Is there any replacement enchant or enchant equal to this in BC? Seems kinda needed since these drop from Twin Emps and are one of the best enchants a prot warrior can get

On PTR the mats for this is:

4 x Small Prismatic Shard
2 x Greater Planar Essence
8 x Primal Life

Get the formula from the Sha'tari Quartermaster in Shattrath for 9g at Exalted.

I do not agree this is the best enchant a prot warrior can get on gloves, I would rather go for 8 stamina from a knothide armorkit, or 15 agility. +2% threat is only useful for those who have problems with threat generation, if so you might want to consider a spec that is better in that, and maybe change some parts of your gear. I got quite mixed gear myself, some T4, some Karazhan items, and also some items from heroics and even normal instances. And I have a TPS of about 900 average in Gruul's Lair and SSC, peaking to over 1200 and sometimes dropping to 600. This should be enough to keep you first on threat and keeping aggro.

Especially if you're the one that starts the fight, any melee (=anyone in melee range, not dependent on class or type of damage) will need 110% of your threat to steal aggro, and for ranged (=anyone standing out of melee range) this is 130%.

Good news for anyone wanting this, in the lock nerf patch (just downloaded it and waiting for initialisation) this becomes a vendor recepie, as with all other AQ chants, imba huh?

Yesterday I was in a heroic Slabs run and was waiting for the priest to rez the rogue we had. So out of sheer boredom i examined the priest's gear. when i came to the gloves guess waht enchant i found? +threat.

Did I miss a new priest tanking patch?

Just to clear up any questions that you might have about this enchant. It was originally a rare drop from AQ40 that required:
Nexus Crystal x4
Large Brilliant Shard x6
Larval Acid x8

The enchant now comes from Sha'tar Quartermaster and requires exulted status. The mats for both the old and the new enchant have been updated to:
Small Prismatic Shard x 4
Greater Eternal Essence x 2
Primal Life x 8

Now, more importantly, how it works. For all classes, threat is generated through damage dealt and through certain moves that generate threat by doing them. For a defensive warrior they will generate 150 threat for every 100 damage dealt. This enchant will increase that to 152 threat per hundred damage. For a bear it will increase from 130 to 132 threat per hundred damage. For a pali it will increase 150 to 152.
This does NOT work on moves performed. i.e. for a prot warrior their sunder will remain at 301 threat and their H.S will remain at 196 Threat. This will improve Devastate as that devastate will remain at 101 threat for the move but for the 50% weapon damage dealt it will increase threat to 152 per 100 damage.

What this means is that if your threat is primarily generated through moves like sunder then getting this enchant will achieve nothing for you. If however you generate most of your threat by dealing maximum damage then this enchant will be beneficial to your tanking skills.

Is this enchant for you? you have to ask yourself where you generate most of your. Bottom line is that if you didn't press anything and still generated a fair amount of threat then this will help. If all of your threat comes from applying debuffs and taunting moves then maybe you should stick with +8 stam. In general the higher you are on the damage meter the higher your threat will be. As a protection warrior there is no question that this is on my gloves; the more threat generated by me, the more damage everyone else can deal to the mobs I'm tanking.

(as a side note to warriors, you'll see that devastate generates about 1/3 the threat that sunder generates. This is true for the move itself, but just remember that devastate also causes weapon damage and that damage creates 1.5 (or 1.52) threat per damage. This generally averages out to about the same amount of threat, but a tiny boost to you on the damage meters)

As a tankadin, I think I'd rather have the +20 spell dmg chant. Spell damage can be hard to come by, & the coefficients on our spells are so good that every extra bit goes a long way - I think longer than just this 2%.

um. there will be an enchant cloak subtlety which should make the negative effect for everyone but tanks.
with these added to everyone in the raid it should make another 4% threat reduction to totems, buffs, talents and whatnot ;)

Easilly the most profitable item in the game, bet you could make 10k gold the first day (atleast if it's the first for your faction on the server).

The reason this is good for a warrior- DPSers often have to limit themselves to let a tank regain agro. With this enchant on a tank, you can have more DPS- making fights go a lot quicker.

OR

I can use this on my mage so I can kite Rend or something very easily =D

Onyxia, BWL & AQ bosses are often immune to warrior threat generation ablities. Items and gear that increase threat make up for this.

Sigh... nobody goes on about how a good mage doesn't "need" +spell dmg gear. That's because we know it's a stupid comment. Mages do damage. More damage is better.

Yes, a good tank shouldn't NEED this enchant. However, a good tank would also never pass up any oppurtunity for additional threat. Additional threat means that much more DPS your raid can output. Warriors make threat. More threat is better.

Putting this enchant on all of your tank's gloves is like putting subtlety on the rest of your raid's cloaks. It means more DPS and more healing per second.

i mean the AQ rewards thus far have been awesome but this almost tops the cake. I can think of no better chant for a tank (not just warriors but pally and feral drood)

this end game is very pretty indeed. cant wait untill it opens on destro - scepter complete, only need those damned resources...

Can't find anyone on my server that has this enchant. Wish blizz would add a way to get this in outlands, so guilds don't need to farm level 60 instances to help with level 70 instances.

Its not horrible but 2% isnt much. Defiance is 3% per talent point.
