for what it takes to get this thing, eg a group of 5 players around 54, it's not worth "camping" him for. he has 3 attached mobs you have to deal with.

the baron charr scepter drops when u kill the baren charr in the un goro crater hes a unique mob that only spawns once in a while you will hear a yell when he spawns and he will be walking around the volcano intill dead with his 3 guards (baron charr 58 elite elemental)

I can confirm that they're still in the game. Just saw him yell, and saw the invaders all over the mountain, a yellow tint brighter than the regular fire elems up there.

easy to solo for a warlock...

take care of his 3 bodyguards anyway you want, banish, fear and DoT, use VW for aggro.

Kite the baron round volcano, just stay out of his aoe range, keep DoTs on and shadowbolt on your nightfall procs if you have em.He will drop 1/3 of the way round and with some luck you'll have some nice loot.

I was questing around in Un'Goro Crater and he spawned, and yelled for a challenge.

He's definitely still around as of 2.0.1.

Yep, just fought him. Not easy. Unless you are at the right lvl. Like you dumb 70s saying oh, i just fought a lvl 58 elite, it was easy. STUPID> Anyway, i didn't beat him. Just work on the mob thats with him first. Then get him. I was solo. Got most of them down after 2 deaths. Then had to leave.

yep still about, had him 2nite just before server shutdown, also dropped a couple of other things like 4 core of elementals and 4 essence of fire and some other stuff. he's pretty tough though, i soloed him as 68 warrior but him and his mates pack a punch.

Yep still there.. took him with a friend. Dual hunters, she took the boss, I took the adds. Mace topped the drop list.. everything else was meh...

Solo'd this as a 58 frost mage. Trick was to take out the adds first, then dps the hell out of Charr. Had to use mana ruby, superior mana pot and celestial orb to kill him. Also water elemental x 2 (coldsnap) and Iceblock x 2. He has a lot of hp and his aoe attack hurts. Make sure to keep the ice barrier and fire shield up as much as possible and you should make it.

Well, hes still around. Ran into him yesterday after visiting my old friend, blazerunner, and got the ace, a few hearts of fire, some elemental fires, and so on.... From earlier accounts, he seems to have been nerfed a little. When i ran into him, I actually jumped right into the middle of his whole entourage + a few other normal blazes that happened to be in the area. with all that I was still able to solo as a 64 hunter. Now to just find somebody that wants the ace......

No way this useless piece of crap is suited for a 54....more like a 40....i mean, look at mograines might....38.something dps 2H mace, like level 40 required....or something close to that

Timeworn Mace, hands down beats this, and it's mandatory that you obtain it with only 1 group.

2 more dps, 2 more strength, 11 more stamina, 100 more AC and it's offhand capable and not unique...how could ANYTHING currently compare?

This is a rather nice mainhander for mace specced rogue. It has a yellowish glow as default.

Alas, the weapon often procs when using gouge and thus breaks it.
