I'm a pet collector, I have every single pet available in the game and I must say that this is my fav. It's cute and attracts a lot of attention. Plus the greenish aura makes lots of people stop to cure me from poison or disease. There's one disadvantage people should know about though: this pet is very noisy. The constant, bubbling sound is cool at first but becomes a real pain later. In raids or in cities, be prepared for complaints from people standing nearby.

Disgusting Oozeling is one of the most rare and special pets in game.
The only pet that have a buff effectthat turns the user green when you bring up the pet it also emitts a slimy sound around you.

Oozeling all over the world at higher levls have 10% chanse to drop a oozeling bag with random items in. There is a 1% chanse that this pet appears in that bag, this makes the pet have a 0.1% drop chanse from oozeling.

I love this little guy. :) He's my precious oozy and I loves him.

Go to BRD and get the Ale, and then throw it at oozy and see what happens :) He emotes!!! "Disgusting Oozeling guzzles the ale" and then he burps! Oh he's so funny.

However, I can't take him on a guild run because of the debuff. Originally the debuff stayed on you the entire time, but now it fades off and on the whole time you have him out. Also, if you accidentlly throw the ale where he can't get to it, like on a ledge... he will sit there and spam his emote until the mug disappears. He won't even follow you any more, just sits there and spams chat for a good 3 minutes.

I picked up mine farming Felcloth in Felwood (one of the Jadefire guys dropped it). This pet is stictly for its "coolness" factor and definitely not used during raids or while grinding.

They used to sell for mega-gold, but the price has fizzled quite a bit. If you find one, don't bother putting them up on AH. Take'em out and have fun!

If there are multiple Oozelings on the ground and a Dark Iron Ale Mug is thrown on the ground, only the nearest one will run toward it.

I went to farm this in felwood when i had free time, while waiting for BM for Elixir Mastery Specialization Quest.

Wasn't expecting it to come out of the first bag I got. Only 32 kills, and a bag dropped. I was amazed as hell that I got it. Still thinking if i should equip it :) (Fuck it, I'm equipping it :D )

If you are a druid you can shapeshift to a form and back and the green aura goes away. You're not cured of the debuff, but no more greenish hue!

The green effect is permanent again now, they fixed it a few patches ago. The effect makes some spells look pretty neat, summoning with this pet out makes the spell effect look very neat.

I got mine from Ooze in Un'Goro crater, i didn't look for it, ooze attacked me first... My friends always tell me that I am luckiest bastard they know. Once I was in Feralas and got Wall of Dead shield from random kill... : D

I got 1 after 100 ish kills in un goro, sold it for 75g and was happy with that, I mean vanity pets are cool but not ones that have effects that change ur appearence for the worse >.< and now, strangely, i have killed about 200-300 oozlings and my luck on the bags dropping has changed for the worse i hav recieved about 2 bags in the last 300 ish mobs killed, yet before i got the pet i was getting bags drop every 15 ish mobs :(

Hate to be a party pooper.... but I was trying to kill infernals for the core of earth, and mistakenly stumbled upon a pond. In the bottom of the pond there was a Brown/tan colored slime.

Found that quite odd considering everything in felwood is green hued. Long and short, It had a silver dragon on it's health bar. So i figured i'd kill it. - one kill one bag, one Oozeling. Sold it to Morw on Manno for 70g.

If that wasn't a kicker.... i put it up on AH for 2s with no buy out. 10 min later its at 50g. who would have thought?

Guess next time i'll just keep the cool bugger!

I farmed about 2 ~ 3 hours in Felwood and finally got this baby!

He sure can make some cool noisy sound and weaken your defense.

After a week of farming:

0 Disgusting Oozeling

Not. Cool.

1.2% drop rate. 132 bags. Don't you think it'd drop by then? I got everything from what oozing bags contain at least several times (even the green gems) ... but no pet.

I'll continue farming and update when I get it. Hopefully I won't have to go over 10,000 kills from my wonderful luck.

Farmed it out in one day.

I went to Felwood/Easternplague Lands/Westernplague Lands. This mini pet imo is really cool, who ever is still farming keep doing it for this one is worth it.

Killed a total of 227 Mobs, got 10 bags, and took almost 2 1/2 hours.

Note that this pet is unique, so if you get one and use it, you can no longer use that character to farm for more oozelings without first getting rid of your own. :-(

I lucked out and found one of these on the Illidan (Alliance) auction house for a mere 1g88s :D I paid a lil over 400g for it on Azgalor. This is by far the best pet in the game.

I was once the proud owner of this marvelous piece of nature, my account was hacked however, all of my items sold and deleted.

Through the interaction of the powers at be my belongings were restored to me, all except for one.

The common white quality of my beloved Oozeling prevented it from being returned to me, as the world had not considered it to be of an item rarity worth keeping a track of.

This is my warning to you, this is my tale, beware of the thieves who would seek to take this treasure from you.

been farming for a few days now for a couple hours each day running back and forth between the two "scars" in EPL. the drop rate on the oozing bags sucks and most of the time the contents are silver or herbs. this is getting to be worse than farming the formula for crusader.

gotten a blue world drop so far

edit: opened 20+ oozing bags so far with no luck, if the percentages are right then I should see something within the next 30 bags

edit3: Well over 50 bags and still nothing, have even seen two oozing bags drop at once. This is really ridiculous because I farmed an azure whelpling in only a couple hours. I have also been spamming trade and checking the AH religiously and its nearly impossible to find because ppl either vendor or use and bank.

Its approaching 10+ hours of grinding DO NOT FARM THIS.

I didn't even know about this pet until someone persistently started spamming in trade that they wanted to buy one. The guy was offering a very nice amount of gold for one, and as I am saving up for my epic land mount, I decided on a whim to see if I could farm up one of these Oozelings to sell.

Total pipe dream, right?

I hit up Felwood, killing oozes by the Bloodvenom falls/river area, and no more than 2 hours later (in my 3rd Oozing Bag found), I got one of these little guys!

So I haven't tried farming oozes anywhere else, but Felwood struck me as a pretty good place... especially for Horde. The area the oozes are found in is really close to the Horde "town"/FP, so it's really convenient when you need to unload vendortrash or repair, and the oozes had a fairly quick respawn rate for me.

Here's hoping other people looking for this pet have as good luck as I did!

EDIT: Happily sold this sucker on the AH for 500g.

Always wanted one of those and went to farm for one tonight, took me about 45 minutes (around 10 bags) untill I got mine. Farmed in the Ooze cave in western plaguelands. I'm happy :)

Reading these tales it just highlights to me how random these things are.
I was aware of these things when grinding in Felwood (for runecloth, i think) but also knew of the low drop rate and there aren't that many oozes in the shadow council cave I was grinding in (6 or so a run?) so wasn't really looking for one. Lo and behold one dops and after much agonising and showing off in guild chat etc, I punted on the ah for about 600g. Very nice. Within a hour of starting to grind again in the shadow council area, got another one!
So that was 2 in about 2 hours and maybe 30 kills?
Sorry to all those who have spent days hunting them :)

The oozes in WPL are easy to kill.
The " Devouring oozes " spawn allot of little oozes when they die, but if you stun them before you kill them, they wont spawn more oozes then the ones already spawned when he was alive.

dropped off felwood oozes. bout 1 hr of farming. in my experience, bags dropped more frequently off lvl 52 oozes. then the lvl 51. found 5 bags total, 1 off lvl 51, and 4 off lvl 52s.

Took about 6 hours of farming in shadow form at level 60 in eastern plagueland. I was also twinking up a 48 mage who blasted some.

They are in bags that drop off of any kind of oozy thing in the scars. Brown or green both drop the bags about one in twenty kills there and the Oozling was in my 46th bag.

Bags also have minor treasure in them.

Oozling itself is cute but no special animations that I have seen yet.

I spent 2 days farming the cave in WPL for the nature recipe and 2 of these dropped within 5 minutes of each other. Be careful if you have 1 in your inventory you can't take the other one out of the bag it came in they are unique

... All in all this took a good day of farming. I did however get 5 nice green tiems, about 30g in all (from the silver that drops some bags had 25+silver) and finaly on the 469 kill, i got the oozling. Other than having a pet that turn you green and reduces all your resistances by 20 and defense by 20... what reason would anyone have to keep this "thing"?

for fun, i threw a dark iron al� in front of an AQ-boss.. 15 sec later i summoned my oozling.. i didnt belive it myself first, but it actually ran away to the dark iron ale and drunk it up, then ran back :D

Yesterday i got my Oozeling... today i read the comment above... 10 minutes ago i went to the brd and bought some beer.

It really drinks it! with an emote!

The emote in german is: "Ekelhafter Schlammling st�rzt das Bier hinunter" (which means something like that the disgusting oozeling drinks the beer very fast)

Hi peeps.

I got my oozeling by killing a RARE ooze which lies under the swamp in Felwood. Its called Blood Venom Falls. I think once every 24 hours there is a rare spawn. It is a grey ooze you should be looking for and not the greens which are harder to drop I think. My first kill on the rare spawn and I got it.

Going on 6 days of farming. About 4-18 hours per day. I've killed hundreds upon hundreds of those damned slimes. I've gotton an epic, 5 rare drops, countless greens, and even a double bag drop. No oozeling...

I've gained level 55, 56, 57, 58, and working on 59 ALL ON OOZE EXPERIENCE. Its maddening. I'll dump my weekend into getting it... Maybe I can snag 60 on them. Only need 1020 or so to get to level 59, and I'm over halfway there now. :\

Got mine today (7 april 2006) :)

Been farming for maybe 3 days, getting my dark whelpling was harder imho.

Tips if you don't wanna be bored is to have a good guild with a funny guild chat, makes time fly away, this is what made me forget how boring it was when I was hunting for my dark whelpling :).

Another tip is to read a web comic from the beginning to the end while you'grinding. I read pvponline.com while hunting for my oozeling, but you can also check out machall, gucomics, penny-arcade and ctrl-alt-delete. This only works for meele classes like druid, shaman, hunter, warrior and rogue. Maybe warlock can do it to with a little wanding.

Podcasts is also nice :) Listening to "The Dawn and Drew show" while grinding Timbermaw rep :)

Just shift your attention to something else other than the thing you're killing and it feels that it goes much faster :).

Vote for me, cause these tips must be spread to the people :)

Thanks all on the info here. I saw someone with one of these in Stormwind and they got it from a friend. So I looked it up here on how to get one.

I got this in just a day of killing the Tainted Ooze in Felwood. First I tryed near and around Bloodvenom Falls for a few hours and then moved south to a few green pools close to Jaedenar. The spawn points seem to be closer together there so less running around.

Tip: Turn your pet on, then mount and dissmount. This makes the green color on you go away! You are still effected by the pets debuffs but at least your not green. :P Screenshot here.

Got mine off an Ooze in Un'goro Crater. I'd never heard of it before I got it. I'd killed only about 50 or so Oozes, so I guess its really down to luck if you get one or not.

Now how much to sell it for ?

I started off with 30 or so free spaces in my bag when I began grinding for my oozling. When I filled my bags I decided to call it quits and went to the vendor to dispose of my trash items. Between coin loot and vendor trash, I made 25g. All in less than two hours. I'm a rogue though so I didn't have any downtime really.

The Tainted Oozes tend to drop a lot of Bulky Mauls, Tapered Greatswords, etc. The items that sell to vendors for almost 2g.

Just figured I'd let you guys know. It's an easy way to make money and you just might get a Disgusting Oozeling as well.

edit: I forgot to mention that I also had a Basilisk Bone drop which I vendored as well since I couldn't DE it and it's a crappy blue.

Well I have no idea why i actually wanted this thing but i just did. So i go to Felwood and farm for it. Started farming at about 41,60...made my way north to 39, 47 and went east to the lake and killed every ooze i saw along the way. At first I was going to give up hope and just buy the one in AH for 300g but I knew it would feel much better if i got myself like i said i was going to. After 147 kills a 7th bag dropped...I told myself if it wasnt in there i would just go check the AH again. Well lucky me it was in there and now I can save my money for more important things =).

Additional info about this pet:

- It makes you glow green and there is NO way to get rid of it
-It makes a constant bubbling sound
- It drinks Dark Iron Ale with an emmote, "Disgusting Oozeling guzzle's down the ale!"
- It reduces defense and all resistances by 20, so be careful about using this pet in combat

I got mine off the 3018th kill today. Tainted ooze in felwood. 52s have much better droprates I looted 2 bags to every one bag the 51s dropped. I farmed for days got 3 Epic world drops (Hurricane, Hammer of nothern winds, and freezing band) two rares (Warmonger and Guttbuster) and countless greens. I got all 3 epics and the better greens from the 52s. After my 2600 kill mark or so i saw one in the AH for 400G. instead of buying it i decided to stick with it until i got a drop. Now I have a feeling of accomplishment as well as a cool vanity pet.

heads up guys....if one of these drop for you...and you want to give it to an alt...DO NOT MAIL IT IN THE OOZING BAG...once mailed the bag will contain somthing different...im so pissed right now its not even funny. the GM said that they can not tell what i previously had in the bag..as ^&*!tty as that is, it works both ways if you dont get the oozeling in a bag ...mail the bag to an alt and you get a 2nd shot at the oozleing

I only farmed for about 10hours when it dropped....so not as bad as some of these guys but who knows how long it will take to get the 2nd one...GL guys

The ooze has been sought after by many, and this tale needs to be told!

I had read all the posts above, and wanted one for myself. The mana wyrmling from Netherstorm was ok, but if you are going to collect rare pets, the oozeling is way up there towards the top of the list, and I doubt it will ever be replaced by the firefly.

The big reason why you don't see them much now is that everyone is in the expansion, and places like Western Plaguelands, Eastern Plaguelands, and Felwood are virtual ghost towns. Who wants to spend hours and hours killing slime monsters there?

So I thought to myself, why not just keep mining and PAY someone to farm the pet for me? For 2 days, I hit the trade channel, offering 500g to anyone who could produce one. I got a hold of this one kid, 14, from Australia. He hit EP, WP, and Felwood for over 3 days. The drops were miserable.

He did try emailing the bags to alts, hoping that the contents would change. No luck.

On the fourth day, he gave up and started farming fireflys.

So I went back to trade for another 2 days, looking for someone else to take the plunge.

This guy shows up one night, as soon as I logged on, and said he thought he had an oozeling on an alt.

A few minutes later he shows up, with an oozing bag. I thought at first he was trying to con me, so I told him to open the bag. Sure enough, there it was.

I asked if he had just farmed it. It turned out that this guy ran into it over 2 years ago, and just threw it in the bank, never thinking about it again until he saw me in trade.

Makes me wonder what other gems people have forgotten about.

Killed Tainted Oozes in Felwood.

It took about ~6hrs total over 2 days. I downloaded mobinfo2 on 2nd day to keep track of kills. I'd estimate around ~400 kills, and about 20 bags.
Combined, the bag droprate is 4%. I'm not sure what the %is for the actual pet in the bag.

Technicaly, the lvl 52 Tainted oozes have a much higher droprate on bags, but because they are always mixed in with the lvl 51s, it's a moot point. I hope you guys have aoe.
Done with a 70 hunter, using Explosive/Snake Trap > imp. Volley (no interupts) > FD.

According to my calculations based on my droprate and data from thottbot off of the tainted oozes in felwood.

there is a 6% chance of a bag dropping
there is a 1% chance the oozeling will be in the bag

(6/100)*(1/100)=3/5000 --- probability of GETTING ONE

Also, in independent probability, the previous kills have ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT on the probability of future kills. if you havent gotten a bag in 1000 kills, it just means you are really unlucky.

So I found something about about the Disgusting Oozeling and our friend "Winter Veil Dusguise Kit"

You need:

Ice Block
Winter Veil Disguise Kit
Oozeling

To do this trick, put out your oozeling first, then put on the costume. Then you Ice Block while in the costume and wait 5 secs, then you're a green snowman!

A few days ago, I was questing in the Un'goro crater and an ooze decided to attack me while I was looking for crystals.

After its death I got a bag and, inside, an oozeling.
To be honest I didn't have a clue on what it was.
Now that I read your comments, it seems that I was lucky but... on my leveling I spent days (litteraly) farming for a Red Whelp and killed thousands of the little dragons without any luck.

Now, I'm with a weird thing in the bank (still unused) and no whelp. Since then, I've checked the AH to buy one and haven't found one (except for an Azure one at a price I can't afford).

Conclusion: when the odds are against you, there's nothing you can do about.

Ran to the lake around 42,47 in Felwood. Looked for the rarespawn that apparently has a good drop rate, wasnt there. Killed ONE lvl 51 Tainted Ooze and got it. :D Good luck everyone!

BTW I am selling mine on Spirestone, Alliance side. Give Vidox or Leyona a whisper within the week of this post. ;D

You all with the first time drop luck suck. I finally gave up for mine. I spent 2-3 hrs a night after classes and work off and on for a month (as a HOLY paladin) and it was so crazy frustrating even with my hunter buddy taking them out sometimes that I quit. I QUIT! I will settle to never have my ooze. As someone else mentioned, I can mine and gather motes and make so much money in the time I waste farming for the ooze. Next time it's on the AH, I'm buying it. It will be worth it then. Even for the outrageous prices it goes for, when one is actually on there.

wow i had no idea this thing was worth so much. i was not sure whether to sell it to a vender or not since there isn't one in the ah. now ive seen a picture im not sure i want to sell it in the ah. its CUTE!

i got mine fairly randomly killing the oozes in the bottom of the jaedar cave in fellwood. right underneith that elite demon named lord banehollow.

i get bags off oozes about once every 20 or so. they usually have a fair amount of cash in them compared to what the ooze drops.
does this thing really drink beer?

decided to equip it. the oozling sounds like boiling soup. bubble bubble pop! its very very cute. still haven't figured out how to make it drink beer though. im headed to dwarf areas to buy beer and hunt eggs. expect to get a few comments on why im green =p

Just a side note, since everyone here said they got one within hours or just a couple days of farming, and since it is fact, this little critter has a much better drop rate than the whelplings. You can farm for weeks or months and not get a whelpling since the highest drop rate they have is 0.09 (Don't ask me how I know, it nearly makes me cry after a month of farming. ->My whelpling was an AH drop for 105g<-). The drop rate for these little boogers is 1.87, making this a much better drop rate. I'm suprised we haven't seen more of them, and with such a good drop rate, we should be seeing the price of them go down as more people find out about them and start farming......

I am new to WOW, just hit lvl 54 after about 3 months and decided to try out Eastern Plaguelands...got one on my first kill there. Cool little guy, making my co-workers (the folks that got me into WOW) jealous. :)

Yesterday i got my Oozeling... today i read a comment at thottbot where somebody says that the oozeling drinks the ale... 10 minutes ago i went to the brd and got some beer.

It really drinks Dark Iron Ale! With an emote!

The emote in german is: "Ekelhafter Schlammling stürzt das Bier hinunter" (which means something like that the disgusting oozeling drinks the beer very fast)

I looted one in Jaedenar, from inside one of the temple cave complexes. I sold it within a minute for 65g. Maybe I could have got more in the AH, but I figure 65g is enough for a glob of phlegm that has no purpose except to reduce your stats...

I found this lovely litle oozeling on the first day of 1.9

I believe i am the first on Horde side on Spirestone to have, if not on entire server.

He makes you look green, stops traffic and its funny to watch people try and cure you like you have a poison.

Best pet ever, but drop rate must be rarer than the whelping....just lucky i guess. =D

Lowers all resistances and defense by 20, which is only good to duel lower levels, or if you want to get hurt badly hehe.

Also is BoE, so sellable, but i couldn't resist equiping it to see it and show it off. =O

On Argent Dawn, Horde-side, I found mine in my third Oozing Bag, dropped from an ooze in the cave in WPL.

Got mine on my first Tainted Ooze in Felwood, right after Bloodvenom Falls. Had to get to Niby and Impsy for the Soul Harvester quest chain, and the bag dropped off the first ooze I cleared.

Sold it for 100g in the AH on Bronzebeard. Now I can afford to get an enchant on my scythe when I finish the quest!

Got this little bugger while finishing out a Jaedenar quest inside Shadow Hold. Posted to a friend and he freaked out asking me how many kills it took. Then he told me he'd been trying for months and hadn't gotten one... Poor guy, ROFL!

Completionist that I am, I was mindlessly doing the A Sample of Slime... quest that I somehow missed before. The oozeling dropped on the fifth kill. Beautiful dumb luck!

I'm in a small pet guild, and since no one else has this one yet, I'll probably keep it. :)

Hehe got it after 5hours of farming oozes in WPL, acturly kind of funny that Green Arua it gives make a Human look like the hulk if you take off your clothes^^...but -15 Def and -15FR is not that good:(,Definetly no MC/BWl pet:P

I got this a while ago, but I just wanted to say that after almost a week of farming, I managed to obtain this pet. I believe I am the first player on Skywall to have it, as I have yet to see another play have one.

Farmed Tainted Ooze´s in Felwood for like 5hours, 100ish bags, no oozeling. A friend of mine farmed the recipe for Greater Nature protection potion meanwhile in WPL, he found one so i bought his for 130g.

I was farming the ooze's in WPL and I got one of those ooze bags, and inside it I got one of these pets to drop.

While you have the pet out, it gives you a -20 resistance to all debuff, and -20 defence.

Looks cool to have out and it makes you green, here is a sceenshot of it:

its true that they are little alcoholics, just like the jublings. I have quite an extensive pet collection and hope to be adding this one soon. A guildie got one and showed it to me. i must admit that it does stop traffic.

I found this on an Ooze in WPL, i hearthed to orgrimmar shortly afterwards. I put it up in trade and one person whispered me offering 3g for it... i told him it was worth about 100g and he lol'd. I doubt i'll sell it on my server to be honest.

my statistic now:
2300 Kills (Felwood), ~130 Bags - still no drop.
While farming it, i've found 3 blue items and made ~500g.
i don't give up ;)

4000 Kills, ~180 Bags and still NO drop.

I actually got mine in Un'goro Crater. I don't think it is worth selling 100-200g. You make fast money in Outland and it's easy. I think it's very unique and rare and def worth some fun.

Wish it didn't ahve this debuff, normally I wouldn't mind a little less resist and defense but as I am a tank I kind of need all I can get, so while I level my pally off of the oozes in hinterlands I guess I'll just sell this if it drops.

I saw a troll priest with of these. He said he got it from glutinous oozes in ungoro, but i wonder why they are not listed. Well, im going to try to farm for one. Coolest pet ever! yet, bad when your not just showing him off.:P

never seen 1 before, found wile doing the quest for smples, mine droped in ungoro in a bag,
i saw the prices posted so i put in ah, advertized once, and it sold for 80g within a minut.

Been grinding in Felwood for 1hr for exp and this oozeling. At one point one of the oozes drops: Recipe for invisibility potion (green) and an oozing bag, and in the bag, Star Ruby and the oozeling. I'm really lucky I guess.
BTW here's a question. The pic of the oozeling here shows him black. Instead the one on WoWWiki shows him green. Is that a variation due to the light, or does he change color, or is it due to dark iron ale, or maybe it depends from the color of the ooze you found the bag on?

In the category "creepy cuties", Sleepy Willy the beholder beats this-his unique eye wide shut.
Problem is, Willy is a Children's Week reward for level 60+. Children's Week finishes in a few days and I'm lvl 55.
Guess I will have to wait one more year and AAAAAAARGHRAWR! "enrages"
Wanna go to Elwynn and show it's inhibitants the "ways of the infernal". Yes. It's that bad.

and a total of 455.46 silver.
ZERO Oozelings.

Approximate, I am keeping mental tabs on kills and occasionally lose exact track, but should be accurate for the most part.

Finaly, the luck was on my side =)

Saw someone in IF with thisone, and I just HAD to get it! Thought that about pets before, and I spend about 5-6 hours trying to get a whelp, before I gave up. But thisone took me max 5 min. One bag, there it was =D

It took me 3 days of farming slimes in Felwood, WPL/EP and countless of oozing bag opened now its MINE!

Just some clarification: they cannot drop from "Oozelings" in WPL because those are summoned mobs and don't drop loot. As other posters have mentioned, though, the Felwood slimes are -much- easier to kill. (Got one last night after 2.5 hours of grinding.)

Got it out of about the eighth oozing bag I found. I put it up on the auction house for 600G bid, 1000G buyout. If that doesn't sell, I'll make the cute little guy into the guild mascot.

These things are really rare. I'm surprised that other people aren't trying to gouge.

The Best Pet Evar!

Thank goodness I am a hunter. How many classes can farm something 5 lvls higher than themselves? Saw one that an Undead Warrior had. Asked him where did he get it. He told me, "If I told you, I would have to kill you" =( What a meanie. Hope to get mine soon.

Well, Sagecat, you may have gotten your wish - sort of. I have 3 toons with the ooze pet and it's officially broken with patch v1.12. For some reason the debuff turns off and on in semi-regular intervals - like 5 seconds on 5 seconds off. The trouble is that your toon goes from green to normal to green to normal... You get the idea. My guess is that blizz was trying to pulse the ooze disgusting aura so that it would take effect when you mount or shapeshift. Pre-v1.12 the green effect would disappear for good the first time you did either. Well, until you dismissed and resummoned your pet again. Regardless, it's a wee bit irritating right now. :(

Wouldn't be so sweet if I accidentally stumbled upon it, but I actually went to farm for it in Felwood, prepared for months of farming... Imagine my joy when I opened the second bag that droped of the oozes after just a few kills.

You're lieing, notice the "unique" on the item's description, you can only hold 1 in your inventory/bags/bank at any one time. Unless it's stored on one of your alts, then you're completely lieing about holding two of these.

He found one and then sold it and maybe days after he found another one and sold that one ..? He didn't say anything about "holding" them in his bag all at once, or that he found them in a row.

Confirmed for classic wow : The oozeling no longer provides any visual "aura" on the user. The debuff "aura" is still however a thing, obviously. Very disappointed =/

If anyone is wondering how to mute the pet sounds in classic you need to make these folders:

"World of Warcraft\_classic_\sound\ambience\water"

then a file inside the water folder called "greenslimeloop1.ogg" you can make this file as a notepad then save as a .ogg file. Enjoy the silence

The -20 Defense component of Oozeling's Disgusting Aura emitted by this oozeling does have some niche uses. For example when you're stacking on effects that trigger damage to your target whenever you are struck in combat, it's beneficial to have less defense, because then you will be struck more in combat. The rare, but very interesting item Bonespike Shoulder will also proc more when used together with the oozeling, as having a lower Defense value means you'll be crit more in combat.

Here's an example gear set that would benefit greatly from using a Disgusting Oozeling.

A lowered Defense value can also be of minor benefit for Paladins with Reckoning, Shamans with Eye of the Storm, Priests with Martyrdom and/or Blessed Recovery and Warriors with Blood Craze in specific situations. You can also use death skips marginally faster by calling this pet out.
