Okay all u people who want it its not another go-kill-moB-return-get-sowrd quest, nor is it a drop at a drop percentege somewherer between 0 and nothing, oki this is how it goes in stepps

1. get ot lvl 60
2. go to Mc (molten core)
3. kill garr and baron geddon
4. kill them until they drop "bindings of the winseeker" part one and two
5.go to silithus
6. at the North west corner using the 2 parts summon "Prince thunderaan" he drops the sword 100%
(look above that starts the quest

quest is finished in BWL (blackwing lair) sorry i cant remember which part it says it in the quest.

HOW TO GET THUNDERFURY

------------------------------------------------

1) You must collect one of the bindings of the Windseeker. There are two halves. The right (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/search?q=t?i=37684) and the left(https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/search?q=t?i=40145). They drop off of Barron geddon and Garr in Molten Core. Once you get one of these you are eligible to get the quest. Go to Silithus and talk to Highlord Demetrian. He will give you the quest.

2) With the quest now in your posesion, here is what you need to complete it.

Right Half of Bindings of the Windseeker (MC)
Left Half of Bindings of the Windseeker (MC)
Essence of the Firelord (MC, Ragnaros Quest)
10x Elementium Bar

In order to make the elementium cars you need..

1x Elementium Ore
3x Elemental Flux
1x Firey Core
10x Arcanite Bar
------------------------------------------------
Ridiculously expensive. And that's only for oen bar, and you need ten. Good luck.

3) After you have all of this go back to Silithus and talk to Highlord Demetrian. Complete the quest and he will summon Thuderaan for you. He pretty much has the same graphics as rags, but different color and make of wind not lava. Also he hold thunderfury, not Sulfuras. Once you kill him you receive a legendary object name "Wind kissed blade". Return this to Demetrian and he shall scream something like "Please don't hurt me! Here, just take it!" And bam, you receive Thunderfury.

Have fun parading thru your faction smajor city.

Before the expansion came out, i heard Thunderfury, Ragnos, and the other legendary weps would be replaced by better greens from OL in a few lvls but every1's still talkin about getting this. Was I misled because this thing still looks SICK >:D

It is rather a simple, let's say a rogue finds the bindings from Geddon or Garr, and he begins the quest... He raids Mc until the other half drops, and that ussualy means a "few" raids. After giving everything to Highlord Demetrian, he gets the Q in killing Ragnaros and getting his essence. He does that, and afterwards the fun begins. Let's say that until now it took him a month (and it ussualy takes someone three times more than that). After the Bwl raid, and the elementium bar creating, wich is incredibely expensive, he finnaly gets to summon thunderaan to take his just rerward. Although many people say he is hard, for a experienced guild the fight lasts under two minutes. His hp are very low. When he drops the "Dormant Wind Kissed blade" wich will give you Thunderfury. HO in his right mind would you ever allow you to roll on this? It is obvious you have not made any raids, since you know that in raids, the raid leader decides who rolls. Better yet said... NO, NEVER, NO PERSON WOULD EVER BE SO STUPID TO LET OTHERS ROLL... I MEAN C'MON YOU WORK FOR 4 MOTHS SO SOME OTHER DUDE COMES ROLLS AND WINS?

i have this for my rogue, and it doesnt aggro to bad. This is fine for rogues. it costs aton though and takes a while, it took me like 6 months. But it wasnt to bad killing thunderan. It took me and 9 other guys like 5 minutes. 8 of us 9 got this blade, the other guy was a priest, even though he was a guildy we felt bad pitched some gold together and gave him 150g for healing us. Maybe much but hes a good guy.

Well I am a level 60 rogue that has already put a large amount of time and money into this quest, still far from completing it due to the BWL involvement. I have to say if i finish this quest which is without a doubt in my mind the hardest quest in the game for a freakin novelty sword i wont evne be able to use in anything but pvp and then even it wont be half of what the quest implies it should be, that will be the last day i log on to WoW. Im sure many feel the same.

If your in a guild that is at least AT vaelastrasz, you can get this. The bindings, and the elementium ore drop. you just need to wait. Thunderaan is a push over. Just get the items and your set.

It isobtained when you get both the left and right half of the bindings of the windseeker from garr and baron geddon in MC, after that you must gather together a %^&*load of materials, including elementium ore which drops off of the goblins in bwl. once you have all of the materials together, you procede to silithus(i would suggest bringing lots of ppl with you) and talk to Highlord Demetrium, I believe this part of the qst ends up with Demetrium summoning Prince Thunderaan, who looks somewhat similar to ragnaros. you have to dfeat the windseeker(prince thunderaan) and return the wind kissed blade to demetrium and force him to forge the thunderfury from it.

Im lvl 32 is it possible to get only when ur 60 and i want it will pay a guild 500 each person who helps to get me to 60 and helps me get the sword

I got ninja looted this is a waste man . My guild leader is a red neck jerk cuz we did this boss and i was the one who did all the thunderfury work it was mine , but then it was FFA so a guy ninja looted( a hunter!) and he left guild and did /e kicks me in the nuts and i got ninja looted we reported him and NEVER got a answer from BLIZZ.....

Well in the end it seems that this is the reward

So I'm thinking that if you have a guild dedicated enough to help you with the immense amount of time in MC, BWL and crafting, then yes, the reward is worth it, even if only for the status of having that bad-ass looking blade.

It now appears that this item can be picked up by anyone.
Which means any class could get a Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, though only classes able to use swords could wield it.

Make sure the right person loots this item.

HOW TO OBTAIN Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker

Receive both Bindings of the Windseeker (drop rate: 4,08%) from Garr and Bindings of the Windseeker (drop rate: 4,28%) from Baron Geddon in Molten Core.
Visit Highlord Demitrian in Silithus. He will give you Vessel of Rebirth to start the quest Examine the Vessel which leads to Thunderaan the Windseeker.
Kill Ragnaros for Essence of the Firelord (100% drop rate when you have the quest in your log).
Aquire 10x Elementium Bar.
Bring your guild and head back to Highlord Demitrian. Turn in the quest and he will summon Prince Thunderaan which will drop Dormant Wind Kissed Blade.
Complete Rise, Thunderfury! and you're done!

Mats needed for 10x Smelt Elementium:

100x Arcanite Bar (100x Thorium Bar + 100x Arcane Crystal + 100x Transmute: Arcanite)
10x Elementium Ore (Buy from the Auction House or loot in Blackwing Lair from Blackwing Technician)
10x Fiery Core (Buy from the Auction House or loot in Molten Core from trash mobs)
30x Elemental Flux
