I'm extremely happy with this trinket as a fury warrior who mostly PvPs. Great addition to burst DPS.

Whether Burning Crusade will have any trinkets that rival this I don't know, but if you're thinking of getting this card, bare in mind that while the majority of the Elementals cards are trivial to obtain via the Auction House (as they are world drops), the Five of Elementals (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19272) only drops from mobs inside various late-60's 5, 10, and 20-man instances and a few select Plaguelands mobs, so may take you a while to get hold of.

Even though the Poison Vial is better, this is a very good alternative. I use it on my warrior and rogue and it procs a good amount, but you can get unlucky and it doesn't proc at all, then boom! 3 procs in a row.

This trinket does not depend on weapon speed like some other trinkets and abilities do (the Shaman weapon enchants for example) and it keep s the same damage, with a small chance to crit, all the way through to 70 (i.e. does not scale down like Crusader). Most of the procs that I have witnessed at 70 are closer to the 200 mark, but that maybe due to resistance and such. Overall, a great investment.

I guess I may add a comment as well since so many posters have exaggerated the value of this item. Clearly, this trinket is nothing for the L70 player as there are far better choices available these days. Face it, 50-100g spent for the cards at AH would be better spent on something with a real value, obviously prices vary on different servers but if you are lucky enough to find a buyer for the epic deck itself, do not hesitate to let it go for whatever you can get out of it.

Is far better. Higher damage proc, base +hit. Pre-BC this may have been a good investment, but now it's outclassed by most blue trinkets.

Dont dog the darkmoon card! I love it. I use it on my druid in cat form when I absolutely have to go cat (am balance) It is nice when you arent feral so I will take any help i can get in feral dmg. Plus it crits. Plus I did work hard pre-bc to get it. Because like it or not as a druid there are times when u cant be moonkin and going melee is better and this helps a lot i find.

Although the damage stated is from 200 to 300. This trinket is well capable of doing more than the stated 300.

I have had this go almost 400 that I have seen. Didn't think to take a picture till today. So if wowhead allows it. You will have a screenshot of over 300 for the Nature damage.

I have to say. I paid ~8g average per card on my server. So for ~64g - and someone that doesn't get to raid, often or at all - this is definitely a trinket worth getting.

I think the key thought to considering this trinket is how you play. If you do raids and get to go into those instances. Then by all means: Romulo's Poison Vial is a much better choice - so long as it drops. But if you don't play within those places, then stick to getting this trinket.

Well, i would like to ask if anyone knows, if the proc reduces when you are above 60...

I am level 63 right now. As far as I can tell it does not reduce with my level or with the level of the target.

I have it go off on Outland bosses just as much as Ashenvale mobs or even Horde players.

It does go - as someone else stated - two or three mobs and NO proc. Then on my next fight it will proc as much as four times before I kill the mob, and then proc 1,2, or 3 times fighting my next 5 enemies.

I think "Chance to strike..." is on a per hit basis. I will monitor my Recount addon and edit this when I get a bit more info.

Still wondering, would this be worth getting for a rogue spec using 2x Instant Poison with Romulo's Poison Vial? I mean, that's 4 different procs that add over 200 damage per, could these all proc together?

Obviously the level 70 item is going to be better than a 60 item. That's just common dog.

You CAN however equip both for lots of extra burst damage. As far as I know.

Was actually pretty surprised to see that unless I overlooked a comment (though I am pretty sure I didn't) that no one has made much mention of this trinket used in conjuction with Stormstrike.

From my understanding, while spell damage doesn't increase damage delt, Stormstrike since it is a flat 20% increase of damage from the Nature school that it applies to this proc much in the way that the holy damage from the furies deck will be increased by RF.

Can't confirm yet since I my shammie is only 52 but I just turned it in and will update this when I hit 60 if no else has before then... having an extra 40-60 damage isn't jaw-dropping but like anything it adds up and there are numerous times where I don't want to rebuff lightening shield and a charge from Stormstrike goes unused.

Will be pretty nice if this is true and will be nice to be a bit more frugal like the debuff from Stormstrike instead of wasteful.

Just thought I would mention it.

This trinket is not worth the trouble nor the money. The Elementals set sells for about 300G on my server. 15G would be a more reasonable price for it. On my dual wield warr it procs once or twice approx every 5 fights. Leave it on AH, there's more usefull gear for 300G. The Heroism trinket for example...

They need to seriously up the proc on this thing. I have killed like 30 mobs and it has not procced yet. This thing should proc at least once every 10 hits.

I've been collecting the peices of elementals for a while now and have everything but the ace; but I saw some mixed arguements up here about whether this trinket is really worth all the gold. Is this trinket really worth it (for a rogue)? Or should I just sell the peices and switch to a Heroism deck?

A pair of 60 rogues wearing at least 100 or more fire resist gear can acquire one to two Aces of Elementals in about two hours doing Incendius farming in Lower Blackrock Spire.

Stealth in, and down the highway straight to Incendius. One rogue being an enchanter for disenchantment of useless drops. On the up side of farming him you'll also likely acquire some very strong fire resist gear for your class. He drops the best rare FR bracers for every class levels 52-whenever you get an epic fr item(or a rare one giving better than a +10 fr bonus). Cinderhide Armsplints, Pyremail Wristguards, Emberplate Armguards, and Flameweave Cuffs of the Eagle/Monkey/Bear/etc.

Two level 60 rogues, equipped with the adequate protection gear and average level rare weapons can kill him and reset the instance about every eight minutes. This is a perfect trinket for a proc set.

Proc sets are incredibly powerful when multiple procs activate, and make for above average "all the time" gear with the proper enchantments. They do generate huge amounts of aggro, which is either a good or bad thing depending on circumstances and class.

Plus damage to nature spells and effect items do influence trinkets, weapon procs, and even rogue poisons which are nature based effects.

Btw, this trinket worn with dual Ebon Hand maces and a 5/5 Mace Specialization build is very effective.

This card has replaced my Blackhand trinket as the damage it does imo is better then the 2% crit in pvp, (I always have PvP trinket equipped in BG's) The Trinket has done 3% of my overall damage and can proc 2-3 times per mob or not at all its a fickle thing, But the Damage it does is nice and I would recommend getting one for anyone.

but seriously it procs often enough i dont know how it goes for 2h warriors but shamans have windfury so it spawns pretty often.

So am I understanding correctly that this trinket has a 'proc per minute' thing rather than an outright '% to hit'?

If so, it looks like it's worth getting for a Seal of Command, PvP paladin.

Got it on the 10th, using an OEB with sword spec maxed and a hand of justice, it has about a 10% proc rate.

Also, it will proc off retaliation hits.

The card seems to proc only on hits of the mainhand weapon including specials.

The procrate depends on the weapon speed. With a 2,7 speed sword it procs about once in 20 hits.
With a 1.8 speed dagger it procs about once in 30 hits.

The damage the proc does is reduced by nature resistance. The druid I've been testing it with had about 50 nature resistance and resisted 25% - 50% of the lightning damage.

All in all with the card equipped about 3% of my total damage comes from the card's proc.

according to Arthenix on thottbots maelstorm comments the procrate is 2,5%. He wrote:

Significant boost in DPS while in cat form... the spike dps helps out a lot while solo'ing as well. Level 57-60 regular world mobs now generally die faster than I can blink twice.

In other words -- yes it works in cat form. Pretty useless for bearform and caster form (obv).

I am considering getting this trinket as part of me speccing to fury come TBC. I want to get this trinket to see if it procs along with my Thunderfury. Would anyone think this would be beneficial to a dual wielding warior? Does this trinket proc based on the number of hits? It seems that my Thunderfury procs like mad and I am wondering if this is the same as that, or close to it. I like to see the spike damage on my Thunderfury proc along with this trinket will contribute to killing things quicker.

Anyone with a Thunderfury and this trinket have any experience they care to share?

Some useless information for you:

- DOES crit
- With improved Kidney Shot its damage will increase
- It is unique, cant be worn 2 of them
- Requires lvl 60
- Doesnt need reputation
- Procs quite often and a nice dmg-boost for rogues

Just bought this for my Warrior. Gave up my Epic mount savings for it and paid 1200 G. After having it for a week, WORTH EVERY PENNY. My metered DPS has gone up about 25% since.

When my Rogue gets to lvl 60, I will be acquiring the cards/buying another elementals deck. Probably be even more of an impact on him.

I desperatly want this for my warlock! Can you imagine getting a fast dagger with a chance on hit damage proc on it, enchanting that with fiery weapon for another damage proc, equipping a firestone for yet ANOTHER damage proc, and having this thing? Slap some DoTs ons someone, and bang away. Throw in an imp blasting you and you've got some nice DPS for sure.

I'm a fury warrior with a 1.5 speed mainhand and 1.7 speed offhand. Am I better off with this, or the Zandalarian Hero's Medallion (420 damage added to weapon damage every two minutes, assuming that I hit 20 times in 20 seconds)?

At least not for a Lv62 DW shaman.
Wanted to try it and was lucky to get the cards for less than 60g.
Procs are very rare (1-2 times every 10+ fights) and deal about 250-270 nature damage. Maybe works better for classes that only use fast weapons.
Or it got nerfed by Blizzard. I'll keep it though. Maybe they change this item and increase it's power from almost non existant to usefull.

I crafted one in classic the first day of the Faire. I play a feral druid and it does proc for me. I use it with Hand of Justice mostly when I'm dpsing. This trinket can proc twice within a couple seconds, but I've also gone minutes with zero procs. I've also had it do partial damage from getting resisted.

Here is a comment I posted in the Druid Discord about the proc rate:

"I did a live strat run and skipped cannonball wing. Wore HoJ and Darkmoon card: Maelstrom. Maelstrom did 2.6% of my total dmg.

I did 974 Auto Attack's, 197 Shred's, and 146 Claw's. The trinket had 38 procs.

974+197+146=1317

38/1317=.0288=3%

3% Proc chance from the dungeon I did."

Edit: I wanted to edit my comment to do the math and figure out the average damage it does per proc.

It proc'd 38 times and the total damage of those 38 procs was 9.6k according to the screenshot (I don't know if it did 9601 or 9699, so I am going to use 9650 for the calculation)

9650/38=253.947368

254 damage per proc on average.

On my Paladin with 122 spell damage, I wasn't seeing any kind of bonus damage.
Some procs would be very close to 200, and it did 299 damage once.

The highest crit I got with it was 442 damage.

It also doesn't seem to be able to proc when judging Seal of Righteousness, but that's kind of expected "Chance to strike your melee target with lightning..."
