide what >BoP< item you take. Anyone can take what (s)he wants let them decide for themself.

And here comes my question, which one is better, Eskhandar's Collar or the Tooth Pendant? I've got the collar now, and I think it's better for PvP, but the Pendant is better for PvE but I would like someone to confirm this ;-)

The Eskhandar trinket could be debatable, due to the insane amount of HP, and dodge and crit given on it. Tough call between the two.

Just qestion: Can i use this neck to enter Onyxia's Lair (change for Drakefire Amulet) or Drakefire Amulet is still needed for enter the cave?

As a druid I am collecting two sets of equipment, one for healing and one for feral.

I am thinking to get this baby for my feral side as I already got two rings with fire resist.

Hunter, Got mine tonight, the only thing that makes this the best necklace for physical dmg classes is the 10 FR.

as a warrior, i would take this item hands down over the lame trinket. the trinket will make you a little bit better of a tank, but this neck will give you +1.6% crit chance, .6 dodge, 1% chance to hit, 90 HP and some FR. a huge upgrade from the emberfury talisman.

I would definitely use will of the martyr over this, since I go for solely attack power as a rogue. though once battlegrounds goes live I may have to reevaluate my build and stat choices. right now they're tuned for two-hit kills in hillsbrad.

I only get 12 attack power from this (and about 1.5 crit) where as I get 30 atk from will of the martyr , or 1 crit and 26 atk for mark of fordring.

sure I'd like this neck for the rare instance in which I'd equip it, (probably only during baron geddon or onyxia) but honestly it's not worth spending the dkp on.

+1.4% crit (roughly)
+12 attack power
+1% chance to hit
+90 health
(+10 FR to boot ^^)

So which is better?

28 attack power -or-

.4% crit, 1% chance to hit, 90 health, and 10 FR

I'll take Onyxia Tooth Pendant.

This is one of the three rewards for killing Onyxia and turning in Head of Onyxia or Head of Onyxia (Alliance).

For Horde:
Head of Onyxia gives Victory for the Horde which leads For All To See.

For Alliance:
Head of Onyxia gives Victory for the Alliance which leads Celebrating Good Times.

Reward is one of the following:
Onyxia Blood Talisman
Dragonslayer's Signet
Onyxia Tooth Pendant

This quest is not repeatable, so you only get to choose one of the three rewards.

Nice drop. Unfortunately our guild deems it necessary for ALL tanks to get this BEFORE any other class for the Blood Talisman and subsequent Fire resist. Being a Hunter, along with other hunters in our guild, we think it's an unfair looting practice. Then we'll need to roll against ALL other classes. Gonna be a long season to win this roll since we just started downing Ony 10 days ago. ;( Thoughts?
