There definitely are way better +1% <all> spell crit rings.

Take the trinket! With a 2 min cooldown you can use it with every boss mob in an instance run

It's not difficult at all to get rings that give +1% crit to ALL spells, not just Holy.

Pass on this and get the Prayer Beads, they're a far better reward.

NOTE this if you have an inspiration build:

Critical STRIKE from items only effects offensive spells; mind blast, holy smite and fire and only dds!

Critical EFFECT from items (or the holy 5 point talent) affects BOTH dds and heals!

That is why this > band of rumination if you are healing.

All of these are meant for lvl 50/51's, so the priest quest is rather useless for lvl 60 priests.

The other ring you'd probably wear alongside it is Seal of the Archmagus.. but thats unique. Shadow resist will be the next big resist you'll need in all likelihood.

The alternative "good" reward for the quest is on par with ToEP which drops quite a bit in MC.

- Picked up from Brother Joshua (Stormwind) High Priest Rohan (Ironforge) & Ur'kyo (Orgrimmar).
- Travel to Azshara & turn in to Ogtinc.
Of Coursers We Know
- Picked up by Ogtinc (Azshara).
- Loot 4 Healthy Courser Gland from grinding Mosshoof Courser Azshara.
- Turn back in to Ogtinc (Azshara).
The Ichor of Undeath
- Picked up by Ogtinc (Azshara).
- Grind out 1 Ichor of Undeath from Undeads south-west of questgiver or just buy one from the Auction House.
- Turn back in to Ogtinc (Azshara).
Blood of Morphaz
- Picked up by Ogtinc (Azshara).
- Find group for Sunken Temple dungeon and loot Blood of Morphaz from Morphaz.
- Turn in to Greta Mosshoof (Felwood).
- Get your hard earned Blessed Prayer Beads / Woestave / Circle of Hope.
