i made this item from a scroll, 1 dark rune, and 5 firebloom but i have no idea what to do with it now

...depending on which signet you made.

Signet of fire, signet of whatever, and so forth.

on a side note, Crest of Beckoning does the same but for the Templars. The templars are the easiest of the two. Some can solo, but with two you have have no problems. These Dukes however are a bit tougher and a gorup of 5 can usually take them, but a couple more does not hurt.

You summon them in Silithus using the windstones at the twilight camps. Be warned though you will need to be in a group.

Any one know if this also works with the members of the shadow council? Seeming how specific epics drop from specific council lords this would be nice.....

For templars you can use crests of beckoning: (fire/earth/water/air)
For dukes you can use signets of beckoning: (insert element)
And for the highest bosses you can use scepters of beckoning

The crests are fairly worthless, the single ones are so easy it's not really an issue to waste mats on to decide the one spawning. The highest ones however have their own loot table including epics, it takes a big groupt to take one down tho. But deciding which one you summon can very much change the drops you get.

i guess i am not understanding, i can use this instead of the cultist clothing to summon? how do you use this item?. i know how to summon normally but how does this item come into play

the signet of fire is going to be needed by anyone doing the tier 1.5 armor upgrade quest. the quest "three kings" after the 45 min baron run makes you kill the duke of flame. Having spent 150 gold in mats summoning the wrong duke (6 shots), and turned in 200 text to the hermit and still no dead duke of flame, I would pay a lot for this item. Not in the AH on graymain.

Guys, we get that the crest of beckoning for each of the elements allows you to summon the duke that corresponds to the signet's element. What I'm not understanding is HOW do you use it?

Do you equip it somehow?

Do you just need it in your bag and when you have the cultist gear on and go to summon as normal, just having the signet in your bag makes the one you're looking for appear?

Do you right-click the crest when standing in front of the wind stone?

Please...if anyone has used these crests successfully, let us know HOW to use them and not just state that you use them. Thanks!

Patch 2.0 broke the stones. They now suffer from a glitch as of this date. They still work, you just have to do something to make it work. I'll explain, and this procedure comes directly from Blizzard Support. (It will probably be fixed in tonight's patch, but in the event it isn't, try the same method).

First, the signet of beckoning: fire is used to summon a duke.

How do you 'use' it? Simply have it in your inventory will suffice. Then when wearing all 3 trappings + the medallion of station (yes I said "wear" so you are wearing all 4 items) you then click on the wind stone. (Not the lesser, and not the greater)

With the signet in your inventory, you will then be given the option to summon a particular duke. Otherise your option is just random.

The duke takes about 3 secs to load in, so if you are fast you can re-wear your gear.

Please note: Upon summoning the Duke, all 4 of the items you wore to summon him, INCLUDING THE SIGNET, will be consumed.

Let me be perfectly clear. You loose all 5 items used to summon him. So make sure your group is ready.

Taking down Cynders: Easy. Just have a party of 5 and do max DPS and he drops quick.

Drops. He will drop a signet (used for repeatable request that earns 385 CC rep if you are friendly ((dunno about other reps)), and gives you the bag of spoils, which contains numerous items.

As long as your brilliant shards don't cost an arm and a leg, farming dukes is worth it.

Signet of Beckoning: <Element> will summon a Duke of a specific element when in your inventory and you are wearing the Cowl, Robe, and Mantle at a Windstone.

Crest of Beckoning: <Element> will summon a Templar of a specific element when in your inventory and you are wearing the Cowl, Robe, and mantle at a Lesser Windstone.

You obtain Scrolls by turning in 10 Twilight Text to the Hermit (after completing the quest for him) and turning them into Encoded Twilight Text. Later, in the mail you'll find the Scrolls which can be used with other items to create Crests, Signets, etc.

Can anyone fill me in on what I have to do to get the hermit to mail me the scroll for the fire signet? I've turned in over 150 texts and all I got were scrolls for the crests. (and 1 srcoll for the signet for the water elemental)

If you have it in your inventory when you summon a normal windstone, it will give you the choice to spawn the fire duke instead of a random one. One use.

It's a very VERY low drop rate percentage. If you are looking for a specific Duke, you're far better off just summoning several Dukes until you get him. That way you can save the rest of the texts for rep. Or ask around to see if anyone in the zone or in your guild has a signet of beckoning for that particular Duke. It's just not worth wasting the rep on the hermit.

Here is how the summons at Silithus windstones work:

The summon has 2 properties: A) Difficulty and B) Elemental Type.

A) Windstone type dictates difficulty of the summon (easy to hard: Templar => Duke => Royal).

You need a full Twilight Trappings set to summon a templar at a lesser windstone.
You need a full Twilight Trappings set + Twilight Cultist Medallion of Station to summon a duke at a windstone.
You need a full Twilight Trappings set + Twilight Cultist Medallion of Station + Twilight Cultist Ring of Lordship to summon a royal at a greater windstone.

B) Crest/Signet/Scepter remove randomness of elemental type of the summon (Air, Earth, Fire, Water). Type of element after crest/signet/scepter controls elemental type of the summon. Without crest/signet/scepter, elemental type of the summon will be random.

Type of item is linked to difficulty level of the summon.

Crest controls => Summon Templar from a lesser windstone in Silithus
Signet controls => Summon Duke from a windstone in Silithus
Scepter controls => Summon Royal from a greater windstone in Silithus

Bought this for 160g turned out cheaper than trying to use RNG to get the correct one to spawn for the T0.5 quest chain Three Kings of Flame
